If you want something out of the ordinary, this place hits the spot. The Hibachi and chili peppers are a must try.

Food was alright, but they need more employees. I waited nearly an hour for my food and there was only a few in front of me.

The Gonzalez regular burrito is the tastiest I've ever eaten in Fremont. It is likely the best burrito in Fremont. The tortilla prep is unique and is tasty, browned, and (buttery). The carne asada was fresh, perfectly spiced, tender, a generously portioned. The pinto beans were whole, not overly cooked, and added a nice layer of flavor and texture. Spanish rice was perfectly cooked, not mushy, not bland, not too much or too salty. The spice blend, fresh leafy bits, and crunchy onion bits, set this typical burrito apart from the rest I've tasted, ever. In totality, this burrito is a multilayered flavor and texture experience. I recommend. Well done Grill Los Gonzales! Caution, the roasted chilly are experienced high level chilly eaters only.

If it's a weekday and between 10 AM and 6 PM (call to check as they sometimes close early when they sell out), go to Amelia's and try the Amelia's Taco Dorado (crunchy taco shell in a soft taco tortilla with the works of meat, guacamole, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream and her own salsa). She also has regular street tacos and Tacos Supreme (comes with guac and sour cream). Hefty portions (she doesn't skimp on the guacamole or meat) and all of her prices are listed out. Best part? Call ahead to give your order to Juan and they'll have your order ready. We've ordered ahead while a few exits away on 880 and also at the start of the Dumbarton bridge. ============================== This has been on my radar since my colleague told me about the best tacos he'd ever had in the Bay Area including al pastor sliced off a trompo, but then Tacos Grill Los Gonzalez disappeared for a while from the Apex used car lot. They're finally back so we did the long trek over to try them twice. I might come back if I happened to be in the area and saw zero people in line, but otherwise, the wait time is too long. They are not lunch time friendly as orders take a while to come out. First visit, there were two people in front of us and we ordered four tacos. It was a 28 minute wait. Second visit, two people ordered in front of us plus one person who picked up their order right as we got there. We ordered six tacos and waited 37 minutes. That is very long for a food truck. The people in front of us were getting impatient and repeatedly asking for status updates. There are no prices listed anywhere so you have to ask about each item or order off of blind trust. The trompo seems to be gone and it appears they use bulk bagged "al pastor" now, or at least it looked and tasted like what you see when taquerias order large plastic bags of pre-sliced, red-dyed meat to grill up as needed. The paper wrapper around each taco is a must because the fresh made tortillas fall apart after one bite, even if you are eating within minutes of being handed your tacos. Other options nearby are Amelia's Kitchen Taco Truck on Decoto with plenty of parking before Regan Nursery, Tacos Sin Fronteras (another food truck) a block down on the same side of Thornton and Mi Lindo Sinaloa (sit down restaurant) on the opposite side of Thornton.

Just to let you know I have been a customer for sometime now specially the one at Walnut Creek Loc and always have received an exeptional service from all your employees! Today, I came in to the Fremont Loc and everything was the same! In fact the Gentleman that took my order didnt stop smiling at every custoner he helped! So helpful jugleling from walkins and phone orders he was welcoming and gracefully gave great Service to everyone. When I was leaving I needed some ice for the road under this heat! I ask the same Gentleman and he didnt know if I was able to, he ask the other lady next to him (she was wearinh knee brace) and before he finish asking her if it was ok? She emmediately answer "NO We DONT HAVE REFILS" i said no Mrs I dont need that! I only need Ice, she must to be in pain or under the heat! I thought she was going to apoligize and give me the ICe but instead she said its right there and appount to the soda machine! I get it is self service thing but she was a bit NOT welcoming! I looked at the Nice Gentleman and said dont worry I'll get it thank you much again. Got the Ice amd walked out. Though of sharing it the experience, because I wasnt asking for refill nor free Ice, I could have paid fornit is just that she was a not in the mood for a begger! Thank you so much. P.S. The flavors are rich, the portions are satisfying, and everything tastes fresh and well-made. It's located on grimmer parked in front of a gas station. I tried coming around 12 on a Friday and there was a huge line so I came back at 11:15 another day and there was no wait. Suadero Taco: A cut of meat from the middle of a cow, between the belly and leg, that's known for its smooth texture and high fat content. It ooks dry but the fat content is high so its still tender. Asada Taco: Cut a big larger than normal, still has that great steak chew and clean simply marinated flavor. Chicken Quesadilla: Its listed as just chicken and cheese but it has some crunchy bits added to it that make it amazing, I can't identify what it is, if anyone knows please message me. I want to say it's crunchy chicken skin or chicharrones.

It has a nice spot right along Niles Blvd near Niles Ice Cream. There is plenty of parking and street parking on adjacent blocks. Tacos start at $3.50 and regular burritos start at $13. Cash or Zelle only. I opted for the chicken burrito and it was very good! Nice ratio of rice, beans, and meat. The natural sauce in the burrito had a mild kick to it (may be on the spicier side for some) and you can add more salsa for extra spice. Service was quick and it wasn't busy on a Saturday afternoon. Coming from SoCal, I was content with the quality. A solid 4/5. Probably some of the better Mexican you'll find in this area. It looks like this place is only open during lunch and closes before dinner, which is not the most convenient.
