This post is long overdue, but as my daughter started kindergarten last week, I had to prioritize this huge Thank You to Jen and all of the Teachers at Beantree. My daughter attended the Westfields school from 3 months until she was almost five. We moved to Texas in December and the hardest part of the relocation, for all of us, was leaving Beantree. My daughter STILL talks about her friends and teachers, wondering what they are doing, wondering if they miss her. The new pre-school we enrolled her in was great, but there's was always that little something missing that we got during our Beantree years. My daughter is a smart, kind, strong, brave, empathetic, engaging, and compassionate leader. I can't help but thank Beantree for being part of molding her. Of course we take credit as her parents, but she also spent 4 days a week (8-9 hours per day) at school. They reinforced the values we taught her at home . . and we continued the momentum of what she learned at school, it was a partnership. My husband and I are essential workers. They stayed open during the early days of COVID, and she was one of the few that continued with school. I remember watching Ms. Blanca diligently cleaning each chair with a tub of soapy water. It gave me the sense that they cared as much about her health as I did. Just like any relationship, there were a few bumps along the way, but it was nothing major and it was always something we could talk through and agree upon a resolution. I admit that the tuition is quite pricey, but I never had to worry about whether my child was learning or safe. The whole staff was amazing, but I definitely want to shout out the Day 1s that were with her for the entire journey: Ms. Paula, Ms. Rnee, Ms. Ranika, Ms. Sam, Ms. Megan, Ms. Michelle, Ms. 'Nessa, Ms. Tee Tee, Ms. Lauren, Ms. Jean Ms. Amanda, Ms. Danielle, Ms. Katherine, Ms. Anne, Ms. Miranda, Ms. Jacky, Ms. Skylar, Ms. Giatra, Mr. Scott, Ms. Olesya!! BeanTree Learning - Preschools Near Me - Chantilly, Virginia

My child is no longer at BeanTree only because I changed jobs and location (over an hour away) I just have to write a second review after now having experienced a few months with another childcare center. I knew even before having to change centers; honestly there is no other childcare center that can compare. I miss BeanTree! Here's some of the main things I love about beantree that I can't find anywhere else: * The education and educators. Even if a school has great curriculum & lesson plans, it's all about the delivery. At BeanTree even in a large class room, smaller groups of children are assigned to one teacher so they receive more customized, one on one care & education. The ratios are also smaller than required by licensing. Every child receives individual attention throughout the day. Teachers form bonds with each child. * Staffing. There are always plenty of friendly, helpful ladies at the front desk to monitor people coming & going and to help. At other daycares, more often than not, the front desk is empty throughout the day. That makes me uncomfortable for more than one reason, even with all the top security measures. Also, at BeanTree there are plenty of teacher floaters who cover for lead teachers breaks. The teachers at BeanTree are provided with several breaks (I found it to be way more than average) that I believe are so necessary. Everyone need time to decompress and prepare lesson plans etc. * Full time cleaning staff. There are ladies dedicated to cleaning the center FT daily. The center is always very clean. * Separate eating areas in each classrooms. The children leave the eating area after meals & the janitorial staff come in to clean so the teachers can concentrate on the children. * Specials included in tuition: music, Spanish & art are provided by a teacher specializing in that subject and in their own separate classroom. When visiting the special rooms, the children are kept in the smaller, assigned groups. Also, visits to the indoor gym, pagoda (kind of another version of indoor gym with a sandbox) & outdoor water park during the summer are all part of your child's daily routine. * sunscreen is provided by the center and applied to every child every time before they go outside. * Diapers/pull-ups, wipes, diaper ointment is provided by the center and diapers are name brand (huggies/pampers) same that I use at home * Regular analysis of your child's milestones/abilities. With each classroom my child went though, I was provided with a report of how she was growing/learning & her milestones etc. they made the report into keepsake posters with photos. Love! Although I now have my child at what I believe to be the best center in the area, I feel her quality of education is way below what she received with BeanTree. Everything is done as a classroom of 20 something 2 year olds. She hardly gets individual attention, none of the children do. The way almost all other centers are ran, it's just not set up for teachers to have the time and ability to spend individual time with each child. She is still in the same age group room (early preschool) but she's is one of the very few children who are fully potty trained where at BeanTree almost all of her friends were also potty trained when she left. I fully credit miss Michelle and miss Morgan at BeanTree - they have a system & it works! I just keep telling myself that her current center is great and if I didn't know any different I would be more impressed with them also haha. read more

