One Week Bath might do great work, but the company never bothered to respond to my inquiry about getting a quote.

Since OWB remodeled one of my bathrooms last year, this review is long overdue. The funny thing is that it took me this long to realize how good they were. This bathroom remodel was the first project at my house. Since then, I've replaced windows, remodeled kitchen, removed popcorn ceiling and painted the house. For each of these projects, I used a different contractor who specialized in what they do. What's the point you may ask? The point is that I experienced how these contractors work to really know who were good. OWB came out on top. First, you hope the person who meets with you knows his stuff and not some guy who tells you, "No problem. We do everything. We do what you want. We give you a good price." OWB sent the owner (Matt) and a designer (Jennifer). Matt, Jennifer, and I sat in my kitchen for 5 hours going over every option imaginable from shower heads to floor tiles. I hadn't had a meeting this long since I had an office job and I wanted to kick them out after 3 hours. I'm glad I didn't because every little detail affected the final outcome of the bathroom. At the end of the session, they printed out an agreement for me to sign. Think about this. The two of them spent 5 hours at my house practically designed my bathroom with every nook and cranny in mind and I could have sent them home without giving them job. How many contractors you know are willing to invest this much in a client upfront? Second, the people who do the work are not the same people who sold you the job. That's a given. The question then becomes how well the workers execute the vision and whether they uphold to the same standards promised by the owner. Of course, right? Wrong. The guys who painted my house "forgot" to paint part of the chimney; they had to come back and finish the job. The guys who did my kitchen didn't even bother to put a transition between the kitchen floor and the living room floor; they might as well put safety barricade tape on the gap because that's all I can see every time I go in and out of my kitchen. As for my OWB bathroom, flawless! It was like somebody took a picture from a Restoration Hardware catalogue and made it come to life. In terms of pricing, OWB is not the cheapest as other reviewers have noted. Just know that you get what you pay for. There is fried chicken and then there is Thomas Keller's fried chicken. I could keep going but I think this should give anyone an idea of how these guys operate. I have 1.5 more bathrooms that need to done as some point and OWB is who I will call again. We recently had a bathroom remodeled by One Week. The whole experience from the designing with Sarah and Debbie to Armando's work team and a couple visits from Brian, the VP, was great. Sarah and Debbie patiently guided us through the planning visit giving much appreciated recommendations. Sarah was very quick to see our tastes and tailored selections to help move along the process. She was also very practical to identify areas for cost savings. Armando's team - Elvin, Steve, Fabian & Leo - was all very professional - respectful of our privacy and property. It was clear that although there were time constraints, their main goal was to do the job well. I had absolutely no hesitation handing over the key to our house so we could go to work and carry on our lives as usual. Due to some unforeseen plumbing issues, the work did extend a few more days. Even with the setbacks, everyone was calm and reassuring. As Armando went on to the next scheduled job, Elvin was left in charge to finish. He still took the needed time to expertly finish up the bathroom. There was good communication to update us as to the progress all along the way also . We were impressed by the commitment the guys had to the company. Elvin spoke very highly of management and how well they were treated. It was wonderful to hear the company even financially supported workers who further pursued their education. No doubt it is a little difficult to wait for your job start date but it is well worth the wait. Because everything is so well planned and organized, the job is done before you know it. I can't speak to the costs because we did not comparison shop but the whole concept and process made it worth every penny. We would highly recommend One Week and will have them do our kitchen when we're ready. read more

