I just had Grimes Plumbing out to my house to install a new faucet fixture in a bathroom sink. The…read moreguy doing the job slipped as he was cutting the drain pipe, and hit the sink, which broke. When I spoke to his boss (a co-owner) by phone, I was immediately told that the cost of the sink would be my responsibility. The owner that I spoke to was aggressive and hostile from the very moment I began speaking to him. He made no effort to apologize for the damage or to say any mollifying words whatsoever. His first words to me were this: "Sir, this is not our responsibilty. Here's what's going to happen: we will find a replacement sink and it will be charged to you along with the installation cost of the fixture." When I objected, he told me to get off "his worker's phone" (it was my own phone that I had lent to the worker in question). I am a reasonable person and I am not accustomed to receiving this kind of treatment from anyone, much less a company one would expect to value its relations with its customers. Needless to say, I sent the plumber on his way. I will never call Grimes again and I will spend the next 10 years telling this account to all my friends and acquaintances. I had an electrician and a construction worker doing work on my house at the same time, and they were dumbfounded at the way I had been treated. It seems to me that Grimes just bought themselves some rather expensive and damaging P.R. The worst thing is, I originally called Grimes based on the rating they had gotten here on the HT site. My electrician later told me that Grimes is known for having the very highest rates of any plumbing outfit in town. I would advise you not to do business with them. If their rates cant purchase security for the client, they are not worth it.

They sent a guy who spoke little English who said he could demo the bathroom in half a day. He proceeded to cut two water lines and LEAVE 20 min later without telling me (I was in the house). I called Riverway, they said he was overwhelmed and can't do the job and they can send someone else Tuesday. (This was Friday). I needed our water main back on, the girl on phone said she can send someone OR my crew can turn it back on "either way". My crew turned it on. Hours later I get home and realize my basement is flooded and ceiling busted through under the shower. Riverway owner was horrible on the phone to me!! "Your crew turned the main back on so legally I don't have to pay for this!" Terrible tone and attitude to me so my husband then took over. Riverway refused to pay for the service master cleanup/fans and has now ghosted us! All over $3,000 worth of repairs. I've texted owner multiple times and he will not respond so we have to pay for it ourselves. I'm telling everyone I know to never ever ever use Riverway!!!!

I'm a contractor from New Orleans. My sister is building a house in Bloomfield Indiana. She asked…read morefor me to come tile her bathrooms. So mid March me and my father came up to stay. Luckily we got away from New Orleans just in time before the coronavirus hit. Once I arrive I was first impressed with the foundation work. After talking with my sister she told me that this was supposed to be a four-month project. All the while she would be staying in a camper on the property. 10 months later she's still in the camper and the house is far from done. His workers I believe are all work release from jail or ex-convicts that he pays $10 an hour with very little experience. He was even robbed twice while working on my sister's house. Stealing his work truck and tools. Everyone was very unprofessional that he subbed the workout to besides the stone installer and painter. 10 months later in the siding is still not finished on the outside. The inside was painted and the floors we're down but the windows were dripping rainwater and saturating the finished floors and walls. Then the kitchen, he made the kitchen plans on a 2x4 which caused the fabricator to remake five different cabinets at my sister's expense. first installed the lower cabinets in the upper cabinets 12 inches apart and said that there was no standard but yet you couldn't even fit a coffee maker in between. That's whenever I knew there was a real problem. I brung it to his attention and he was embarrassed. So much that he wanted a meeting the next day to tell my sister and brother-in-law that he would be pulling off the job as long as me and my father where there. Keep in mind there is a major pandemic across the globe and New Orleans is a major hotspot. My sister wanting her house finished said that we could go somewhere else and begged him to not leave. The house is still not finished and probably has another two months so a four month project turn into a year. Save yourself the trouble and find a professional.
