UPDATE: My daughter has been enrolled at The Goddard…read moreSchool of Leesburg for over three years. When we first enrolled our daughter at one year old we were focused on the nurturing and loving environment, and we found just that and more at the Goddard School. As our daughter moved to the preschool and pre-k we realized our need for private kindergarten. We discovered that the Goddard School is the only accredited school in the area. This adds to all the amazing academics that made us continue to choose Goddard Schools over daycares in the area. We love that we have seen the consistency in the staff, many of them have been here since before we started three years ago. We highly recommend the Goddard School of Leesburg.

NEW OWNERS, NEW DIRECTOR & ASSISTANT DIRECTOR…read more I can't sing enough praises for Hasna and Kaitlin. When Kiddie Academy closed due to landlord issues, we followed Hasna and her team without any hesitation. During the transition, I met with Madhu (owner) a few times and she was welcoming, understanding, and compassionate about the abrupt changes. My daughter is in the Panda class with Shannon and Gana. Shannon is one of the warmest souls I've met. Gana, who was part of the KA staff, cares for my daughter in such a way that my L recognizes it, and always goes to her at drop off, and is sitting on her lap at pick up! There is a strong emphasis on learning- but learning through play. Physical movement, art skills, sharing, books, dramatic play. I'm at such great peace leaving my daughter in the care of this wonderful staff!

Caution! If your child does not fit the mold for Montessori in Leesburg, VA on Day One, or needs…read moreextra attention to adjust, they will call you to come get your kid and say "not the right environment." Just like the other review here we did our research to find the school and felt like this Montessori was the right choice for our 3 year old son. We went through the entire process of introducing him to the school, the manager, the teachers and the application to have him start preschool at in March 2021. However, less then 3 hours into the first day of school, we get a phone call to come get him because he kept running out of the classroom and not listening to the teachers. Their words were that "they are concerned for his safety and they don't think he's the right fit." As soon as I showed up, my son who was wondering around content and exploring, smiled, and walked to me to be picked up and chilled out. The manager said to me, "we don't have the resources to devote to keeping him still like he is in your arms right now." Excuse me? They did not even "try!" They did not give him1 day to adjust to the new surroundings. Unbelievable and sad! I am giving them two stars, instead of one star, because at least they did not hesitate to give me a full refund.

I'd like to start off by saying my child was never enrolled in this school. So my review shouldn't…read morebe the sole factor in any decision made by parents who are reading this. But I want to encourage parents to visit the school before putting a deposit down. We started the enrollment process after the virtual tour with Melissa Ann and also met the toddler teacher, Ms. Ruby. Both were absolutely terrific! We were so excited to get him started. I got an in-person tour before enrollment and that's when I felt uncomfortable. There were a few things I didn't catch in the virtual tour that were problematic for me in the toddler classroom. First, there are no windows in the toddler classrooms as well as a few others. Maybe I should've known that was a possibility, since it's embedded in a shopping center but the fluorescent lighting made the classroom look even more dingy and small. When kids are developing, natural light and warm physical environment does wonders, which there was none of in the classroom. Second, toddler classroom didn't have their own bathroom and toilet. They just had a small space next to the fridge where they change them. Also, next to where they keep toddler water bottle. It was too open and nothing that really sectioned it off. How are they suppose to learn personal boundaries and respect with their bodies when it's so open like that? Third, the classroom isn't completely closed off from the others there was a half- wall? That was maybe 4 feet tall, so any toddler wouldn't be able to see over but you can hear the other kids, and the aggregate noise seemed chaotic. I don't know how toddlers would be able refine their senses if they can't focus what's right in front of them. We were premature to jump in a put in a deposit after virtual tour because this was on the way to my husband's work for easy drop off and pick up. Thankfully he found another job in a different direction. We were hesitant but we did decide not to put him in Villa even before we found out about the job. Again, these are just my initial impressions. And I really tried to get past the classroom set up but I couldn't. I am giving four starts cause the staff and director were great which is the most important. Maybe I'll reconsider in the future when he gets to be in the classroom with windows and a bathroom.