We originally contacted Matt and his team at One Week Bath to add a bathtub to our master bathroom but quickly decided that our money was better spent first remodeling our very small kitchen instead. We made all the selections, reviewed our budget and then waited for construction to happen. The entire demo and remodeling process then took 6 weeks and that was with removing two walls, and adding a support beam. We put in all new cabinetry, flooring, walls and an island. We are so happy with the results and felt that the OWB team was always responsive to our needs and questions. We hit some snags along the way but Brian and Javier were always quick to resolve them for us as quickly as possible. Matt, Brian, Javier and the entire team at OWB were great to work with and I have been recommending them to all my friends since the completion of our kitchen. Our next project will be our master bathroom sometime in the near future and we will be using OWB again. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Matt and his crew at OWB. We met with a few different contractors, and though some gave us a slightly lower estimate, OWB took care of every detail, including pulling all the permits, scheduling the inspection, hauling away the trash, and providing the porta-potty! That, and they promised to get it done in a week and on budget. At our first meeting, Matt spent several hours with us, and we designed the perfect bathroom together. We started the remodel a few weeks later. The crew was SO professional and always showed up on time- they had to get here before we went to work, so that was very important. They did beautiful work, and we absolutely love the final result. Amazingly it was all finished in six days. We had a problem with our vanity a couple of months later, and OWB came out right away and replaced it. I know if we ever have a problem with anything else, they will take care of it. Every time we have had a question or request Matt and his crew have been amazingly quick to respond, and always took the time to answer every question. We actually just decided to do a small kitchen remodel as well, and we did not even call another contractor. It was such a pleasure to work with the professionals at OWB we didn't want to mess around with anyone else. We know they will do great work again. OWB is not the cheapest deal in town, but they are skilled professionals who do beautiful work, on time, and on budget. It is worth every penny! So happy we found them. read more

I am very happy I decided on One Week Bath for my bathroom remodel. It is nice to come across a company that truly cares and values their work. From my first conversation with the Owner, Matt, I knew this company was like no other. They are by far exceptional. They are not by any means cheap, but they shouldn't be, they offer high quality work and products that are above standard. They are true to their name, One Week Bath. I only have one full bathroom with Bath/Shower, so quick completion time was very important to me. I had many, many conversations via phone/email with the Owner Matt prior to my decision to move forward with remodeling my bathroom. What can I say? The professional team approach works! One Week Bath transformed our old 50's bathroom into a beautiful modern bathroom in 7 days. It shows that OWB has a fantastic support system because from the beginning to end everything was well coordinated. It was a pleasure to work with our designer team, Sarah & Emma and the "great" construction crew consisting of Ernie, Raul and Daniel. We really appreciated that everyone arrived when they said they would, cleaned up every night & communicated. The job was a little pricey but I think it was well worth it....for the time, effort and peace of mind and confidence that all issues would be addressed. One Week Bath made my guest bathroom remodel so fast and easy. I've done several remodeling projects and I've never had such a great experience and outcome. One reason is One Week Bath doesn't use subs. All workman are employees, which means real accountability for consumers. Brian, Javier and the One Week Bath crew were amazing. I would recommend One Week Bath to anyone interested in superb workmanship, on-time, on budget performance and an outfit that will go the extra mile for us, as OWB did in remodeling our Master Bathroom, which was just completed. We are thrilled with the outcome and can't say enough about everyone involved with OWB. We had two different crews during our project, one headed by Richie and the other headed by David. Each of these crew leaders were knowledgeable, ready to address all issues and totally responsive to our requests during the project. When we found the perfect tile liner for the bathroom shower at a tile remnant outfit in Orange County that only had 6 pieces of the liner (an insufficient number for our project), and discovered that it had been discontinued by the manufacturer, Brian, the Project Manager, went above and beyond the call of duty to locate what must have been the last 20 pieces of the liner in Dallas, Texas, and had them shipped to our project to beautifully finish off the tiling in the shower. We have had 4 bid proposal submitted for our bathroom work which is very very standard. One week bath was the highest bid we had received. I have read their review which says that they have a lot of happy customers, but I guess those customers can really afford spending 20% more than other bids submitted. I hired One Week Bath after a close friend had used them for 2 bathroom remodels. Every wonderful thing she said about them was accurate. They were tremendously helpful in the design. They were transparent and clear with costs. And most important, they did a fantastic job with a responsible crew that showed up on time, worked diligently to complete the job in the time as promised, and did a beautiful job. I can't stop going into the bathroom to admire it. I was so happy with them that I am using them to totally gut and redo my kitchen. I have had some not so pleasant remodeling experiences, and i truly cannot say enough good things about this company. Accountable, transparent, professional, thorough, and talented. I honestly have nothing negative to say. They may not be the cheapest, but in home construction you generally get what you pay for. I am extremely happy with the products and services I received from One Week Bath. Last month, we completed a conversion of a traditional bathroom with tub and shower to a beautiful Universal Access solution. Without exception, every member of the team was a pleasure to work with. This is the second bathroom remodel I've done within 8 years. The first one was with another service provider, so I feel qualified to make a comparison on products and services. This time, I chose One Week Bath, because they have a professional system that will delivery to you the quality bathroom you want with a minimum of inconvenience. All the planning and purchasing is done well in advance, so when they arrive at your home to start the job, they are ready to get to work, and can work as quickly as possible. Even when unexpected issues came up (and they usually do), everything was resolved with a minimum of disruption. During the planning of your bathroom, they have an vast array of products to offer, to meet your quality expectations, and there are several levels of planning and checking to make sure even the smallest detail is covered before they start work. After the demolition day, I was amazed. The living areas were completely masked off to eliminate the possibility of dust or dirt entering the home. But even the workspace itself could not have been cleaner. Every day when I came home from work, I was so pleased at the progress they made. When the bathroom was done, even small details we didn't anticipate were managed beautifully (think meticulously cut floor moulding cut to match the variegated edge of a new cabinet, or the relocation of a mirror light just a few inches higher to give the mirror below more space than it had before.) In our remodel, we did not need to replace the stone floor, and after the remodel, it was as good as new. Throughout the job, they are great at maintaining communication and responding quickly to questions and concerns. With regards to price, I would say it is a good value. When I remodeled another bathroom 8 years ago, I was initially put off by the One Week Bath price estimate "ballpark" and went with another contractor. At the end of that other job, the price ended up to be probably more that I would have paid One Week Bath, and in addition, my bathroom was out of commission for about 2 months. Add to that the additional time to decide and source much of my own materials... well, it was fun at first to play "designer" like on TV, but really it was more of a headache tracking it all down. I am so glad I trusted One Week Bath with our recent bathroom remodel. I would choose their products and services again, in a heartbeat. read more

