My daughter has been going to school here for almost a year. It has done wonders for her social skills, academic skills, and behavior! The owners, staff members, and teachers are amazing and I love the tadpoles app where they post pictures and videos of her throughout the day to keep me connected. I can ask her about specific activities she did to help start a discussion about her day! The daily report is also incredibly detailed and they have a thorough curriculum which they follow. She just missed the county's cut off to start kindergarten this Fall but I believe she is kindergarten ready because of this school! She will attend their kindergarten program instead. The quality of the work I have seen from kids in that class is far above and beyond what I have seen in a typical kindergarten classroom. I did a lot of research before I selected this school for her and we could not be happier with our choice! read more

My daughter has been at this Goddard since 2017 and I like that the teachers seem knowledgeable, care about their jobs as well as the well-being of my child. The staff are also great - they always go above and beyond what my expectations and they never make me feel like a hassle. I had my reservations about a bigger "daycare" type of center and preferred home daycares; however, this Goddard School makes me feel like our daughter gets the best of both environments. The most important factor for us is that our daughter has really come out of her shell and developed confidence socially, academically and emotionally. What do kids need most? Structure and consistency. Well the school has nailed both. The staff turnover is the lowest I've ever seen! They are consistent. Always fully staffed with the BEST in the industry. The school has so much to offer the children. And so much variety to change it up daily! I can't say anything negative. My daughter has attended the Goddard School for only a month, but I can already see the positive effect it has had on her. I was first drawn to the school because there was a certain calmness and confidence I could see from the kids in the classroom. The teachers do such an amazing job of guiding, not dictating routines. They establish such a friendly environment where the kids are encouraged to be more independent and play better together. The entire staff is so welcoming and really interested in engaging each child based on his/her own needs and interests. We have also been really impressed by the communication with parents (pictures, videos, reports, conferences, etc) and really looking out for parents' needs (Parent's Night Out; PTA opportunities, etc). My daughter looks forward to going to school and I'm excited to hear her stories when she comes home. read more

Both my daughters are enrolled at Goddard Chantilly (Westone Plaza) and I haven't once looked back on my decision to enroll. They transitioned from an at-home daycare with very few kids so my husband and I were worried about the lack of one on one attention they would receive. We were so off track! The teachers and administrators at Goddard are wonderful and helped my girls (and my husband and me) get comfortable with the new surroundings and people. I knew we picked the right place when my oldest started coming home with a smile and telling me all about her day and her "best friend." She has plenty to choose from so it seems the name changes daily! It's a conversation we definitely look forward to having at the dinner table. I can't say enough nice things about the staff. Every single teacher, administrator, and even the owner makes an effort to know the kids. They even put up with a paranoid mom and allowed me to stay most of the first day with my daughter. No one once complained! The curriculum is fantastic. The variety in educational content and the style and delivery is remarkable. My daughters do everything from singing and dancing to improving handwriting to playing numbers games on the computer. The Tadpoles app and getting updates is definitely an added bonus! I hope anyone who reads this review at the very least gives Goddard Chantilly (Westone Plaza) a try. They really are very good at what they do! read more

My experience started off amazing but ended with us choosing another learning center after signing up. I am not sure if it was bad timing, or it could have been the way they handle the babies in the infant room- teachers can become desensitized to the sound of crying. I strongly suggest spending time in the room, and going at different times in day so you can get a full view of what goes on especially with the babies. read more

The administrative staff was great when we were thinking of enrolling. I was given a recommendation by a family friend to send my son here. Unfortunately, my son had a terrible experience. I told the staff that it was my sons first time going to school and being anywhere besides home. Despite that, I felt the teachers made no effort to make him feel welcome. Instead one of the teachers thought it was appropriate to take my crying son to the bathroom and tell him he cant come out until he stops crying. When I reported this incident, I was told this is not the first time a teacher has done this and why would I think its a big deal. I told them how traumatized my son was - started having pee accidents when fully potty trained, waking up crying with nightmares, refusing to go potty because of fear of being contained there, and holding me tight in his sleep with the fear of letting go. It took him a whole week to recover. I would be stupid to let this incident go and put my son in that environment again. If the teachers dont know what the appropriate way of dealing with a crying toddler is, then they really should not be in a toddler classroom. I expect my son to be nurtured and loved in his first time school setting so he adjusts and starts to like school - not threatened. read more

We moved our kids to Goddard School in Chantilly after 5 years at Minnieland. Goddard is run so much better it is impossible to compare them. The staff are the best, and our kids are learning great things. We are extremely happy with Goddard Chantilly. The owners are extremely tuned-in to what happens at the school and the administrative staff responds to issues with lightning speed. Love it. read more

If you have a perfectly well behaved child who is incapable of any wrongdoing this is the perfect school for you. Many parents who attend this school are helicopter parents who will not think twice to try to get another child kicked out of the school for normal age appropriate behaviors. Every single school has these type of parents but a good administration would work with all parents and the teachers first as a team to find a resolution. Our child was on the receiving end of a parent complaint and the administration was very cold toward our child and blamed us and only seemed to care about preserving appearances. Nobody's child is perfect and a good school should work with the parents during these critical years. The school gets two stars because the teachers are very supportive but their hands are tied with management. read more

I really enjoy this school. My child has been here for a few months and he loves it. However, my child recently moved up to the Pretod room and I never get to see both teachers, as one is always late. It's concerning to me as how the establishment is ran in a whole. How can you take my child and his early education serious if you do not take yourself serious? If you do not take your job serious enough to be on time? One day I watched my child through the window and the teacher came in at 915am but posted her hours are 9am. This has happened a few times already. The other issue I have is that there is always a different teacher in my child's room. Consistency is not the key. Maybe the teachers arent happy because there seems to be a bad turnover of teachers as of late. Other than that my child seems to be happy here. read more

I've been so impressed by how educationally and developmentally focused Goddard is as opposed to simply a daycare facility that cares for children. In addition to cognitive development, they also work on teaching self help skills, positive interaction skills / manners, and offer fun activities for the kids. Goddard is also very organized, is managed effectively, and has a friendly, nurturing staff. They maintain consistently high standards for their teachers and directors. My son attended the Goddard School from age 5 months to 16 months. We only left because we are moving out-of-state. Infant and First Steps care was absolutely wonderful. Infant ratio: 3 to 1; First Steps ratio: 4 to 1; although the majority of the time there were always more teachers available in the classroom. Great open door policy which I thoroughly tested by stopping by 3-4 times a day when I first left him. The staff as a whole are very professional but also work to develop relationships with the parents. PTO is very active. On the whole, it feels more like a family than a school. My son (an only child) was walking by 10 months, is very engaging around other children, and already performs tasks that are preparatory to required skills for entering school -- all thanks to Goddard. He has lots of fun, also -- never any issue of him not wanting to attend school. He walks into the school and straight to the classroom and is happy as can be. It's a bit expensive but I thought it was well worth it for my child. read more
