Was out of town and trying to shake a persistent, flu-like malaise so popped into these guys one night as it was close to my hotel. Ran a PCR (no flu, pneumonia, COVID) so they prescribed me 5 kinds of medicine including two antibiotics and an inhaler, (although doctor said it was more than likely viral) and two steroid jabs in my backside. Struck me as a 'throwing the kitchen sink' approach. I knew it was out of network, but when I saw my claim my jaw-dropped. They billed my insurance company just over $18,500. I was there for 30 minutes, with doctor for less than 5. You know that O2 sensor they put on your finger for 5 seconds? $244. Just criminal. read more

Last Saturday evening, my husband asked me to take him to an ER as there was a giant abscess around his butt area. It had been hurting him so much! Anyway, I was debating where to take him as we had very bad experiences with different ER back then. Per my 11 year old boy's suggestion (He kept saying oh let's go to that ER near Total Wine and More/Chop Shop/Pokeworks), we decided to take my husband to Post Oak ER as it is only less than 10 minutes away from our home! We want to stick with the uptown Galleria area. We surely glad to visit Post Oak ER! We felt very welcoming once we got in there! Meg was very sweet, polite and professional. She asked us the reason for the visit. My husband told her what happened briefly. Then she handed me the paperwork. In the meanwhile, she was able to get my husband on a bed so he could lay down immediately to subside the pain as much as possible! While I was filling out the paperwork, she kept assuring us that everyone at the practice will take great care of my husband! Once Meg got the paperwork, she got it processed ASAP. While my son and I were waiting, she offered us snacks, coffee and water! I never had offers like this from other ERs! It surely made me feel like home. We felt less stressful. Meg then explained to us that Post Oak ER is operated by 2 doctors. Everything isn't the same like the other ERs that are run by hospital districts. When I was about to make the copay, Meg told me that she waived it because she wanted to be kind to us! It was very unexpected. Although there was 6 people ahead of us, Meg was about to get my husband's treatment going in less than 1 hour. My husband's pain level was 8 when we arrived. By the time he was released, it was down to 2! All the staff there were super friendly, professional, etc. The facility appeared to be very well maintained, cleaned, organized and of course very welcoming. Thank you very much to the entire team: Dr. Siler, Daniel, Jacque and Meg!!! Everything went super smooth. Zero complaint. Dr. Siler did say that they may have to send my husband to the hospital for surgery, but very thankful that situation (unable to drain the abscess if that was the case). She didn't even try to actually examine what's going on. I left because i was without a doubt stereotyped. All my past experiences here have been great. I have no problem paying the exorbitant costs that come afterwards from visiting here. FYI the system is you get a bill in the mail later cause you'll never know how much it will cost here, which adds up to a pretty penny afterwards usually. But this place is exactly what you want in an ER. Understanding, and thorough and quick. I love this place. But apparently now they hire people who are all over the the worldwide and national news for threats, trespass, and childish lewd acts of revenge and harassment against others families? I was absolutely shocked with my most recent visit, once the doctor walked in due to her attitude, my goal was no longer my health, but to just to get out of this persons presence. This shock from my visit led me to simply google my doctors name, and I was met with articles on her past plastered on the news, her previous actions could not of fit better with her demeanor and unprofessionalism. In my mind PostOakER is, or was, a remarkable establishment that one should take great pride in owning, operating, or working in, providing a one of a kind service in the sea of poorly run emergency rooms. A true anomaly. But I guess the people they hire no longer fit that standard, a doctors record may now be clean according to procedural background checks, but a simple google search would tell you everything you need to know about this persons character or lack of and how it is brought to patients everyday. read more