OWB remodeled a bathroom for us several years ago and we were very pleased. In the past several months there's been a problem w/shower that various plumbers couldn't solve, and in fact made a mess of it. In desperation, today I contacted One Week to verify the parts used in the original installation. Rhonda and Oscar the service manager provided exceptional customer service and fixed the problem that $600 worth of plumbers + parts didn't. We started our relationship with OWB about a year ago. We originally planned on doing one bathroom, but were initially put off by the relatively high pricing. However, as we shopped around, we came to realize that the convenience of having everything done in "1 week" would be worth a premium. The owner came to our house with an amazing amount of samples and spent 4 hours with us. We ultimately wound up remodeling 3 bathrooms and were given a reasonable price, although it was significantly higher than we had budgeted. All projects have issues. I have remodeled several houses and know the aggravation that can result from dealing with contractors. Our project with OWB also had issues and took a bit longer than expected. However, it did not cost us a single cent over the quoted price. The owner and project manager were committed to delivering a quality product. And they did. In addition, this company stands behind their product and provides "warranty service" for a year after project completion. If you want a quality job with minimal aggravation then you should consider OWB. They're not the cheapest, but they delivered three beautiful bathrooms with a minimum amount of stress. IMO worth every penny. read more

I spent thousands of dollars with designers only to get bids completely out of the ballpark ,and I mean 6 digit out of the ball park. Time went by and finally when the bathroom fixtures stopped working , I call one week bath cause I wanted the job done asap and I figured they couldn't be anywhere the cost of the custom designer bath. Matt came by showed us samples made it easy to choose ( didn't have to meet people at stone yards or plumbing shops) picked it all out in under 3 hrs , and wrote him a ck that night. They came in at about 1/2 the price of the other bids. It didn't take 1 week, it took 5 weeks but it wasn't your average bathroom either. Now I have a sauna, steam shower, we moved walls, windows. Now we have a completely new useable space. I had changes during the construction they took them in stride. Bottom line, it's gorgeous, affordable, easy. Having them come back and redo another bath that the previous contractor screwed up on. read more

