Came for breakfast on Memorial Day 2021 about 10:30 an. It's takeout only because of covid but the have outdoor seating. The line was short and went pretty fast. I ordered the Hungry Man and a large coffee for about $14. The Hungry man is about 10-11 and I believe the most expensive thing on the breakfast menu. 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and choice of meat. My order came up quickly and so did others around me. It was a lot of food and it was all very good. I will probably come back tomorrow or for dinner tonight. I give it 4 stars. This was a large waste of money. Frozen apps out of a box and we asked for their specialty and the server said the perch and turkey Reuben. We did both and a burger and chicken Alfredo. The Reuben was not good and smelled. The perch were not fresh and the Alfredo was a cheesy white / cheddar blob of spaghetti noodles. It actually was ok but not Alfredo at all. They only sell bottled water and soft drinks. Another family came in ordered and then went out and got a couple of bottled waters from their car and the waitress told them they could place the bottles next to the door, but they were not allowed to bring them in per the sign. Despite many negative reviews about this place I'd give it a three star because I enjoyed the food we ordered (for the most part). Bosco sticks for appetizers which were honestly delicious. My friend ordered their special Sea Dog sandwich which was cooked to perfection and actually really good as well. It all took a turn with my pulled pork sandwich. It was more of a mushy mess then actual pulled pork. My fries were under cooked and super blanched in color. Some of the prices were outrageous too, $18 for fish and chips if I remember correctly. DONT order a fountain drink it has a horrible after taste from the awful irony well water they have. The well water is so gross they wont even serve you a glass of water. We stopped here when we first arrived in town for breakfast. The parking lot was packed on a Friday morning ('they must have good food!!') and we took the last booth available. A nice gentleman brought us menus right away, but we noticed at least three waitresses walking very briskly carrying things and sweating profusely. None of them greeted us or said she'd be right back or even she won't be right back. So we left after about 15 minutes of being ignored. We got breakfast in Mears, but that is another review. In fairness, that same day we wanted a salad for dinner, so we ordered a chefs salad carry out from here and it was pretty durn good. I asked for plates though, and the waitress said just cut the styrofoam container in half and you'll have two plates! which I though was odd. On Saturday morning before the breakfast rush, we stopped back in for a hot coco for my sweetie and we met a guy in there from our neck of Michigan and so we talked to him for about a half hour. I ordered a cup of coffee as well, and It was good and hot. It's right at the roundabout in town, so it's convenient if you're staying in town. read more

This restaurant was pretty bad. I ordered the 3 piece "fresh" lake perch with fries, husband got the wet burrito with chicken, one kid got the mini ravioli, and the other Mac and cheese. We'll start with the perch and fries. The fish itself was not terrible. However for the 12.95 price you got three "nuggets" and (I counted) 12 crinkle cut French fries. My husband had no complaints of the wet burrito. It was pretty fair sized. The Mac and cheese was out of a box and served with about 5 ripple chips. The kids mini ravioli was chef boyardee served with about 6 ripple chips. The ice water and iced tea tasted like they sourced it from the lake across the street. Maybe even worse then lake water. I asked for lemon to make my water better and was told "lemon is only served with the perch not the water". My kids said the bathroom was disgusting. The floor was dirty. For $41 plus tip, spend your money elsewhere. read more

My family has been coming to this town for years and years and have always eaten here every time we stop, never had the food been this awful. My husband ordered nachos and the hamburger meat was cold. The chili cheese fries were cold in the middle, like they took a handful of fries, threw canned chili on top and some shredded cheese and stuck it in the microwave for a minuet. Cheese wasn't even melted. I ordered a hot turkey sandwich which was completely nasty. Couple slices of cold soggy bread with a few pieces of deli meat. Ate here summer of 2012. The Ruben was soggy, and cold. Ordered a water and it tasted like it came from the lake. Friends of mine ordered soda, and had the same lake-like taste to it. We got into town mif-afternoon. This restaurant was our choice for lunch. We were promptly greeted and served by Sandy. She got the drinks to us quickly and took our orders. The meal was very good. You should avoid this place! The problem is there aren't a lot of choices in town so you might be tempted to try it, but don't. I felt bad for our waitress because it seems like a management or kitchen problem. I have been here several times over the years but it seems to have really gone down hill. The first time we went for breakfast and it took 40min. To get scrambled eggs and toast. The second time we were there it took almost a half hour to get drinks. After a long wait the first couple of meals came out of the kitchen and over the next 20min. the rest of the meals trickled out. So, by the time the last meal arrived the others were already done eating. Then finally the salad came out. A bit put off when I walked in by myself with my 3 children and was barely greeted and not offered a high chair for my toddler. So I read all the reviews before coming to this restaurant... I didn't really want to but it's the only place in town that serves breakfast-unless you want doughnuts. I should also say that my boyfriend and I have traveled all over Michigan this summer and our rule when it comes to meals is local businesses, and we love dive type places so he encouraged me to just give it a try...I ordered French Toast with a side of bacon and American Fries w/ Sausage Country Gravy and a Sprite to drink. My first drink choice was water but it only comes bottled and they charge $1.50 for it. my French Toast was fine- not amazing but edible with butter and syrup, bacon was good (I asked that it be cooked crispy and it was just how I wanted) my American Fries were disgusting... they did not have any gravy as advertised and my boyfriend and I had explained we were ordering them to share- they served them on a coffee saucer, so not enough to share but that didn't matter in the end because they were nasty- oily, cold and the grease tasted rancid. I realize that we were eating at a diner and for the most part it was standard diner fare- but the prices were really high for the quality and quantity of food we got. The waitress was really friendly, she asked us about our travels- the only problem I had was she knew that the side we ordered to share wasn't correct- "went to check something" the next time we saw her was 20 minutes later to give us our bill. This restaurant charges for water (they say only bottled water is available) even though they have fountain drinks. Breakfast is served until 11. My scrambled eggs were runny, I sent the bacon back to get it crisp, even though I asked for it crispy the first time. My husband ordered blueberry pancakes and found a chunk of onion in it which ruined his appetite. They refunded 1/2 of the charge for the pancakes. Very expensive ($3.75 for a large orange juice). Went there with a big group of 10. The service was pretty good, but very few in my group really enjoyed the food. A few observations: 1. The burgers were super greasy 2. The wrap I ordered was not how I ordered it at all. It had olives on it when I asked for no olives and was missing the onions I requested. It also had a weird, gross cheese that was slimy and definitely not the swiss I ordered. Needless to say I paid almost $10 for a sandwich without fries that I took 2 bites of. 3.
