This morning I walked into the kitchen and discovered that water was leaking from under the kitchen sink. Within two hours Commercial Service had a plumber at our house. He discovered two sources of the leaking water, fixed one immediately and restored water supply to the rest of our house. He recommended a new kitchen faucet to replace ours, which was part of the problem, checked local availability and I was able to pick it up on my way home from a medical appointment. Soon after I got home, another Commercial Service plumber arrived, installed the faucet and double checked to make sure that the dishwasher wasn't part of the problem. Before the second plumber arrived, the first plumber had contacted a mitigation company and they sent a rep to evaluate the situation. By the middle of the afternoon they began the work of drying out the areas that had been affected by the leak. We had a complex HVAC system installed in 2022 by a now-defunct contractor. Unfortunately, that install was mishandled from the start, and we spent nearly two years dealing with performance issues, system failures, and multiple service calls from other companies--none of which were able to fully resolve the problems. Commercial Services was the fourth company we called--but the first to get everything working properly. To be clear: they were not responsible for the original install. We were referred to them through Trane, and they've been exceptional from day one. They came out in the spring and got every component of our system running correctly. They returned today for our seasonal checkup, and everything continues to perform as it should. Their technicians are skilled, courteous, and honest. They show up when they say they will, communicate clearly, and take pride in their work. While I did pay for their services, I was happy to--because they actually fixed the problems and treated us fairly throughout. From beginning to end, the experience was wonderful Brian answered the phone, and sent out Glenn and Sam to detect and fix an air conditioning blockage. There was water, pulling around the area by the unit in the basement, but there was also another leak from the garage ceiling to the basement floor. Since I already had a contract for HVAC, on the spot, I purchased a contract for plumbing because I have been so impressed with the company. And wanted to get this fixed immediately, despite the fact that I have a home warranty. The home warranty company was not willing to send someone out until three days later, but Commercial Service sent Sam and Glenn over within 30 minutes of my call to Brian. While they were fixing my air conditioning unit, they called and asked if he had anyone they could send out under contract for plumbing, and he sent Bo and Noah. They were both spectacular, as well. They were able to explain what needed to be done to find the leak, and I agreed and ask them to proceed. Soon thereafter, they trace the leak to be a crack in the poly plastic tube under the kitchen sink that runs to the freezer to make ice. They walked me through the next steps to make it which involved reaching out to home insurance company, which is also , State Farm with Becca by the College Mall. Anyway, Commercial Service and State Farm have worked with each other quite a bit, and they advocated for the work of the other. In addition, Bo recommended that Core Restoration be part of my process, and I agreed because I've had such wonderful experience from all of the above, thus far. And it turned out to be true, as the guys from Core Restoration came over today to move the process along beautifully. Noah and Bo were terrific. I cannot say enough, how much it meant to have Commercial Service treat me so well in this process. That says so much, having such a positive experience in the middle of two unexplained leaks. The skill and kindness exhibited on all levels was outstanding. I am telling everyone I know about Commercial Sevice. To be clear - this review is not based on my experience with them directly. A former renter of mine called on them to service the furnace for winter. They did the standard checkup. I realized later they left a sticker not just indicating they serviced it, but also installed it. When I expressed my concern, they were very quick about getting back to me. So while I haven't had any personal interactions, their customer service seems good. I think it would be better to leave a notice that you simply serviced the unit, though. Don't imply you installed it when you didn't. read more

We are still doing business with Commercial Service and they are my go to company for anything HVAC or plumbing. Our second year in the house our AC went out. It was over 20 years old, possibly more. After calling Peterman's for a quote and getting a $35,000 price tag from them, I called Commercial Service and got the Trane AC we wanted and a new furnace for around $10k! They even upgraded our AC because they had a bigger model in stock and gave it to us for no additional cost. For a house this size you need a good size air conditioner, so we were thrilled. Peterman wasn't even offering us a Trane for that price. They wanted us to buy a brand out of Indianapolis that I've never heard of before. We also just had the guys out again to reseal a couple of our toilets... Like I said, old house! They came the very next morning, on time and did it without overcharging us. This review is for both Commercial Service HVAC service AND their partner company, R & S Plumbing. Two years ago, when we bought our home in Bloomington, the HVAC system needed to be upgraded. The estimate we received from Commercial Service was the most reasonable we received and they had the quality HVAC equipment we wanted. The installation was not easy (very tight space in our cellar) but they did a great job. We have them come back every year for seasonal maintenance and they are friendly and efficient. Regarding R & S Plumbing, we had them install a sump pump in our cellar when we first moved in. Another difficult installation that they made look easy. Yesterday I discovered a leak under the kitchen sink. It was 3:30PM but the dispatcher from R & S was able to get a plumber over to our house within 30 minutes. The plumber who arrived was awesome. He found the leak right away and not only repaired it, but showed me why it was leaking. He also tested his repair several times to ensure that all was well.