They were amazing! My bathroom looks exactly like I wanted. We did a complete redo, moving walls and all plumbing and extensive tile work. Because of the size of the project, they said from the start it would take 11 days. It did. Cost was right on point. Same guys here everyday, the Foreman Frankie was so easy to work with. This is a company that I would definitely recommend. Their products are top of the line, they have a foreman on site that has a really positive attitude and they have excellent customer service. They completed our master bath 3 years ago and we just love it. Recently I needed help with a hand towel rack that had come loose and the bathtub hot/cold handle needed a slight adjustment. I kept seeing this add in the LA Times for OWB and was intrigued. I checked them out on this website and Angie's List and decided to move forward. We only have one bathroom and wanted it to look stellar. We had one company come out and they told us that we had to find the fixtures, etc. . . ourselves (no thanks!). The OWB design (Sandra and I think Kim) team met with us (a thorough process) and ordered everything down to the hardware for the vanity. The construction team was extremely professional and ensured our small home did not look like a construction zone. The job took less than two weeks to complete and is STUNNING (see #135 on their website)! In my opinion, the money we spent was well worth it because they took care of EVERY detail! I look around my bathroom and just bask in the beauty and glory that it is thanks to this fantastic company! And if any repair needs to be done after the remodel, they will come out asap. read more

One-Week Bath is a home remodeling contractor that keeps its promises, is trustworthy and extremely reliable. I own a 2-bedroom condo conversion unit in West Los Angeles. Not every contractor will work in such a setting, but OWB was willing, even eager to do so. OWB is a low-stress and well-proven outfit. I had both of my bathrooms and my kitchen upgraded from apartment-quality to condo-quality in nine or ten working-days for each job. OWB may not be the lowest-priced home remodeling contractor around, but their streamlined business model and efficient service are well worth the extra expense. Infuriating. I called the company four times to inquire about remodeling a master bathroom. No one was able to return any of my calls and move the process forward. I spoke with four different-- very nice-- receptionists, who collected a lot of data but were unable to put me in touch with anyone even remotely connected to the actual work. It's telling when a construction company is essentially unreachable at the beginning of the process when they stand to get new business. Telling and fortunate, actually. It's preferable to find out a potential vendor is dysfunctional before embarking in a relationship with them. read more

I don't normally write poor reviews, but this is an exception, as I don't want others to go through what for me has been one of the worst experiences of my life. Approximately 3 years ago, my husband and I hired One Week Bath to not only remodel 2 baths and a kitchen, but do some interior work as well, on my 1,395 square foot childhood home. Three years later, the job is still not done correctly. Although there have been multiple problems, I'm going to concentrate on the worst one - the interior paint job. After paying the One Week Bath tens of thousands of dollars, a subcontractor painter was hired to paint parts of the interior of the house. He could not only not get the job done correctly the first time, but was sent back approximately 5 more times to try, each time just trying to cover up the last mistake. After all of the attempts, much of the paint peels off with a fingernail, the paint on the cabinetry is still tacky, so I can't put anything on many shelves, and the house still smells of paint. There are also long lines on the cabinets that look like scratches, but I'm told they are shrinkage lines, due to painting them incorrectly. The owner finally came out to review the situation and basically agreed that it was done incorrectly. He said for a small window of time that the company was doing this kind of work. He indicated they no longer do this work, as it was too much for them to handle. So basically, we were one of their practice clients. One of the first things the owner asked me was what we wanted him to do - apparently he had very little knowledge of a very serious problem in his own company, that had been going on for years. Several weeks later he agreed to send out a new painter to see about repairing this mess; finally we thought this nightmare would soon be over. We were asked how we felt about the new painter, and we told the owner we would be thrilled to have him do the job, as he really seemed competent. After more emails with the owner back and forth, ultimately, he would not send out the new painter to do the work, as he felt he was too expensive. I explained to him that I felt the definition of expensive was paying his company a great deal of money, only to be left with a real mess in our home. To wrap things up, his first solution was to send the original painter back. I told him there was no way this man was going to try a seventh time. His second solution was for his own people to redo the painting work (remember, he said they stopped doing this type of work because it was too hard). His last solution was to send other painting contractors out to give him a bid - hoping to get someone else cheap again I assume, that would probably make things worse. All we asked from the owner after 3 years is that he complete the job he was paid to do, by someone who knows what they are doing. We don't feel that is asking too much, but his last response to us was basically that was not an option. Unfortunately now, we will need to engage an attorney or arbitrator. read more

I called OWB regarding remodeling two bathrooms. I filled out the online form, then received a phone call from Denise. One bath was only going to have the 5ft vanity replaced, the other bath would have the 5ft vanity, tub and shower replaced. No major construction like moving walls, adding window, or relocating outlets and plumbing. Denise quoted $8K for the one vanity and $30-$40K for the other. I was speechless. Way, way above my budget. I have seen the reviews stating they do the work for an 'affordable' price, but I am mystified. I can't imagine spending $30-$40K to replace a vanity, tub and shower. read more

