Total Tutoring Service

Total Tutoring Service

(4 reviews)

My daughter is 7 and has been receiving tutoring through Total Tutoring for several years. I…read morestarted my daughter young because I feel that her education is very important. At first the sessions were great! The tutors were effective and my daughter made a lot of progress in a short period of time. Honestly, I was very happy with the results of the tutoring sessions, and as a result, decided to have my daughter receive Spanish tutoring. I contacted Total Tutoring and organized for a spanish tutor to come to my house for weekly lessons. These sessions were scheduled for 30 minutes at the request of the tutor due to my daughters young age. The lessons began in September of last year, and as of today, she does not understand the phrase "Hola, como estas?". Needless to say her progress has been minimal. During the time my daughter has been receiving lessons from her tutor, Nannette Simmons, I noticed that she was consistently showing up late and leaving early which is discouraging considering the cost of each lesson. I contacted the agency to express my concerns and asked for a different tutor. I was told by Total Tutoring that they would try to find someone new to replace Nannette. Yesterday (December 2nd), the tutor again showed up late, so I decided to set a 30 minute timer. No surprise, the tutor was leaving early. I informed Nannette that should would no longer be tutoring my daughter and told her it was because she was consistently showing up late and leaving early. After each tutoring session we receive an email with a session summary; this is meant to highlight progress and address areas of weakness for my daughter to work on. I received the session report for the final summary and it was blank. I contacted Total Tutoring, cc'ing Nannette, expressing my opinion that this was unprofessional. I received an update session summary which was even more unprofessional!!! Nannette's updated session summary placed the blame entirely on my daughter!!! She took no responsibility for her actions. I responded to Total Tutoring again, extremely upset with the unprofessionalism shown by Nannette. Total Tutoring's reply was that they should have edited her comments before sending them to me. They took no responsibility for Nannette and did not acknowledge her unprofessionalism even knowing my frustration. They did not apologize for her comments, only stating I should not have seen them. Total Tutoring would get a higher review because they do have some good tutors, but customer service is key to me. I need professionalism and I need a good example for my daughter. I am active duty military and I have zero tolerance for adults who place blame everywhere but on themselves while taking no time for self-reflection. The images attached are images of the communications and session recaps as proof of this companies inability to remain professional.

High pressure to sign-up for classes. They are looking to fill seats and don't care about the student. I had one great Web and 3D instructor, Kirk, that bent over backwards for his students. The classes are too short of the amount of material being taught. I had a video instructor wouldn't teach, he had you do lessons from a book and wouldn't answer questions. 20 out-of 22 students dropped out of the class (including me) and ACI kept the instructor. The next semester 2 of my Web classmates were in his Video class and one dropped out (forfeiting a refund) because the video instructor would not teach. ACI still kept this instructor. ACI just doesn't care. The administration is just as bad. If a instructor would cancel class, often students were not informed and some students traveled over 2 hours (even by bus) to get to class. Recently my account was sent to collections even though I made payments and just made a $1000.00 payment 2 months prior. I did not receive a letter, phone call or even an email informing me my threatened account status much less my bill. This is typical of ACI, give me money and screw you!! Please STAY AWAY!! GO to HCC or UB!! At least you'll get an education and degree. Do your homework and you'll find that others have had the same experiences.

Lincoln College of Technology - Rusted tools due to improper maintenance of school

I have rented a locker for $20 where I have kept my tools for the past 8 months and a few months ago I realized my tools have started rusting, despite never being brought near water or humidity. I came to the conclusion after one of my friends leaving his hat in the classroom and asking me to keep it in my locker tell tomorrow, the locker was leaking... I took the hat out next day with wet spots all over... all my tools have spot rust everywhere. I have cleaned it in this photo and came back a few weeks later to them being rusted again. Proving it is the locker. So then I decide to ask the school to replace my tools, because they haven't left the school and have only been in this locker (which is leaking). I talk to Corey Hughes the school president (the worst man alive) to try and get a conclusion. He basically tells me what I have brought to him is bullshit and refuses to replace my tools that have been damaged due to improper maintenance of the school. What do I do? It is obvious to me that it has been damaged due to the school but obviously no one's just gonna take my word or even photos for proof? If you are looking for a school to get into HVACR the teachers are decent and a few of them excel others like Booker, Miller & Jenson but the people who run the school are absolutely terrible.
