It checked all my boxes of being clean, diverse, and a learning environment but it also was organized. I appreciated that each room had a picture and description of each teacher including their background and how long they have worked there. I also loved that there was a dry erase board with information on next diaper and next bottle. As any new parents, we were nervous about the care anyone would provide that wasn't us. Now being at Chesterbrook for over 6 months with our son, I would absolutely recommend it to anyone! The cleanliness and organization continue to stand out, along with the teachers and principals kindness and love to not only our son but the other children there. They use an app called Links2Home and we get 4-6 pictures on average of our son throughout the day. Communication through the app with the teachers and principals have been quick and responsive to our requests. Recently we had asked them to switch the order in which he eats, bottles first then solids and they adapted within the next feeding time for our son. This past Friday they had a petting zoo and give us monthly finger paintings our son has done. It's difficult to allow someone else to watch your only child but I will say I have seen him blossom and become so social with others as well as seeing his natural joy be nourished with the same love that my partner and I give. They really care for the children with their heart and we get wonderful arts each week. We also made friends that we still keep in touch with after preschool from this place. The classes are in a small size so that each child get the attention they deserve. I also love their play based learning because at this age, I think it's more important for them to have fun while learning and my child knows his A B C's and learn to write his name from this school. If you want your child to love school and ask to go on weekends (lol), this is the place!!

Even teachers that haven't been in her class before make it a point to say "Good Morning" and complement her or give her a hug. Ellie usually walks through and waves to everyone like she owns the place. She's been learning so much from them too! She sings a ton of different songs and every day she comes home with something new to say or sing. We just had another baby and can't wait for him to start there too. We have been considering moving to a different county but this day care is what is holding us back for now. That's how much we adore this place! If you're on the fence about choosing a day care center, let me tell you, you won't be disappointed with Kiddie Academy of Centreville! Original 2016: We have been enrolled at Kiddie Academy for 3 months now. At first visit, we loved this place because the smaller classrooms and the video streaming capability. But the hours and the prices weren't comparable to the area. So we went with a different daycare initially. After a horrific ordeal with that other place, we decided as parents that we would make this decision for our infant, not because of money or convenience and I am so glad that we did. Somehow, we are able to make it work scheduling wise and it's about more expensive than other places but we were able to make that work too. The staff is absolutely amazing! The kids love their teachers, the parents love the staff and the communication I get from Kiddie Academy is more than I could have imagined. I get pictures and updates through the app and able to log on and see my kid anytime of the day. I can't believe there aren't ANY reviews out here for them because this place is amazing!

What made this even more distressing was that this child had reportedly shown concerning, aggressive behavior for months. My daughter (like other children in the class) became afraid to go to school because of this child and started to pretend to be sick on schooldays. Multiple parents raised concerns and filed formal complaints, hoping the school would put proper support systems, supervision, and communication in place. Unfortunately, nothing meaningful ever happened. I want to be clear: I don't blame the child. Children who act out physically are almost always struggling in some way and need gentle, consistent support from the adults responsible for their care. My heart truly goes out to this little one. Children show us they need help in the only ways they know how--and it's the school's job to respond appropriately. The problem here was the school's complete lack of action. They did not communicate effectively with parents, including (shockingly) the parents of the child involved in the ongoing behavior. That lack of communication appears to have allowed a difficult situation to escalate unnecessarily, ultimately hurting multiple families. After my daughter was bitten, we made the immediate decision to withdraw her. What stunned me most was what happened next: nothing. No exit interview. No request for feedback. No inquiry about why we were leaving. No apology. Not even a word from her teacher. We simply unenrolled her the next day, and the school never acknowledged it at all. This was an incredibly disappointing and disheartening ending to what we hoped would be a nurturing environment. I sincerely hope the school takes a long, hard look at its communication practices and its responsibility to support all children--both the ones being hurt and the ones doing the hurting. Kids deserve better, and so do parents.