I did not have my bathroom remodeled by OWB. They have a lead time of 10 weeks before a project stats and I am in a hurry to do a remodel. I thought that "One Week" bath would be faster than that. In one of the initial conversations they stated that the minimum budget for a bathroom remodel is $19k which for the tiny bathroom I need remodeled is $600/sqft! Also, despite specifying that I preferred email contact in the several questionnaires that they need you to fill out before even discussing the project I received more phone calls from them than emails. When I scheduled a phone call to discuss the project, they called me an hour early because they had misscheduled the phone call! This tells me that interactions with them would be at their convenience rather than mine if I had gone forward with them. read more

OWB is the best!! They renovated all 3 bathrooms in my home in Pasadena and just when I had everything the way I wanted it, my mother took ill and I had to sell my house and move out of state. So sad to leave my lovely bathrooms, but the good news is that I was able to get an offer that was $115,000 over asking price. My broker told me that the bathrooms really sold the house. I can't thank Matt and his team enough for guiding me through the process and delivering such fantastic results. Other companies can renovate but I have seen the results of my friends that have used other contractors and there were serious delays and they are already having problems. They didn't get what was promised in the final analysis. OWB is better by far. The old adage -- you get what you pay for -- is really true. You can't go wrong with OWB!!! My family is so happy we selected one week bath for our bathroom remodel. They took our two bathrooms from drab to beautiful truly in the matter of two weeks. One week for one bathroom another week for the other. When Sarah the designer sat down with us and went over every detail of our bathroom remodel she was incredibly helpful and made excellent suggestions based on the design of our house. This is when we started to become very excited about the project. A few weeks later our crew showed up and they were incredibly hard working and respectful of our time and home. Ernesto, gus, and raul became seamless members of the household for those 2 weeks and did a wonderful job communicating expectations as the project went on. I could not have asked for more from this group of people and the company as a whole. Brian, the project manager was very communicative and I always felt as though there were just as many people behind the scenes making sure the job got done as there were in the bathrooms. I would highly highly recommend this service to anyone with time restrictions, and those worried about leaving their bathrooms in disarray for months at a time. The job is done so quickly and so beautifully. The quality of work is excellent. I can't say more good things about the crew we had in particular, Ernesto gus and raul became friends and we trusted them to take care of our home just as we would. I will say, while the bulk of work gets done in the given time frame, there may be one or 2 items, such as a light fixture or an inspection that might take longer but the company will make every effort to work within your time frame and be respectful of your timing needs. Would definitely use again, except now I have beautiful bathrooms thanks to them. read more

