I feel so lucky to have found Paula at Shanti. She started me with a fitness class which focuses on toning and strengthening my core, as well as a Beginner's Yoga class to work on strength, balance and flexibility. She has a fantastic demeanor and vast knowledge to teach, guiding me through the process while motivating me to realize my capabilities. I've subsequently found that I still have both abs and obliques, dropping 15lbs and a belt size. But the unique thing is that I enjoy it. No excuses, no dreading it, and no boredom. Paula clearly puts a tremendous amount of time into preparing for each class. Going into my fifth month, each class is still different. I'm seeing results, feeling results and I'm not bored. After experiencing other instructors, my more experienced classmates would consistently recommended Paula highly...and now I do too...

Paula is supportive and relaxed... all the while encouraging you to push yourself to the next level of a stronger, more balanced and confident YOU! If you are interested in giving yourself (or someone you love) the best gift ever, then this is it. I received my first 'class card' as a gift from my husband and have been taking classes for over 2 years now and can not believe the positive changes I have experienced in both body and mind! Classes are energizing, fun and very, very reasonably priced (check around you will quickly see the value)! Paula is phenomenal and you will never know how cool it feels to do you first "inversion"... until you try! Shanti Yoga and Fitness... DO IT FOR YOU!

It's a small, personal place, and the owner, Kim, is warm and welcoming. She offers a variety of classes, from gentle (yin) to hatha to power yoga. The gentle yoga classes are great for people who are just getting into yoga and/or have injuries that have prevented them from trying yoga before. Kim and the other instructors are always very patient and make sure new people take their physical limitations into account when doing any of the positions. The instructors are very "hands on," and In all the classes, they go around and make sure we're doing the positions correctly so we get the most out of them. The classes are invigorating and often challenging (even the gentle ones), but they always end with shavasana--which is about 10 minutes of relaxation and (for those who can) meditation. I always leave feeling more relaxed, more energized, and more focused than when I came in. This is not a place for Type A people. Classes don't start exactly when they should, and sometimes they go over their 90-minute allotment. But if you want a yoga studio where the instructors and the students care about one another and care about creating great energy, I think you'll really love this place too.

The owner, Diane Lagadec is absolutely AMAZING. I can't really say enough about her or the Center, but I'll try . . . Not only does the Center offer a variety of yoga classes and teachers, but they have days and times that fit anyone's schedule. I took classes with several teachers, and they were all wonderful. My favorite ones were Diane and Mona Cusick. Each teacher offers something different as far as their approach, so it's an individual thing. I would give any of them a try. The Center also offers many interesting workshops for body, mind and spirit. I took belly dance classes here with two different teachers, and I had a great experience. Check their schedule online for the latest offerings. They also sometimes have special concerts. I went to a Kirtan once, and I had never been to one before. It was really cool, and I recommend going if you like to sing. The space itself is beautiful with spacious yoga rooms . . . there are also 2 large bathrooms for changing. The place is very clean and decorated in a very lovely, spiritual way. There are many wonderful things to buy in the shop, including jewelry, clothing, books, incense, and other supplies. I've bought my most beautiful earrings here, and a shirt that I get compliments on every time I wear it. The people who work at the Center are so nice you'll want to come back again and again. I wish I could come back here, but I now live in Cambridge and got rid of my car. Sigh. If you live in the Bridgewater area, you MUST check it out. By the way, the Center moved some time ago, and aren't in Central Square. They are at 992 Bedford Street (Route 18).

All different types of pain, from muscle spasms, to joint pain, to nerve pain, etc.. Over the past few months I have been been seeing a physical therapist for neck and shoulder problems 2x a week and a chiropractor for back, shoulder, hip and neck problems 2x a week. Over the past 2 weeks, my hips and back have literally been ON FIRE, like if you were to pull my clothes back, I am convinced that what you would see would be a raging, burning fire. About a month ago, I decided that when the kids went back to school, I was going to make it a goal to attend a yoga class twice a week. After all, I had bought not 1, but 2 packages last year and I hadn't made any time to use any of them. I have a crazy busy schedule with all of my doctor's appointments, 2 jobs and two small kids with their own appointments and activities; and I never make time to do anything I enjoy (outside of being "mother"). So anyway, I've been busy, I've been in pain, yadayadayda...and I succeed in making to class last Wednesday! SCORE!!! I was convinced I'd get on the mat and cry for the full 75 minutes because I am so wound up, I was worried I'd let it go as soon as there was silence, lol! Well I didn't cry-at all. In fact, I came out of that ONE class with peace and a sense of openness in my whole body and mind. After that ONE class, the burning throughout my body instantly cooled. My muscles feel awake rather than attacked and I keep repeating to myself: "balance the ease and the effort-find my comfortable place" in everything I do. Bonnie made such an impact on my body and mind after one class, that I crave to be in her class again. Her manual adjustments are amazing and her verbal cues are spot on. Her flows are meaningful and perfect. Bonnie's class is truly healing. On top of all that, she's downright funny, relatable and easy to be around!!! She doesn't take herself too seriously and she makes everyone feel so comfortable to not be perfect, but strive to be comfortable. I was actually surprised at how much more I was able to get into different twists and stretches with her guidance to NOT push it. I've taken many classes where the teacher says that, but there is something in the way that Bonnie approaches it that made it tangible enough to actually believe it-and then execute it and take it off the mat after. I am thrilled to have stumbled upon Bonnie and I wanted to share how much I appreciate her work. I am grateful, to say the least! Thank you! One month update: In a bizarre turn of events, my son jumped into my arms and gave me whiplash. I continued to take Bonnie's class while I was healing. I truly believe in her teaching!

She literally read every single person in the audience besides maybe five of us in the first beginning of the show, she read the people in the back who paid less knowing they wouldn't stay for the vip after show so in my opinion, if you really wanna go pay less for your tickets because the VIP people got less what really upset me was we left that show even more sad and angry than we went in. She announced in the beginning of the show we would leave lighter She claimed we would see signs all around us when we left as well didn't happen. She called on the person I was with and said she'd come back to them and never did. I'm not saying this review just for that reason I am telling you she was very vague with everything. She was saying to people in the audience. She was there as a comedian instead of something that was actually serious. I didn't pay to go see a comedian I paid to see something serious. She was extremely funny but again I didn't pay to go see a comedian. Not to mention the fact, she was definitely drinking alcohol throughout her show which I believe is unprofessional unless you're at a comedy show.
