It's natural to be skeptical of so many 5-star ratings. Rest assured they are well-deserved: Aaron and his team at Only One clearly put customer satisfaction first. I decided one day that I wanted to try ordering a made-to-measure suit and did research both online and checked with other local tailoring shops and came across Only One Tailoring. I gave Aaron a call and he patiently walked me through the process of ordering the suit and the wide selection of options I had to personalize it just for me. After taking my measurements and completing the order process, I stopped by to try the suit on. Much to my disappointment, the jacket was too short and couldn't be altered. Now, the truest test of customer service is not when things go right, but how a business deals with things goes don't go as planned. I didn't really need my suit back quick but I had it back within two weeks, shorter than I thought it would be. But they made the alterations within 2 weeks! There was a mishap where the under skirt of the dress hung lower than the top layer, but he fixed within a couple of hours and delivered it to my office! I found great reviews about Aaron's work while searching for someone I could trust for alterations on my wedding dress. I walked in with my beautiful dress and a vision of how I wanted it modified and Aaron walked me out with the wedding dress of my dreams. I wanted to modify the straight neckline to a scooped neckline, I was on the fence about such a dramatic change, but Aaron and his lovely wife reassured me it was the right decision (and even said it would complement my facial bone-structure!). He hemmed my dress and used the excess material to HAND-MAKE buttons so they'd match the color of my dress perfectly. Aaron said he ran into an unforeseen difficulty while bringing in the sides my dress, but thanks to his expertise, he turned this negative into a positive when he added the troublesome extra material to the existing bunching of material on the side of my hip, which enhanced my dress...I couldn't believe it when he showed me. He also added a hidden bustle that I can easily hook by myself on my wedding day (my friend's bustle was so complicated to locate on her dress that it actually took four of us to figure it out, so I love my bustle). He even worked his magic when I jokingly wished that he could add a little more 'curvature' to my backside...and he did! Aaron said 'no problem' and that he gets that request from clients quite often. Aaron is an amazing tailor and both he and his wife are probably two of the sweetest people I have ever met. I've never had anything tailor before, but my friends and family have, and his prices are absolutely reasonable. Some reviews said that he's pricey, but in all honesty, he was willing to go to the ends of the Earth to make my wedding dress perfect so his price is only reflecting the quality of his work. I got my wedding dress tailored here. It was for an Indian wedding so the detailing was incredibly lavish - lots of embroidery, beadwork, different materials, and an unfamiliar cut. I literally took the thing to 2 other alteration places that refused to work on it. Only One tailored my dress for a reasonable price and did a fantastic job. Aaron consulted me before making big decisions and ensured that the look of the piece didn't change despite substantial alterations. When my bridesmaid came to town with a hatchet job done on her sari blouse the week of the wedding, Aaron turned it around in a day. Only One are lifesavers and the nicest people to work with! But as two gender non-conforming queer people living in the south, we had some real concerns about finding a tailor we could trust to not only create amazing suits for us, but also to treat us with kindness and respect. We have had some very poor experiences in the past, so when we found Aaron and Only One Tailoring, we were beyond thrilled. Aaron and his whole staff treated us with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. They were clearly so excited for us, for our wedding, for our suits. They always respected our pronouns. The experience of working with them was fantastic and our suits look and feel like a dream! i got my wedding dress altered here, and had a great experience. the quality of the work was amazing and aaron and his support staff were very professional and friendly. the turn around was very quick and the cost was low. my only very minor complaint was that they were a little bit flaky on the front end (running late w/ appointments, or not returning phone calls quickly). but i know that things get hectic during wedding season, so i didn't fault them too much for it. this is definitely a great place that can handle high end garments and more complicated jobs (beading, lace, etc). read more

The people here are SO nice and do great work. All of the reviews are true about their quality, however, you should be aware before you go in that it is seriously overpriced. My fiancé had his suit for our wedding tailored here and it was over $200. Let out sleeves in the jacket, took in vest, took in shirt, and did something to the butt of the pants. $200. He didn't really know how much these things typically cost and I couldn't go with him so he just went with it and I picked it up feeling seriously ripped off. I have a bridesmaids dress that I'm wearing as a wedding dress. All it needed was a simple hem (no train or bustle involved) and a belt tacked on. Very simple. And they told me it would be between $175 and $250. Outrageous for something so simple. Anyway, I believe the reviews that they're the best tailor in town... I just think you're going to pay a VERY high price for it. read more

