The teriyaki chicken was cooked perfectly, not tough or salty. They did drown it in a bit in the teriyaki sauce. Extremely upset not at the restaurant but their payment processor for online transactions. Been making purchases on the app for years and now all of a sudden when I submit my order there is an error processing my payment. Which by the way has been used with no issues at other non-Olo payment services. It appears the issue is Olo the company that process the online transactions for Ono. From what I have read they have an ultra conservative fraud risk detection. This doesn't make sense as I have many transactions in store or online with my credit cards. Olo is horrible with customer service so there is no point in contacting them to resolve this issue. After quickly looking over the menu, I opted for the 2 meat plate which comes with rice and a side salad. The "fire chicken" was being promoted, so I decided to give it a try. I went with the katsu as my second for a safe bet. They have dispensers for katsu sauce and teriyaki sauce. The katsu sauce was much better in my opinion, the teriyaki was a bit too thick and over powering. - Fire chicken 10/10. Damn, this was some of the most flavorful chicken I've ever had. Tender and juicy, with a very vibrant red sauce. The flavor was sweet, tangy, and also spicy. It was very well balanced and the favor did not lose effect with each next bite. It did come with thick cut onions, they were a bit too raw for my taste, but no big deal as this chicken was insanely good. - Chicken katsu 8/10. It was good but nothing too special. Your basic katsu you'll find at all the hawaiin bbq spots. Absolutely needs katsu sauce as the breading is very dry and crunchy. The side salad is decent, fresh and has favor. Always reliable fast and good when I'm in Fremont for work. I prefer the kalua pork which is moist and very little fat. They let me get all rice. This specific location's having a really great BOGO running until the second week of September, which is how I got to try this. The katsu's nice and crispy, and really pairs perfectly with the available sauce. It's an insane amount of food for one plate (14.99), so be prepared to split it with others! But over all the definitely need to increase the potion size for the price, they literally give you more veggies than anything. My coworker got a mix plate, and he looked at it in anger, the amount of food in there is what you get for a mini bbq plate. I should have checked my order before I left, that way I could have just got my money back and left the food. My boss said his over easy eggs were over cooked way too much, they looked crispy brown. Tried this place for the first time as my boyfriend ordered takeout from here. I ordered a chicken and beef combo that came with two scoops of rice, a scoop of macaroni salad, and cabbage as the side vegetable. All in all, it's a solid joint for Hawaiian food. I can't really compare with Ohana or L&L though since it all tastes the same to me so far. This would probably be more of a distance thing so if this one is your closest one, go for it as the food is really good too. The chicken was cooked and seasoned/marinated perfectly and the beef wasn't overcooked. Perhaps as being nit picky, I'd like more of a variety for vegetables as it was all cabbage and one broccoli. The macaroni salad is absolutely delicious (though as are all Hawaiian bbq joints from my experience.) so nothing needs to change for that. On this visit to the fremont location we ordered the ono family meal for four. 3 meat choices (bbq beef, bbq chx and kalbi ) rice, mac salad and veggies (bed of cabbage and broccoli ) for 40.99 +6 extra for kalbi. I'm pretty sure the menu board says 38.99 for the ono family meal, but the charge was 40.99. Not sure what that's about... Bbq chx and beef are both tasty, not over salty or saucy. But this time the beef was full of unpleasant gristle...yuck. Don't think the 5 pieces of kalbi is worth the extra $6 premium, next time its chx katsu or double bbq beef).
