Beef Brisket Meal

Great little bbq spot in Fremont. Service was good and food came out very fast. Brisket was cooked well. Not too fatty. Please was clean. Kinda surprised it wasn't too busy for lunch. Would go back and try it again.

Burnt Ends

My friend raves about this place. Now I only tasted the burnt ends thats it. This is my review as someone who doesn't eat them. They were absolutely amazing! So tasteful they literally melt in your mouth. The service was quick and good.

Daughter wanted bbq so we came in. I noticed right away the place was very clean. Not very loud inside and plenty of TV's with games on. I thought the staff were very nice and made us feel welcome. All of our food came out fast and we enjoyed everything. They used to have live music but I asked the manager about it and the city has stopped all that. Bummer because I did come for it one night and had a lot of fun. If you want some bbq defiantly come in. Ribs and pulled pork I really enjoyed but the Mac N Cheese stole the show. Will return.

Finally got to try Smoking Pig BBQ in Fremont. Large place with a stage for live music. Middle of the afternoon so the place was empty. Only three employees, one of which was the bartender / server. Ordered the premium BBQ combo, chose the pork ribs (2) lean brisket, corn bread, Cole Slaw and added a side of burnt ends. The brisket was excellent tender and moist. Pork ribs were good. The burnt ends were the best. The slaw and corn bread were meh. The food was good $40 before tip. I know this is a BBQ joint but this is how I rate them. The sauces were very similar but the labels were worn and the spouts were crusty. Paper towel rolls are table side. The utensils are prison grade along with the trays. My fork was flatter than my knife.

Great service and ambience. Love the burnt ends and peanut butter pie! Our local hangout:)

Spot has plenty of parking available and dog friendly with outdoor sitting. Server as friendly, fast and knowledgeable of menu. Plenty of specials to choose from. Great spot if you're feeling the need for some delicious bbq. The outdoor area could use some TLC. Tables and chairs looked weather worn and no ambiance .

We spent about $60 on 2 people. We got 2 drinks, 2 meat combo and added another side and then got some peach cobbler. I loved the beans, mac & cheese, and cornbread. Wasn't really a fan of the meat. The peach cobbler was good but wasn't the best one I had. We went at 1pm on a Tuesday and there was barely anyone in there. After we ordered got our food immediately. I rate it a 7/10 overall don't think I would come back but it was definitely good if you're looking for that typa of food.

We came here early on Saturday before 12 p.m. The place was very quiet. We sat at the round table. We ordered a half rack of pork spare ribs with rice as a side and fatty brisket with beans as a side. We felt the pork ribs taste okay only, it didn't impress us at all with the smoked flavor. We felt so so. The brisket was good because easy to chew. The staff service just so so. The restaurant is spacious and no need worry about the parking. Also, I think they can clean the table better, because when I wipe, the paper towel is black.

Premium Combo Platter with brisket and ribs and potato salad and homemade cornbread.

Our group of four came here for lunch today and had a terrific time. Two of us had the premium combo, which includes two ribs and your choice of second meat and a side. I chose the brisket. You had a choice of fatty brisket, lean brisket, or a mix. I chose the lean brisket and my BF chose the mix. The fatty brisket wasn't all that fatty either. There were two large ribs and fell off the bone. They were cooked perfectly; however, I wish there was actually more seasoning on the rib. They really didn't have a lot of flavor outside of the barbecue sauce sauces that were offered on the table. Don't get me wrong, those sauces were outstanding, but sometimes I don't like sauce. I just like to eat the rib on its own, and I just think it needed some more seasoning or dry rub. One of my favorite sides was the beans. It was so flavorful and had bits of meat in it. I ended up ordering some items to bring home for the next couple days. I got the potato skins and the burnt ends. I snuck a few burnt ends in and they were so good. The cornbread is clearly homemade and very delicious. But really what was outstanding at this location was the customer service. The guys there were so friendly and courteous and patient with our group. And they were very thankful that our group had dined at the establishment, which I really appreciate because we could've gone to a numerous other places. The competition is high, of course, so I really like it when restaurant owners and employees think their customers for being there.

We had the wolf turds, burnt edges, baked beans, and Cole slaw. It was very good, I would get the same thing when we come back. Drinks was the Moscow mule. Was perfect. Waitstaff took good care of us.

Pulled Chicken Sammy

When you walk in this place you know exactly it's a bbq place. It has the tradition bbq restaurant look. I like to come here because it's usually not busy and has some good bbq. The key is knowing what to order. Some of it has been amazing and other items leave a little to be desired. This particular time I got the pulled chicken sandwich which is very good. We also got the nachos. The nachos are not as good. It looked like they added flour to the cheese. I'm guessing to thicken it up? It makes for bad texture and didn't taste great. It almost looked like cottage cheese. Would not order it again. I have also had brisket here. They offer fat, lean, or mix. The lean is dry. So if you get brisket get fatty or mix. The different pork options are really good as well as most of the apps.

