HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!! Worst customer service in my life. We hired them for master bathroom renovation. They sent a guy who spoke little English who said he could demo the bathroom in half a day. He proceeded to cut two water lines and LEAVE 20 min later without telling me (I was in the house). I called Riverway, they said he was overwhelmed and can't do the job and they can send someone else Tuesday. (This was Friday). I needed our water main back on, the girl on phone said she can send someone OR my crew can turn it back on "either way". My crew turned it on. Hours later I get home and realize my basement is flooded and ceiling busted through under the shower. Riverway owner was horrible on the phone to me!! "Your crew turned the main back on so legally I don't have to pay for this!" Terrible tone and attitude to me so my husband then took over. Riverway refused to pay for the service master cleanup/fans and has now ghosted us! All over $3,000 worth of repairs. I've texted owner multiple times and he will not respond so we have to pay for it ourselves. I'm telling everyone I know to never ever ever use Riverway!!!! read more

We had a new hot water heater put in recently and working great. Really enjoyed interaction with the technician and he provided me with both verbal instructions and written information on the new system. I also inquired about a home filtration system and was advised not really needed with the better quality of water in Monroe County. A recommendation was made for a sediment filter system as we have had some issues with some PEX water lines and their inline filters that were installed less than 10 years ago by a different plumbing company. Where do I start? Tech (Neil) showed up 45 minutes late, without calling. Was in my home no more than 10 minutes. Explained to me how water pressure works which being 63 yrs old, I kind of know this already. The only actual work performed was him removing his boots before entering my home. (which I appreciated). As mentioned, 10 minutes later and being charged $95 for what I assume was a service call, seems a bit pricey. Oh well, lesson learned. An education from Harvard costs a lot more than $95 read more

Decided to give them a shot after seeing their new building down the road. I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks in advance for a water pressure issue. Never showed up at scheduled time. Called them and they gave me a time 3 hrs later. Did not show up 1 hr after second scheduled time. Called and cancelled! That's a day of my life I will not get back! read more

No mask, I asked them out for a sewage smell... and I wanted all my bathroom drains cleared but he looked right at my shower and said it was not going to workout with his tools or snack thing.. it's not a crazy shower just a built in stand alone.. he changed the ring on the toilet and was in and out. A clarification first. I live in Bloomington, IN, not California as my address shows. This review is about the Riverway Plumbing in Bloomington. Very dishonest person. Our general contractor hired him to do the plumbing for our bathroom renovation. First day on the job, he flooded our kitchen below because he forgot to seal a pipe. He was profusely apologetic to us saying it was his mistake. I was ready to accept it as an unfortunate accident until I heard from the general contractor that the plumber claimed, behind our back, that it was our fault because we turned on the water too soon. That was a big fat lie - he told us he was finished and we could turn the water back on. I find the dishonesty unacceptable. I would stay away from this plumber. read more

My hot water heater wasn't working so I called numerous plumbers. Riverway was the only one who could make it out in a timely manner. They came out in the morning, got a part ordered (the water heater was under warranty), and showed me how to install the part (very simple) so that I wouldn't be charged for another service call. Sometimes it's the simplest of jobs where you learn that a company is honest and won't overcharge you. You couple that with the speed of service and it doesn't get any better! read more

I hired Riverway to fix a plumbing issue I had in a house that I had an accepted offer on. They came and told me the problem and said they had to order some parts. That is the last I heard from them. Great service! Fast response, reasonable rates, quality work. Got a new disposal and am very pleased with how quiet and efficient it is.

The problem began when the city installed new smart meters. My water bill went up $100 and I was told that I had a leak, that was not detected by the old meter. The leak was in the line from the house to the meter, so I called Riverway to find it and fix it. The guy who came out, Chad, told me that I would need to have the line located and he proceeded to call a locator and told me they would be out the following Thursday, he even wrote the day on my receipt. They showed up on Wednesday when I was at the doctor. They called me and told me they were in my driveway, they said they were told to be there on Wednesday. This was the 1st error. Then I was told that the office person would find a new locator for me, after not hearing from her, I called back 3 days later and spoke with Neal. He told me that the locators come from Indianapolis only when there is more than 1 call. Really? So I had to wait for someone else to call? He said he could rush it but it would cost me $300 more. I told him that didn't make any sense to me. He then said he would come out the next day. Unfortunately, I had a family emergency, so I called to reschedule. I was told that if I waited until next week, it would cost me $95, which I already paid, but if he came out today it would be free. I had only had 2 hours sleep and my daughter was ill, but that didn't matter. Neal was going on vacation next week, so a service man would have to come out. Neal is the owner. Also, he was going to locate the water line. Didn't he tell me that would cost me $300 and another company had to do it? Liar. Anyway, don't call them. They only care about the money, not the customer. the only reason I gave this 1 star is for the girl in the office. She was pleasant and tried her best to help. read more