Toured this daycare back in July 2015 and was impressed with the interior and teachers all that it offers. Compared to all the other daycare centers my husband and I visited, we were most impressed with this one. So we decided to sign our 15 month old son up for this daycare. However upon submitting our enrollment paperwork and registration, everything just went downhill. When I called, I was told by the admin staff the day before I submitted the enrollment paperwork and fees that there is an available spot for my child at the end of the month. Based on that fact, I submitted my registration form and fees. However once I submitted the registration fees, then it's a whole other story. The director then told me it won't be until 2 months later in Sept that they will have an opening for my child. That was not what I was told the day before. I emailed and called to see if they could accomodate an earlier start date rather than the 2 months later date that they proposed, to which I received no response. The only other correspondence I received from them was a bill 3 months later in Oct for the month of September. (Which my child never attended...) wow! I was told that the bill was auto generated by the computer and was not even offered an apology. Yup, so they took our registration fees, failed to deliver what they promised and sent me a bill for a service that was never provided, and then blamed us for not contacting them that we weren't going to attend. (When I never got a confirmation about the enrollment date) Based on this experience with them and the lack of communication from the beantree staff, I highly doubt that we would ever enroll our son or recommend this place to anyone. read more

This review is hard for me to write but I think it's important for parents who were like me and researched everything. My son was only at Beantree from March 1 2018 to June 1 2018, before I had to pull him out. He was developing just fine until I put him into infant room C at 8 Months. While there he lost weight, (his teacher would only give him 2 to 4 ounces of milk for the whole day and minimal food and snacks, when he got home he would drink 16 ounce bottles and have a massive dinner- all our time was taken up in feeding him), and he lost his ability to sign. Also before beantree he was beginning to belly crawl and then stopped until 1 month in. When I would visit he was typically playing on the floor face up by himself. The last straw is when I discovered a gash (that lasted for 1 week) on his nose. I emailed the office and they pretty much told me it wasn't them. No follow up with my husband and no one offer to review tapes for the day. 2 weeks later, I had to quit my job and returned to being a stay at home mom. I would have quit sooner but sadly I had an extremely important position and leaving too soon who have resulted in lots of people being harmed. Also there's no clear way to report concerns to higher ups. My husband and I would talk a lot about how to handle the situation but we were worried that things would just get worst for our son because there's no proper way to report concerns expect for talking to the teacher. Because of the beantree experience my son formed hypotonia, which is weak muscle tone, and he dropped to 1% in weight. I kept wanting to believe that our teacher would realize how to teach our son but it wasn't clicking. I went several times to show her how to feed him and still nothing. My kid doesn't scream, he's a sweet beautiful boy, who can even eat in his sleep. She just couldn't be bothered to care for him, I guess.. or maybe the experience made him depressed. I am still so furious at the whole situation and honestly I feel like he was being a bit neglected while he was there. I expect things like this to happen at a larger more corporate daycare where it easy to get lost. To put it in another perspective. At our 8 Month visit at the Drs. my son was developing on par and 40% weight. At our 12 Month visit his Dr said he looked like an 8 month old and 1% in weight. At our last visit 15 Months he's developing on par with higher marks on language back up to 40%. He's now back to normal weight and he's regained his signs plus some. I do believe we had a poorly trained teacher (who is a very sweet person). The facility had a ton of promise. It's beautiful, and some of the assistant teachers are to die for, and truly remarkable educators. They need to do better screening for teachers and more follow up especially with the younger educators they have on staff. There was a lot of times our teacher would show us a game or write something down on the paper of activities for the day and it honestly was not impressive. I get most kids learn to walk, talk and crawl by themselves so you may not think you need someone who is skilled in teaching this stuff but it's an extremely important time and period in an infants life. My daughter started at the Chantilly Beantree the year it opened and was there for the following four years. I cannot say enough about this school, they were so good with her and to her and the school itself (not just the staff) is absolutely amazing. We had moved to the area for work and were away from our families. The school staff was able and willing to babysit on nights/weekends, which was very helpful to us as we did not know anyone and were not comfortable hiring a random person. There is a family feel to this school and they really invest in their staff. I know it is a bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. The only reason she stopped going was because we moved to Florida. I could only dream for a facility like their down here. We miss you beantree! read more