We arrived around 8:45 pm in a party of 10 and there was a live DJ tonight. There is also a cover charge on nights when there is live entertainment. If you look young they will I.D. you at the door. The entertainment venues are ever changing so you will need to check with them. We played it safe ordering bar food hot wings etc. As the evening rolled on people were arriving in small groups. The DJ played a mix of the 80's, now being that he was a younger guy his song choice stylings could have been blended in a little better flow. But I am still glad we stopped by to give it a try. It was a nice escape. You forget your in Fremont for a minute.

Food is terrible. The ribs are dry and burned. The sauce can't even help it. The service is just as bad.

Is there live music on weekends?

There is. They started in February 2024. Check the website for all the upcoming events. There’s a few

Is there an outside patio that I'm not seeing photos of? Not sure why it's coming up as dog friendly?

Do they still have live music at this place?

Hi Sylvia, no, we don't have live music right now. Still not quite safe yet. Thanks for asking.

Does the banana pudding have alcohol in it?

I don't believe it does. Although the menu doesn't say it does, If it did I'm sure it would say. To be 100% sure I would definitely double check.

What kind of music are you having tonight?

Not sure but you can't go wrong with the music at the Pig!

Passed by Skillet'z in Niles and randomly stopped in for brunch--so glad I did!…read moreEverything we ordered was actually really good and hit the spot. The Bravo omelet was super soft and fluffy, loaded with mushrooms, tomatoes, avocado, and bacon--really fresh and not heavy at all. The New York steak sandwich was super satisfying, with big chunky pieces of steak and avocado that made it extra good. And the coulotte steak was cooked perfectly--tender, flavorful, and just really well done overall. Definitely a great little brunch spot if you're in the area.

We were looking for a family friendly brunch experience before hitting up the Niles Farmer's Market…read moreand found Skillet'z Cafe just around the corner. Luckily there was no line at 8:30 in the morning on a Saturday. Rating Breakdown: 1/2 Stars for Taste -- The menu is HUGE and it was difficult to pick just one thing to order. I ended up choosing the Tio Pancho because I can never resist biscuits and gravy. The scramble itself was good, I'm a big fan of their chorizo as it's not overpoweringly sour/tangy like some other places. It was also mild enough that my kids were able to try a little. I opted for the hash browns which added a nice crispiness into the mix. I would actually skip the biscuits and gravy next time -- the biscuits are on the cake-y side and the gravy is a bit bland. My husband ordered the Mexican chicken fried steak. The steak itself was also bland, but it was fine paired with the chorizo and sauce on top. Their hashbrowns are crispy on the outside but made thick with a more mushy inside, not our favorite. My husband's sunny side eggs were also a bit underdone, the egg whites were still runny. We were both fans of the salsa that came on the side. For the kiddos, we got one pancake. We're glad we only got one because it was literally the same size as the dinner plate it came on. It was super fluffy and thiccccc, just how I love it. It was also not too sweet by itself so I felt less bad about giving it to the kiddos. I would say the dishes are served "rustic", it's not the most instagrammable if that matters to you, but it is a mountain of food and a veritable feast. 1/1 Stars for Value -- It's about $20 per entree and the serving sizes are humongous. Definitely enough to share or take home as leftovers. Coffee was $4 but it was actually good coffee, not the watery stuff diners sometimes serve. It only cost $3.95 to upgrade the side of toast to a pancake, which is a steal...I mean, why wouldn't you do it? 1/1 Stars for Customer Service -- The food came out unbelievably quickly. We literally said "That can't be it" when we saw them bringing it over. This place is optimized for efficiency -- everything from seating, serving, coffee refills, to bringing the bill was streamlined yet not rushed. Bonus star because we would come back when we are craving brunch. We would come early to avoid the lines.

The restaurant manager stopped by to see how everything was. Build your own (petit filet and 5 oz lobster) - 4/5 You have a selection of choices of what to select on the "Build your own" selection. The base price starts off at $29.95, then you select your food options. There's an uncharged on the most popular selections like lobster and steaks. My lobster was cooked to perfection. Very tender and sweet. The filet was pretty small for the up-charge, and was slight over cooked from the medium rare I ordered. But was still tender and good. The grilled asparagus was a $4 up-charge and you only get 3 spears of asparagus. With the up-charged, my dish, the price was over $46. Lobster Roll - 5/5 The Lobster Roll was very delicious. You get some Lobster tail, but Lobster claw meat is more prominent (see pic). Still the spices along with the clarified butter made this roll very tasty and delicious. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Market Broiler. It's a little pricy for the average consumer for consistent visits, but for special occasions birthdays, Mother's Day, the Market Broiler is a great place to dine.

The food came in what felt like a few minutes after we ordered and everything was hot and comforting. I ordered the country fried steak which comes with toast, potatoes and eggs your way. The gravy was so smooth and done well, the potatoes are sweetened which was interesting. The only reason this wasn't a 5 star for me was the country fried steak wasn't the tastiest, it was okay but the best that I've had in terms of texture and seasoning.