When I brought my daughter to her class, I overheard the following comments from the director and some other teachers in the pre-k class "oh, stop whining", "don't be a cry baby", "(behind an angry little boy) nobody talks to him, don't say or do anything to him". I thought it was weird but I didn't think too much. My daughter is very outgoing and playful. She was also advanced compared to other kids her age. When she went to pre-k, the teacher only taught the class to sing and dance all day. After a couple of weeks, when she got to preschool class, I realized I couldn't find her on the camera during nap time. When I called in a couple of times to ask where she was, I was simply told she was sleeping in the corner. I trusted the teacher, didn't question anything. The teacher didn't tell me anything about my daughter. A few days later, I saw my daughter's bedsheet and pillow thrown on the floor in the corner of the classroom on camera, but I couldn't see her. I waited for 30 minutes to see if the teacher was going to do anything. Nothing happened. So I called in to ask if she was okay. The teacher blamed her for keep throwing her pillow to the floor, so they just left her alone, in the corner of the classroom where neither teacher nor the parent could see. The director explained it as if she agreed with what the teacher was doing. Then I asked what she was mad about; I didn't get the answer. I guess they didn't know. They didn't bother to find out why she was mad. I was told she had had problems napping for some time. I was wondering why no one told me anything about this. I started to pay more attention to the camera throughout the day. I found that every single day, my daughter was the only one who had to sleep under the rack where all kids' backpacks were hanging above her bed. That's also a blind spot on the camera so I wouldn't find out if I don't keep staring at the app. She was the only kid who got to sleep there, far away from other kids, during nap time every day. The teacher would sit next to all the other kids, pat them to sleep and keep patting them for hours. My daughter was left in the corner, by herself, sad and mad without any help. I started to think about it: I never see her teacher comforting her, or simply giving her a hug. One day, I stepped out of my office early to check out my daughter during nap time. My husband was checking the camera to see what was going on while I was driving: my daughter was left crying for over half an hour while both of the teachers were sitting with the kids who already fell asleep. When I finally saw my daughter, tears were all over her face. She ran to me and told me "shhhh", as if that's all she was told, just to be quiet. My heart was broken.....I wonder why the teacher just cannot sit with her for some time. Why the teacher just doesn't want to play with her. Since other kids are already sleeping, why cannot the teacher cannot free their hands and help her? If you hate my daughter so much, why has no one told me what I need to do about it? I cannot imagine how helpless she must feel all this time. I pay almost $450 a week just so you can do this to my daughter??? And the teacher hides her outside of the camera as if everything is perfectly fine. How convenient?! 3 y/o is when the kids start to develop their values and social skills, and this is the first thing you want them to learn? To single out those you don't like?

They are always looking to partner for what is best for each child. They constantly are posting updates and photos and the camera is a wonderful feature to see my child exploring. The facility is always clean, safe, and welcoming, and my daughter is constantly exploring, learning, and growing in such a positive environment. Our two toddlers have been going there already, and then our childcare fell through for our infants. They were super helpful getting us registered and the girls have adjusted easily. They give us frequent updates via a phone app so that we know what activities they are doing and how their napping, eating, and diapers have been going. Our 4year old brought an issue to us which we shared with management. They were receptive to our complaint and immediately investigated and closely observed his interactions with a teacher over the next week or two. They shared their findings with us and used their classroom cameras to confirm. Ultimately it was not an issue and our 4yo is still happy and enjoying his time there.

He wanted to play with the toys and didn't want to transition to the next room without crying. The school complained about him that day in regards to that incident. They seemed to have no empathy towards my son and did not extend any courtesy on allowing him to get comfortable with the teachers, environment or learn their routine. The following week, I was completely caught off guard by receiving an email that states they came to a conclusion that they can't handle his outbursts and feel that he needs extra support that they can't give and that they PRAYED about it with the other staff and felt like God gave them HIS blessing that they should give up on this sweet 4 year old boy. I mean, of course, God doesn't want a child to learn more about Him and the Bible, that makes total sense! I was stunned by this remark and am disgusted how they would weaponize prayer to enhance their personal, inconceivable agenda. They also used an excuse that they are a small school which is nonsense because now my son is at a small school and the teacher there is more than accommodating on giving him time to get to know him, understand his personality and allow him to get familiar with their learning techniques. Almost all schools that I talked to while trying to find a new school agreed with me on that and thought it was absolutely ridiculous for him to be kicked out and judged so quickly. Way of faith has NO FAITH in a child to adapt at their own pace and doesn't seem interested in wanting to bring out the best in your child. If your child doesn't fit their mold they will kick you out and you will be scrambling to figure out what to do next. I'm glad my son is too young to understand this situation because this would have hurt him to know he was not accepted and given up on. I never would have expected a Christian school to do this.

What stands out to me is that the teachers are here because they care and not because they need the money. The teachers are older which means they have more experience and are not going to leave the second they find a job that pays better (an experience we had at another local preschool). The school is "old school" so unlikely another local preschool we were at that played Paw Patrol and PJ Masks episodes every day, there is almost no screen time (just on rainy days when they can't go to the playground). Finally, the class size is small (about 5 kids). Not only does this mean more one on one attention, but in this era where everyone is worried about getting sick, I value my kids being able to attend school and me getting my work done. (In comparison, the other preschool my kids attended had 20-24 kids per class and I did not have a single week that at least one of my kids was home sick for at least a day.)