Only One fixed a botch job tailoring on my wedding dress a few years ago and did a fantastic job. It was a very intricate dress with a lot of beading and designs that had to be matched up when the size was altered. I had actually tried taking it elsewhere and was told it was too difficult. Not only did Only One fix it for me but the prices were really reasonable. That alone would have sufficed for a 5 star review, but Only One also saved the day when my maid-of-honor arrived without having fitted her dress. They were able to fix it with a 2 day turnaround. I've been meaning to write these guys a good review for awhile. Aaron and his team truly are great people that you can trust with your tailoring. I went into Only One Tailoring to get a custom suit altered that I had purchased elsewhere. Aaron said that the amount of changes he'd like to make to the suit wouldn't be worth the cost and suggested I ask for a remake with more accurate measurements. He even wrote a note to the company explaining why a remake was a better option than making all the alterations. Sure enough, the remade suit came back looking a lot better. Only needed the pants altered a little. Feeling like Aaron helped me out quite a bit, I came back later with a sport coat that I considered getting tailored for awhile to give them some business. Aaron took a look at the jacket and told me that the minor alteration he could make wouldn't make much of a difference and he wouldn't suggest any tailoring - essentially passing up the money. Sure, they may charge a little more than some of their competitors, but they won't tailor anything that doesn't need to be tailored. That is pretty rare these days. I should have left this review a long time ago. I needed my dress altered for the Emmys back in September. I thought it didn't fit but that was because I couldn't reach and so the first time I actually got the dress closed up was at the alteration. That was a lucky surprise. It had a lot of layers going on at the skirt and so the under layers had to be hemmed and then I came back to have the tulle cut while wearing it. First of all, I'm super thankful because I was coming from Clarksville, where I previously had a dress butchered, which made me really miss my tailor back home in CA. When I needed this dress to be altered, everyone in the area said they were too busy with military ball dresses. I totally got that but was bummed I had to drive all the way to Nashville for an alteration but am SO glad I did in the long run. This experience was completely different than the dress I had altered in Clarksville earlier that year. If I need something else altered, I'd definitely do the drive again to have something altered here rather than somewhere else. Everyone here is professional, attentive, and kind. They fit me in when I didn't have an appointment and the dress was altered quickly and perfectly. I love the length the tulle was cut and the way it was tapered. They even showed me how to walk/turn while wearing the gown - yes, I needed that much help. (Thank you, by the way, that saved me lots of embarrassment when we got the award and I actually had to walk quickly to keep up with a bunch of guys not wearing gowns, get up the stairs, turn, and then turn again to leave during a televised event. Faceplanting on tv would have certainly been as memorable for me as the actual Emmy). read more

I was blown away by my experience at Only One Tailoring. After having another seamstress botch my wedding dress they were able to make it fit like a dream on very short notice. They spent 20 minutes with me pinning the dress and going over what they would do in each section to make the dress fit and fix what the other seamstress had done wrong. After a week I picked my dress up and it fit perfectly. Their pricing was in line with all of the other seamstresses I talked to and they were even more affordable than the one who messed my dress up to begin with. First time yelper here, and really happy my first 5 star is going to this gem of a place! I had a gown that I wanted altered for a ball I was going to. I wanted the V neck to be lowered and also reconstructed to create a heart shape on the bodice. Sounds simple right? Except for the fact that it had ruching going several different directions. I first took it to another local shop that said it couldn't be done, and if it was done, it would look awful. Feeling disappointed, I left the shop thinking, "oh well, it looks nice enough." However, I still had an appointment scheduled with Aaron at Only One Tailoring later that week. So I thought, what the heck. I'll see what they can do with it. As soon as I showed Aaron the dress, he had several ideas to make my vision happen. And he was excited about it. He genuinely cared about making my dress exactly what I wanted it to be, down to the nitty gritty details. Plus, he was careful to stay under my budget and gave me options. PLUS, I brought him my dress friday and he had it ready for me by closing monday, even though his shop had been swamped with the CMA awards the prior week. Then the icing on the cake-- I had my puppy with me and his team watched her and played with her as we did my final fitting. They were so accomodating, and my dress ended up being perfect, when it originally had been deemed an "impossible" task. Thank you Aaron and the rest of the Only One Team. 5 stars just aren't enough!! I brought a bridesmaid dress and my wedding dress here to be altered based on the online reviews and received excellent service/results both times. My wedding dress in particular was difficult to alter--I'm pretty short, and the dress had a very intricate lace pattern on it that had to be adjusted when the hem was shortened. Aaron, the owner, ended up helping me with my wedding dress alterations, and he did a fantastic job making sure my dress fit and looked beautiful. He truly went above and beyond in every way. For example, I bought a ribbon belt for my dress that I thought would work, but we realized during alterations that the color was all wrong! Not to worry--Aaron stepped in, found some ribbon in his shop that worked out way better, and that was what I ended up using for my dress. That was so helpful! Aaron has been doing this work for a long time, and it is obvious that he is not only skilled but loves what he does. I will definitely be going back if I need additional alterations, and you should go there too! read more

Aaron is amazing! I have been to him a few times and have never been disappointed. I took my favorite black dress to him and he worked wonders. It is a Diane von Furstenberg dress and as it was a gift, it is very important to me. His apprentice initially fitted me and Aaron was not there. I was a little concerned because the dress needed a lot of work and I wasn't sure the apprentice would relay everything that I requested. Well, a true testament of how amazing Aaron is, after seeing the dress, he called me and asked to meet with me and fit the dress personally. He does not know me, he just wanted to make sure he got everything right. We met two different times after that, making a total of three fittings. The dress has a bit of lace and the seams were not easily worked. Aaron spent a lot of time on my dress and it showed. It fits perfectly. It hugs all the right places. He ended up doing much more work than what the apprentice originally quoted me and he kept with the quoted price. As long as I am in Nashville, I will never go anywhere else. You might be able to find cheaper places but they will not be as good. read more

I recently took my wedding dress to Only One to have just the neckline altered. The staff was very polite and the dress ended up looking great but I can't seem to get past the fact of the very little communication on the pricing of the alterations. It wasn't until after she pinned my dress where it needed to be adjusted and as I was setting up my second fitting that I was told the price would be almost $200. I was a little taken back because it was such a small adjustment for such a big price. I proceeded to explain to him that it was more then I thought it would be so he discounted it by $15 but at that price it was still more then I budgeted. Once I picked up the dress and was paying for it, a screen popped up asking how much I wanted to tip. (I have never heard of tipping a seamstress) but I felt obliged too, so I did and that took my price even higher. I feel like if I would have known upfront how much they charged I could have gone somewhere else due to my budget. read more