I called on Neil with Riverway Plumbing after a major flood in my condo. He responded immediately to the emergency, and did an incredibly thorough job. Neil was able to identify the source of the leak in one day. Because of the unusual nature of the flood (caused by exterior issues), four other companies were called upon to investigate further for an interior problem. No interior leaks were ever found, but three other companies confirmed Neil's findings. He's good at his job. In addition to being a very smart man, Neil communicates well, is kind, and very helpful overall. I highly recommend Riverway Plumbing! read more

I wish I had pictures of the PRV&main shutoff valve Brian installed before I asked him to fix it. First, he installs the main shut off in such close proximity to the prv that the handle of the shutoff does not clear the prv. So the answer to that? Bend the shit out of the handle of the brand new shutoff. It looked ridiculous I was so upset. Moving on, we go to test the prv, he asks me what direction to turn to turn the pressure up&down. What plumber asks questions like that? He allowed NO cure time for the glue, so upon testing the prv it began to squeal and hiss (he said that was normal) apparently glue became trapped in the prv so it failed. Moving on, since he has to replace valve he just ruined I asked him to turn the main shutoff the correct way so that it could clear the prv, and to bend the handle back. I also have to ask for a copper pipe extension piece between the prv and main shutoff so that he doesn't pull my pvc pipes down to the valve to make it fit. I could go on, the whole experience was unprofessional and stressful. Next time I'll just glue the damn thing on myself. At the end of the experience, he was on time, but what could have been a quick job was a nerve racking 4 hour job. $150 Later, I'm still stressed wondering if anything will go wrong with the work that was done on my home. My recommendation? Won't be calling these guys back, still don't know any plumbers I can trust, disappointed because I need more work done here but don't have a professional to hire. If I hadnt stepped in, I'd have some bent ass pipes and a useless valve and would have paid $170 instead of the $150 I asked to pay. ($20 off since the main switch is bent all to hell) Stressed, just glad the prv is working so far. I could leave more review but I think I've shared enough. read more

Neil is fast, efficient. Replaced our leaking, defective water heater in 2 hrs. We always call Neil when we have a plumbing problem

In the spring of 2016 I noticed a leak in my frost free yard hydrant. I called Neil Patzner of Riverway Plumbing to repair it. He repaired it and provided me with an invoice for a total of $309.10. This past Christmas (December 2016) I was on vacation in Washington State when the faucet developed another leak and flooded the whole area around it before my wife noticed it and called me. I had her call Neil Patzner and tell him that the faucet he had repaired last year was leaking again we needed someone to come repair it. He told her that he had told me last spring that the repair he had made might not hold because it needed further work,This was totally untrue. If he had told me at the time that the repair required more work I would have had him do the work. I wanted my faucet FIXED, not taped up with a band aid repair. I would never have agreed to any fix that was considered temporary. At first, he refused to come out to work on the faucet and demanded to be paid up front. I think he was afraid that I would not pay him, as I had already paid him for one faulty repair on this faucet and really he should have been fixing his original shoddy work without expecting payment. But I was in no position to do anything but try to get someone to cease the water that was leaking at my business. He sent two men out to do the job. They finished the job several hours later and he sent me a text with the amount of the bill ($ 527.36) He then sent me a text telling me that if he didn't receive payment within 30 mins he was going to go out and tear out all of the work that had been done already. I had to step out of the restaurant to call him back. He was belligerent and rude and threatening. I paid the invoice via Pay Pal. I think having to pay $836.45 is crazy read more

I was in search of a plumber this weekend (Saturday) to fix my kitchen sink disposal. Riverway was 4th on my list to call. (I chose businesses somewhat randomly from listings in the yellow pages and on craigslist, as I had no recommendations to go on.) The 1st company I called wouldn't provide an estimate over the phone and had a hefty service charge. The 2nd company was closed, and the 3rd had a non-working number. When I called Riverway, Neil answered the phone right away, assessed my problem and provided estimate over the phone. He came when he said he would (same day), and fixed the disposal in a jiffy. The price was very reasonable, and he didn't charge extra for the weekend visit. He also offered a warranty with the repair. I would definitely recommend and call Riverway again if I ever need a plumber. Competent, friendly and professional service! read more

Neil is a very thoughtful and smart plumber. My mother in law's house has had very low hot water pressure for years despite having copper pipes for the hot water. Many people have looked at it throughout the years but Neil is the first person to carefully think through the issues and come up with a step by step plan to isolate the issue. We are happy to have not only improved the hot water pressure but also the cold water pressure. Neil also took time to explain his thought process and communicated with us each step of the way.