We had checked into in Marriott in the Galleria area of Houston. After consulting brother and friends, the hotel referred us to Post Oak ER in Houston. Kristen... Sweet countenance at the Front Desk greeted us: "You have come to the right place." Amazingly... she proved correct. Within 10 minutes my wife and I were in the exam room of the most WONDERFUL ER Team I've EVER encountered. I felt as a car in for a pit stop at INDY. Great doc, and two nurses. They confirmed I had "slow AFib" and urged we go home and meet cardiologists ASAP. Which we did. Thieu: Nurse Whitley: X-Ray/CT Tech, phlebotomist Doctor Shkelzen Hoxhaj, our doc: Dr Hoxhaj was just credibly competent in heart physiology, and communicative during the whole examination process. Explained that I had "slow AFib," but that blood chemistry showed I'd not had a heart attack. Comforting. I WANT Doc Hoxhaj as my primary care physician! Upon checkout, Kristen gave us a package with some snacks, cup, all medical records generated by PostOak ER: EKG, extensive blood chemistry, vital (BP, temp, pulse) data and other parameters. Then... came the co-Pay-- which Kristen explained was "optional"-- up to $100. My wife and I were so relieved and impressed that we paid the $100 co-Pay. Then, we then went out to our Jeep to retrieve several pounds of cajun sausage intended for my brother, and gave them to Kristen with instructions to deliver to POST Oak ER staff. Wait! Fast forward to 20December2023... We followed up with FloridaBlue to monitor payments from them. There were issues between FloridaBlue and Medicare. FloridaBlue connected us with POST Oak ER and Desk Agent Hamsa who assured that all was OK. Then... 20December2023 Hamsa followed up by calling me, requesting a phone call. And I'm thinking... this is where POST Oak ER will charge us $1Ks for our visit. NOT... Hamsa told me that the $100 coPay we provided would be assumed by POST Oak ER and that ALL charges for all the EKG, blood chemistry and so on are considered paid by POST Oak ER. Is this too good to be true? Seems like it. NEVER had ANY ER even close to our experience. So far.. I consider POST Oak ER to be true Angels in our Midst. Coming from out of state, I was not really sure what to expect. I was really blown away. The speed and level of care was phenomenal. I went in with a leg/ankle injury and they got me in, ordered imaging, and proceeded to assess and get me out in a couple of hours. In my opinion Post Oak ER is gouging patients who come in for covid testing. Here is my story, over a year ago I came in for a rapid antigen covid test and a covid antibody test. I paid the co-pay and went on with my day. I find out later that my health insurer was billed $2,907.42 for the service, and according to my insurer I owe $633 out of pocket for the two covid test. This is absolutely ridiculous. I have no problem paying out of pocket for covid testing but to charge someone $633 for a rapid covid test and a covid antibody test is ludicrous. I've appealed the claim to my insurer twice but it looks like I'm going to be on the hook for the $633. read more

This was my second experience at Post Oak ER and each time I go, I am so impressed with their kindness and care. This recent time I went in for some heart concerns and the woman at the front desk was very quick and personable. I was seen by two nurses right away who made me feel comfortable and set me up carefully for my vitals. They were really professional and friendly which put me at ease. Finally I was seen by the physician who took the time to explain everything to me and alleviate the anxieties I was having about my heart and fears about Afib. The entire team did such a great job and they were so professional and kind. I am grateful for their work and time. read more

Took my sister to Post Oak ER for vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain. We were helped immediately. The staff was very kind and helpful. Ultimately she was transferred to the hospital for surgery. Somehow I hurt my shoulder and I was in excruciating pain. 5-10 minute wait time to see doc. He greeted and checked me out immediately. Took X-rays and then the nurse came fairly soon. I just wanted to be relieved of the pain. She gave me two shots. I waited for 15 minutes to ensure there was no reaction and was released. BTW, this was late at night. read more

I seriously can't believe how amazing my experience was at Post Oak ER! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a super friendly receptionist. She answered all of my questions about precautionary Covid testing and insurance fees (with plenty of patience). When I was called back after about a 40 minute wait, I was again met with the friendliest staff. Both the nurse and doctor were exceptionally personable, and they put my paranoid mind at ease. I was at the ER for a total of 1 hour and 45 minutes. Later that night, I got the results for my PCR test! All things considered, I would definitely go back if I weren't in a big time crunch. 5 star service from all team members! I came in late Friday night with terrible stomach pains and front desk receptionist was so soothing and relaxing letting me know I'll be okay and that I would be seen quickly. That was very true! The nurses, ultrasound tech, and ct scan tech were also very kind and concerned and got me feeling more calm and a lot less pain very quickly! doctor mollawi was very knowledgeable and also soothing gave me great treatment and in depth follow up instructions! Thank you again dr mollawi, nurse terse ct tech any and receptionist Ashley for making my experience positive. Employees were pleasant and professional . However after the fact - a covid test required prior to eye surgery - a bill was submitted to my insurance carrier for over $3800 - which is outrageous . When I went to discuss the facility told me to call billing, yet billing then referred me back to the facility . Neither that this was egregious for a one minute test - not seen by a physician and didn't require medical attention . I have had four such tests at Methodist without any similar issues . Post Oak ER is the Unicorn of Emergency Rooms! Everyone on the staff is so nice and goes above and beyond to ensure your comfortable. I went in for a bite that swelled up my leg. The nurse took the time to explain everything and even show pictures to help ease my anxiety! The front desk lady was so sweet and funny I forgot I was even in pain for a few minutes! I have been in ER rooms a few hundred times in my life and never received such great service! Then the icing on the cake, doctor called me a day later and checked up on me!! Never once has a ER doc ever followed up! Not once! And I'm 33 years old! So this is why I took the time to write this review so everyone can know this place is doing it right! Dr Angela's diagnosis saved my life! After months of incorrect t diagnosis, she was the one who immediately could see the real reason for my constant pain.