This is the best school in the area. My son has been going there for almost 2 years and he absolutely loves the school and his teachers. We are really sad to leave because we are moving to a different state but I cannot praise BeanTree enough for their excellent academic program for kids, attentive and caring teachers, and friendly and accommodating staff. We stayed at school during the pandemic because we felt comfortable enough to bring our toddler there. What's great is that they actually have a cleaning crew, separate from teachers, who dedicate 100% of their attention to keeping the school clean. Meanwhile, teachers only focus on students. Oh, by the way, their teachers have advanced degrees in children education, music, arts, etc. It's a fantastic school for kids! read more

This is school heaven for a child! It's a children's town inside a building! I was taken aback by the size and cleanliness of the facility. They have a barber shop, a house keeping service, separate rooms for art, music, technology, etc. The staff seemed highly trained and majority had higher education than most day cares around. With this facility, you definitely get what you pay for. Unfortunately, despite all the pros, it is way too pricey for an average income family to afford tuition here. I do agree with the previous review that I wish there were more day care/private academy's like Bean Tree we could afford. If you have the funds, Bean Tree definitely seems like the place a child would excel and learn. read more

I'm providing an update 2 years later. Since I wrote my last review, my children have moved into 2nd grade and Kindergarten in public schools. My older child attended the private kindergarten program at BeanTree, and then my family moved to out of town so my younger child went straight to public kindergarten at our local school. When both of my children entered public school, their teachers were really impressed with their reading, writing and math proficiency. I am not writing this to brag about having genius children or my A+ parenting skills. I do the regular amount of bedtime reading at night (1 book) and the rest of my kids days are spent just being kids (playing, sometimes reading, fighting with each other, watching TV -- go ahead, judge away-- riding their bikes, etc.). My younger child's teacher wanted to know what I did at home that made the difference in her ability to read so easily vs the other kids. I honestly could not say that I was doing anything different from your average, over-extended working parent. But what I did know what that my kids did have early exposure to the basics of reading in preschool and I think that made the difference. Is it possible to do this at home by yourself? Absolutely! And if you could, I'd recommend it because you'd save a ton of money on tuition. But if your family is like mine (2 working parents in the DC area with everyday stresses and obligations + kids activities on the weekend) and you don't have the luxury of being at home to supervise every minute of your child's day, then I can attest to the fact that sending your child here is probably the next best thing. I'm still keeping this at a 4 star rating because the tuition is way too expensive. read more

My children have both gone (one still going) to BeanTree since they were 6 weeks old. The communication from the teachers and directors are like NO other school. They are on top of everything and please any demands a ridiculous mother can make (brush kids teeth, clip nails, lotion all over body twice a day). They also offer on campus haircuts once a month by a professional, dance lessons, tae kwon doe, soccer and more so parents can do other things on the weekend that don't take up all the time. Then when I came to their SUMMER CAMPS options Wow just wow. From Science, Sports, 3D Printing, STEAM, Cooking where they make almost everything from scratch this is one happy mama!! read more

Simply the best! When my daughter was at the school in Westfields she loved it!! The teachers and Directors were outstanding! The school is clean, safe and secure, and its a loving environment where my daughter was excited to return to school each and every day. Can't say enough about BeanTree! read more

This is probably the best School in the entire NVA. We visited many nice day cares in the area but BeanTree is far better. Not just the eye wide open environment but also the wonderful teachers. Of course, you pay what you got. The tuition is on the higher side but it's so worth it. My 2 daughter love the school. read more

My child has attended for over a year and we are now pulling her from this place. teachers have been quitting left and right and there is no consistency for the kids. There are about a half dozen managers and they all know very little about kids--other than perhaps their own who attend the school. They are not at all open to feedback. We have even been lied to by several managers when we complained about classroom management. There are far better places in the area. read more