Matt and his amazing crew at One Week Bath remodeled our bathroom and kitchen and we could not be happier! You do pay a premium for their quality AND speed (two things that don't normally go together) but it is well worth it. Especially worth it if you have young children and are trying to minimize the disruption in your home. The bathroom was a very large project and was done in two and a half weeks (one day over the time they stated - and not their fault for the tiny delay). YOU WILL THANK ME.... we have had many renovations over the years from various places..i have, WE have NEVER had the experience as positive as we had with these guys and gals.... i was actually worried that the outcome would not be as awesome as it ended up being because they were such amazing people to work with .. i kept thinking there has to be a catch.. they cant have this amazing personalities AND do great work.. i was wrong .. they went above and beyond.. they did so in very short time ( we had family flying in and they made it happen.. 3 bathrooms ! BEAUTIFUL! SPA quality in their look and function and when there were tweaks along the way .. or minor mix ups with the mirrors they went out of there way to address it and make it work.. they truly BACK UP THEIR % guarantee ! THey even came out to fix a problem that had NOTHING to do with their work... and when i tried to get them to invoice me they said, just keep us in mind for another project in the future .. who does that???? they have CLASS, they have QUALITY, they have a SYSTEM THAT WORKS,, they have RESPECT FOR THEIR CLIENTS BUT AS IMPORTANTLY THEY HAVE RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!! and that is something special!!! THEY TAKE GREAT PRIDE IN THEIR WORK and it shows.. IF THERE WERE MORE STARS then my husband family and i would give them more stars.. i will say that there is something special and time saving about doing a project with a company who - from the get go - sit down with you and go over everything from the hundreds of samples they have to the color and designers et et et .. to the very last nail, stroke of paint or beautiful tile, glass doors et et et .. there is something so wonderful about knowing your team is going to do the best AND THEN SOME.. i have grown to care about this company as an extended family .. but even if i didnt like them i would still give them a 5 star because the QUALITY was exceptional!!!! I cant say enough great things about them.... i have been fighting cancer for 3 years.. i have been very sick on and off and have been BLESSED to have family and friends come to visit.. and because of the INTEGRITY of ONE WEEK BATH , we get to offer such a peaceful setting for our Family and Friends and THAT money cant buy.. nothing makes me happier to know that my loved ones can come into our humble home and feel like they are stepping into a spa of bliss after a long flight !!!!!!! THEY REALLY ARE THE BEST! OH and one last thing, the ONLY thing i would change is their name because they do it ALL .. all sorts of work not just bathrooms.. i had hired a painter ( CS CEASERS painting ) to come do the house and he was great too.. AND ONE WEEK BATH could have made it very difficult for the painters but they didnt .. they worked with and around them.. they are top notch and we are so blessed.. we will be hiring them to do the next reno soon i hope!!!!! We loved the One Week Bath ("OWB") experience so much, that we have used them three times! First, OWB completely remodeled our master bathroom; next, OWB remodeled our upstairs guest bathroom; and then, OWB remodeled our kitchen. Each time, OWB skillfully guided us through the design, material selection, and construction processes. (You can choose all of the materials from the vast selection OWB brings to your home, which is what we did for our two beautiful bathrooms. However, when I saw a very unusual quartzite slab at a stone yard near our house, the president of the company, Matt Plaskoff, went with me to look at it! Not only was he able to use that beautiful stone in our kitchen remodel, but he was able to get it for us at a discount!) Our two bathrooms are very small, but OWB was able to design remodels that made these small bathrooms feel much larger without having to expand their footprints! Our two bathrooms were completed in exactly the time frame promised - 8 days for the master bathroom and 5 days for the upstairs bathroom. Our kitchen took only 3 weeks. Every single project was completed for exactly the price promised, too! No up-charges, and no surprises! The same OWB team came every day, and they were very careful to not let out our two little Pomeranians! This was the best remodel experience my husband and I ever had. The owner Matt Plashkoff and his associate arrived at our home with everything we needed to create our new bathroom. We had an original, old bathroom from the 60's that was in desperate need of an overhaul. They delivered. Everything was done according to our contract and discussions, our workers were courteous and consciousness, and did great work. One of the best parts of working with One Week Bath was we were able to design our bathroom in under four hours. Matt brought many real samples of tile, flooring, etc. or used his laptop and iPad to show us fixtures and how it would look. Instead of driving all over LA looking for tile, faucets, toilets, showers, paint - it was all done in one meeting. Definitely worth every penny. read more

THE BEST! I'm a professional designer and for 25 years I've worked with many different contractors. OWB is by far one of the best I've ever dealt with. I hired them to do my own home. I had a unique situation with some unique ideas. Matt and his team were excited about solving the design issues and came up with ideas that kept me in budget. I can't say enough good things about them. One example.. there was a tiny.. TINY scratch on the starfire glass door that was installed. Before I even noticed it they told me it was going to be replaced. 2 days later it was. Yes, they are more expensive than other GCs you'll find out there but they also provide way more design services, they're extremely professional with practical solutions and they're VERY fast. 2 weeks for a complete demolition and installation. Mine was slightly more complicated than what could be accomplished in 1 week. Other contractors quoted me 6 to 8 weeks. Good luck! I hope you hire them. read more

I have a very busy life and I am not someone who has the time to run around picking out tile and faucets. The great thing about One Week Bath is that they help you design it and they bring all of the samples to you. I had at least 4 contractors look at the job, but only One Week Bath seemed to have a detailed plan on how to finish the job quickly and with high quality work. I have to say their prices are not the cheapest, but i got a bathroom I really love and they finished it quickly and very professionally. Any small problems were dealt with immediately and they really do want to make sure you are happy and will be a return customer. I am planning on using them in the future for a kitchen remodel. I would rather pay a little more for the quality they provide. read more
