As many times they can fill a prescription they cannot because they either don't have the medicine on the premises or don't carry it and send me to CVS. Owners seem better at stocking up on greeting cards and cheap cosmetics. A giant step down from Nordon's. Hours seem limited, I guess, to save on salaries. Who knows. read more

I used Onpoint for the first time because my pharmacy did not carry the compounded mouthwash medicine prescribed. 1) They did not tell me in advance that my insurance did not cover it. 2) There were no instructions to swish in mouth for 5 minutes or not to eat/drink for 1/2 after using. 3) There were no precautions that it contained Benadryl and could make me drowsy, and I am highly sensitive to Benadryl. 3) They did not provide a cup or syringe to measure the 5 ml dose and they did not tell me not to drink from the bottle as it can cause bacteria to form, which could cause an infection. 4) They did not tell me to keep it refrigerated. This is totally irresponsible and unacceptable from a pharmacy. read more

Please tell me WHY if there is NO medication and you have NO idea when you will get it in that you CANNOT at the very least call the client and inform them of this. I get there are shortages BUT tell the client who needs the medication. I am not talking about a Tylenol. This is blood thinners, blood pressure meds, water pills, pain medication. REQUIRED meds not just for a toothache. I AM TIRED of asking the pharmacy in Bayside and Floral Park to please just tell me sooner rather than later that you cannot get the med that is needed. If you do I go to another pharmacy for that one medication. Because of constant disregard you now lose all of my business and all of my family's business. read more

Been coming here over 27 yrs used to be a great pharmacist. I'm sorry to say since new owners and change to OnPoint things have changed for the worst. I support neighborhood small businesses, the staff behind the counter is always polite, friendly and very helpful but the pharmacy seems to be getting worse. Had a medication delivery and left on my porch that I didn't know about or request. Multiple times been shorted on pills dispensed, signed me up for auto-refill I didn't request, never have medications on hand take long to fill script and always making excuses that they had to get from their sister store, lied saying that one particular RX medication can be obtained OTC and they didn't have it try Rite-Aid or CVS, turns out it's by RX only. I will be making a complaint to the state since they don't know what they're doing. Sad that I have to find new pharmacy. read more

After seeing my doctor, I needed certain prescription medications quickly and I couldn't use the mail away so I went to OnPoint Pharmacy in Malverne. Not only was the price great, they took care to make sure I knew what to do as they gave me special instructions. It was a great, personal experience! What nice people, smart pharmacist who cares. Without going into detail I would like to give a shout out to Nordon Drugs. I had a situation pertaining to a few prescriptions that I was having difficulty with my health care insurance provider. Nordon's pharmacist spent at least an hour on the phone with my doctor and insurance company to get it resolved. No way you get this level of service from mail away plans or the chain pharmacies. I have not had a great deal of contact since it was Nordon Drugs... which was phenomenal... but from the 2-3 times I have interacted, the staff seems professional, friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help. My parents recently needed a prescription and were unable to pick-up at that time. How things have changed at Nordon Drugs over the past few months! As a 25-year customer, I am disappointed and angry at the way I've been treated since a new pharmacist took over. He is rude, officious, and disorganized, and fills prescriptions early, late, or when the spirit moves him. I was placed on autofill without being consulted, though I asked three times, both in writing and verbally, for my prescriptions to be filled only on request. I was told that all customers had been placed on autofill, and given a variety of excuses as to why. My favorite was when they blamed it on increased volume because of COVID-19. Give me a break - pharmacy benefit managers typically permit no more than 34 days worth of a drug at any one time, so most people couldn't have been getting early refills. It's also hard to believe that a drugstore could be that backed up with new prescriptions resulting from an illness that has no medications associated with its mitigation or cure. Nordon's voice mail system makes it hard to speak to anyone, and suggests instead that emails - which are ignored - be sent. A request for refills emailed on a Thursday was not filled until Monday, only after an argument with the pharmacist, who claimed that he arrived to 500 emails that morning, and had 61 prescriptions to fill before mine. I wonder why, if the shop is that busy, they've begun to close on Sundays, there never seem to be more than three customers in the store, and there's never a line to get inside. On a Monday morning in a well-run pharmacy, how could there have been 61 prescriptions ahead of a refill request sent the previous Thursday? To be completely fair, the people behind the register are always polite, friendly, and helpful. However, in New York, it is considered unprofessional conduct to "[perform] professional services which have not been duly authorized by the patient or client or his or her legal representative" (Part 29.1(a)(11) Unprofessional Conduct, The New York State Education Department Office of the Professions, Rules of the Board of Regents). If placement on autofill without permission and multiple unrequested prescription refills aren't unprofessional conduct, I don't know what is. I intend to make a complaint to the Office of the Professions at my first opportunity. read more

This has been my family pharmacy for as long as I can remember. The pharmacist and staff in the back are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. You really can disclose just about anything without feeling judged. Always a plus when talking about those mortifying ailments. Since I've moved to Massachusetts, I hadn't been back for about 5 years. Although, my parents are faithful disciples and continue to be. HOWEVER, on a more personal level, Nordons seems to be the only store in the greater sq. mile Malverne area that sells Arnold Palmer by the gallon. I would know. I have been a steady customer for almost 40 years. Never a problem and great staff. What happened?????? Is it a new owner? New staff? Shelves are empty. The male pharmacist is extremely rude and says anything to shut you up and get off the phone. If you can't handle the task at hand say so, don't lie about it. There are dates and times on all medications called in, filled and delivery release times. Seriously...... Careful, they fill rx's when then are not on the plan to auto refill. Same old story. They just don't know what happen..... And stop blaming your mistakes on your old employees. These are drugs you are dealing with, not groceries. I support small business and am a small business owner myself. If I ever treated my customers the way I have been treated, I would be out of business. read more

I consider myself incredibly lucky to live so close to an amazing local drug store like Nordon. The staff are incredibly kind, knowledgable, and courteous. During the Covid-19 crisis, they are a vital source of essential supplies and using social media to inform the neighborhood when they have shipments come in. Been a customer of theirs for almost a year. The pharmacist is very friendly but, due to micro management from a very unfriendly woman with green hair it disallows them to do their job properly. They have held up several prescriptions without notifying me and or my doctor. The woman is verbally rude to myself and my wife. In addition they have lied several times claiming it's insurance issue but after immediately contacting my insurance provider it was proven false. The boss is extremely rude and the entire staff walks on eggshells around her. I will be reporting them the the pharmacy board for the lies and slander. Do not use this store. I always loved keeping small business afloat but CVS and any other larger company changes my mind on this. I just want to say thank you very much to Sarit the owner of Nordon Drugs for helping me out. My husband is on the front line at JFK airport during this Coronavirus outbreak and I tried getting Lysol for him to take to work. I couldn't find it anywhere. So I called Nordon drugs and they said it is on back order but Sarit said they had one at home and they brought it to me at my house. My husband and I are so grateful for Sarit helping us in this time of need. I have been using Nordon drugs since we moved here 20 years ago. Thank you again and God bless and stay healthy and safe.
