Gross and fine motor skills are worked on at each developmental stage starting with tummy time to using a writing utensil by toddlerhood. Children develop their language skills through music, offered once a week in English and once a week in Spanish. Classrooms are arranged for materials and activities to be accessed by children independently. Children are provided an opportunity to participate in educational activities of personal choice, following the Montessori approach. The teachers are so loving and clearly care deeply for the kids. My baby bursts into a big smile each morning when we drop him off with his teachers. We get daily updates on bottles/food and diaper changes, plus photos of him solo and him interacting with the other babies in the classroom. From day one they were supportive, understanding, and made it an easy transition. Two years later, it is obvious that the entire staff cares deeply for each and every student. It feels like they are family!! I really can't say enough good things about the staff. Our son's teachers have been amazing and I feel as though they truly care about my child, continually encouraging his learning and development. Even as we have moved up in classrooms, his former teachers still check in with him and want to see how he is doing. They clearly love what they do and being with the children. I don't know how they do it, but Sharon and Monica at the front desk know the names of every single parent and child. It is seriously impressive, and shows their dedication and love of working with the children. The entire staff is wonderful!! The building is very secure, and the classrooms are kept immaculately clean on a daily basis. The hours are great for those with long work days. They provide food and a weekly menu that looks very nutritious and diversified. They have a chef on staff that cooks the meals right in the building. Not only does this save us time, it reduces food envy among the kids, and makes our days a ton easier. They also adapt easily for kids with allergies. What I love most is that they have a curriculum for every classroom. I have heard many parents say that infants don't need a curriculum, but at 2 we can see a clear difference in our son's learning vs. others his age. He learned sign language, English, and Spanish simultaneously! And without prompting he surprised us and counted to 10...he isn't even 2 years old yet!!! We are continuously amazed at how much he learns every day. It is clear that they have done thorough research into academic learning theories and methodologies and have combined the best of all of them into one great curriculum that works!!! I have no doubt that we are setting our son up for a lifetime of learning because of how they approach childhood cognitive development. Primrose uses Tadpoles to send photos and daily reports, which keeps us very in tune with his daily lessons. We get weekly reports on what they are learning and tips of how parents can integrate the lesson plans at home to continue the learning. We love the photos and videos that we get every day. He is always so happy to be there and enjoying the many activities. I highly recommend Primrose of Ashburn! We were not really happy with the experience in that establishment (particularly the management), but it worked with our schedule, was close, and my son enjoyed his time there. I took my son out of school in September 2019, right before I went on maternity leave. I had told the old establishment my son and daughter would start back up in Feb 2020. I followed up with the management in November, and I thought we were good to go. I walked in on our first day in February and we noticed the name outside the building was different and all the employees were different. We were greeted by Ms. Dimple who informed me that Pinebrook has left the establishment back in December. At first I was scared, I had no idea who I was leaving my child with. But Ms. Dimple sat and spoke with me. I could already tell my son was in great hands. The experience at Freedom has been ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I receive daily photos of my children. The teachers all truly care for the kids and the communication between management and myself and my husband has been incredible. Also, they have taken great steps to step reduce children's exposure to COVID.

He started in the infant room at 3 months old, and has grown up with almost all of his classmates from infancy through toddlerhood! It has been amazing to watch his class grow together. At the beginning, I was nervous about heading back to work after my maternity leave ended and leaving such a young baby in the care of other people for 7-8 hrs a day. By the end of his first week at PSOC, I felt so much better and my guilt had subsided! The staff and his teachers empathized and were there to talk me through any questions or concerns I had. They made it such a smooth transition, and I felt confident leaving him in their care. Over two years later, I've consistently had great interactions with the leadership team, staff, and teachers. They adore my son, and the most important thing of all is my son LOVES to be at PSOC! He is happy and continues to learn at an astounding pace, always coming home with new phrases and words he learned at school, or art projects he completed with the teachers. COVID-19 has been challenging for all of us, but PSOC has went above and beyond during this difficult time. They have been communicative, transparent, and followed safety protocols. That's all we can really ask for, and I've been impressed by the way they have handled the pandemic. We'll unfortunately be moving to California this summer of 2021, and I'm already starting to look for new preschools for my son. It's been so hard to find somewhere as great as PSOC - we will miss them dearly! Between their flexible operating hours for those of us with longer work days, amazing staff, school-provided lunches, great curriculum, and clean facility and playground, it'll be hard to find something comparable.
