When you walk into CPL on Binz, you are greeted by an iPad-sized computer on a 3-foot stick, just to the left of a window where a person probably used to sit. You type in your name and sit. I was called to come back after just a few minutes by a cheerful woman, who asked for more info to find my file and doctors' orders. She was good with a needle. I hardly felt a thing. Everything went smoothly, and I was out of there in a few minutes. Parking still cost $7. Ouch. The "Q" labs had locations with free parking, so I missed that. But CPL has my vote for needle skills and friendliness, based on my one visit.

Tried calling a couple times, but only got the answering machine. I went ahead and made the appointment because I figured if they are in the business to do blood draws, surely they have encountered tiny veins like mine. Unfortunately for me, that was not the case. The tech was kind and I was hopeful, but he was not able to get the needle in my vein. I prefer not to let them "dig" for it and, to his credit, he didn't seem to want to do that to me. He offered to let me sit for a few minutes and then try again. I declined. TLDR; if you have tiny veins, are a "hard stick" or need any other type of "accommodation, you'll be better off at a Quest Lab location.

I checked into Quest via my phone, received a response back quickly they were ready for me. This location was very convenient for me in terms on getting my blood work done and getting to work at a reasonable time. Booking the appointment was painless, text reminders were just right, not too many and not to few. About an hour before my appointment received a reminder and COVID question. Easy Peasy. I hate hate hate having blood work done. My veins are very small and it's usually a painful event. Notice I said usually??? That's right, one stick in my hand and the blood was flowing. I'm a happy camper, I'm in and out in less than 15 minutes and pain free. No large bruises on my arms , no bruise on my hand.

I asked "ok but I have appointment, why didn't you notify patients with appointments? And does that other location take walk-ins considering your issues." She said "i don't know." She didn't acknowledge her complete failure to notify me in advance. She showed more enthusiasm putting scotch tape to a paper on their door than dealing with patients. Poor professionalism. Solution: If the location is going to be closed in the middle of an afternoon, call your patients with appointments in advance before they drop by and have to deal with that cold and dry staff.

I visited the clinic to be examined for possible concussion. I arrived at the clinic at about 10:30 AM. After paperwork (identification, insurance, symptoms etc.) I saw Dr. Hopkins within 15 minutes. She examined, diagnosed and discharged me all within 20 minutes. She was thorough, efficient and caring. I was back at my office by 11:15 AM. I don't think I have ever had such efficient care from any medical facility in my life. And Mary, the receptionist was wonderful, thorough and compassionate.
