Maybe I'm just a din tai fung snob, but this has to be some of the worst food I've had in town. The soup dumplings were heavily lacking soup & flavor, the meat inside tastes firm and chewy. The spicy pork wontons are tossed in straight chili oil, there's no flavor to the sauce AT ALL! They are too big to fit in one bite, the wonton wrappers are rubbery and gross, we couldn't even finish them. I also asked the waiter for a plain black tea with cold cheese foam on top and he flat out told me no because it wasn't listed on the menu despite them having all the ingredients to make it. Service was mid, food was god awful. Will never bring my people here again, would rather drive down to La Jolla where din tai fung never ever disappoints me read more

I tried this place for the first time with my hubby today and we were NOT disappointed! Their dim sum is very comparable to the San Gabriel Valley area... We loved their Siu Mai and ORDERED another one to take home! We tried to order as much as we can since we live a bit far from here but, this place is still closer than Mira Mesa! The wait time was not bad at ALL on a Saturday afternoon around 1pm. We joined the waitlist around 12:45pm and we got our table around 1:15pm... We are so happy that this place opened and we will definitely be back!!! There's not much SERVICE meaning they will not come refill your drink so you will have to flag them down if you want to order more or need something... That's ok! I came here during the Lunar New Year weekend and although my group had 8 parties ahead of us, things moved along pretty quickly. The staff were very friendly and particularly patient since my group likes to take a lot of photos. The ceiling for this restaurant is pretty high, which makes it seem more spacious than it is. Then we asked for more since we ordered around 55 pieces of dumplings and he brought us 3 more little containers then tried to say that they already included the sauce in the sealed takeout bag. My rating is based on comparisons to my (bias) love for Din Tai Fung- and it's positive so far, mainly because I'm happy to be able to find a dim sum/soup dumpling restaurant in this area. It isn't a perfect substitute, but it can satisfy a dim sum craving, if any, for the staples: shrimp fried rice, soup dumplings, wonton and udon soup (spicy or not spicy). Their udon stir fry noodles has a unique black pepper seasoning, but it was not a favorite of mine. I wish it was a more soy and sweet base sauce than the strong peppery bite. The egg rolls were not quite my preference because the wrapper doesn't have the oily crispness I look for, might as well enjoy an egg roll for all its fried goodness, right? I've yet to try the other dumplings or the egg tarts. It is definitely pricey: ie $17 l-ish fried rice Their service was welcoming and friendly. We received fairly prompt service once we ordered too. Fantastic all the way around! They're consistently busy but the wait is minimal. The food comes out fresh and fast. The service is friendly and a diner's dream! We ordered so much food but the highlights were of course the soup dumplings, the siu mai and spicy wontons. Each were a great size and plump. A bonus was the red bean buns were shaped like pigs and super cute! Also they have a boba/tea bar which is a perfect fit with dumplings. When I say service was a dream, I meant it. Water was refilled, empty plates removed, food served quickly and piping hot - all of this without having to ask or search around for staff. This area of the Inland Empire is really starving for some decent Asian restaurants of this nature. I totally forgot about adding my name to the Yelp App's wait list so when we entered the restaurant, I was gently reminded by another waiting patron that I needed to add our name to the wait list tablet by the from door's seating area for guests waiting for their table. As busy as this place was for a Friday night around 1830, we were seated within five minutes. Menus, water were quickly dispatched to our table upon sitting down. We looked at the menu which was quite expansive and not your typical Asian Chain food offerings that appeal to a more mainstream audience. There is a sheet of paper that you mark off what you want to order. If you inadvertently order the wrong item, advise your server to avoid potential confusion by the kitchen. I'm surmising the same if you want to order more than one of the same menu item(s). This is what we ordered: 1. Fried Calamari - Spicy ($9.99) We really wanted to like this one, but my wife and son who accompanied us did not. I just motored through them to not waste food. My son thought the Calamari was a little too fishy in taste, but to me it was not. The coating used had the spice in it. The squid was not spicy to me: my non-spicy food eating wife agreed it was not too spicy for her either. The texture was slightly mushy and not a bit firmer like I'm used to. Not likely to order again. 2. House Special Onion Pancake ($7.99) My wife has never had one of these before. It has now become another favorite. It arrived at our table, lightly fried, but not greasy. I let my wife and son eat the pancake since I've had them before, but they both really like the freshness of the green onions to dough ratio too. Would definitely order again. 3. Pork Xiao Long Bao (XLB) - 8 Pieces ($12.99) Read a lot of previous reviewed that ran the gamut her from good to bad. The night we had them, they were pretty decent. These had a reasonable amount of broth in each one, with the thickness of the wrapping being strong enough to allow one to pick up a dumpling from the steaming tray with chopsticks without the skin tearing and leaking the broth out. The pork filling was tasty and fresh in taste. There is black vinegar as one of the condiments on your table but the XLB's come with no fresh shredded ginger. Would definitely order again. 4. BBQ Pork Buns - 3 Pieces ($7.50) I prefer not to order these other than a dedicated dim dum restaurant or Cantonese bakery because of the pricing and sizing. I grew up eating these by the ton. Here, three tennis ball sized buns with screaming red colored pork filling arrived. While the filling was not really generous portion, it was reasonably tasty. The buns themselves were a little too pasty, doughy and heavy for my liking for $2.50 per Char Siu Bao. Would most like order these again for others in my dining group, but not for me. 5. Pork Pan Fried Dumplings - 8 Pieces ($12.99) They arrived at our table with a nice pan fried golden brown coloring on their bottom side. Inside, there was a reasonable amount of filling which tasted the same as the one used for the XLB's. We really enjoyed these. Would definitely order again. 6.Chicken Fried Udon w/Black Pepper Sauce ($15.99) All three of us have never had this before. I personally thought it was going to be more like chicken chow mein but I was wrong. The black pepper sauce is not spicy and is quite addicting. There was a generous portion of chicken interspersed amongst the pepper sauced Udon noodles and onions. It was a really enjoyable and very tasty dish. Would definitely order the chicken version again. 7. Pork Wonton w/Spicy Sauce - 8 Pieces ($11.99) Another first time dish for all of us to try. Pleasantly mildly in spice level despite the juicy pork filling wontons laying in a generous pool of soy sauce and chili oil. The few pieces of book chou added to dish were a delicious accompaniment to the won tons. I wish they either had s separate dish of the book chow in this same sauce or add a few more pieces to this dish. Would definitely order this again. 8. House Special Egg Tarts - 3 Pieces ($7.50) The best way to describe these to someone is it is like eating a Creme Brûlée (the Asian custard does not seem to have any vanilla flavor profile in it) in a mini pie shell, Would likely order again here. 9. Jasmine Green Milk Tea ($5.75) My wife ordered this. The description of her tea drink included "cheese foam" which dod not appeal to me. I have since researched what and how it tastes. Think of an American Cheesecake flavor profile. Overall, service was efficient, attentive and timely. The only time we waited was for our server to stop by our table to grab the ordering sheet. Food came out of the kitchen quickly. We really enjoyed our meal with no leftovers to enjoy at home. Glad to see a restaurant of this caliber landing in Wildomar! read more

A bit pricey for what it is, but good for the area! The parking is pretty small here so carpool or coming early would be best! The place is small inside, but decorated nicely. The staff are quick and friendly with their service. The food all came out around the sametime. My friends enjoyed their meals & so did I! I got the bbq pork buns, pork soup dumplings, and egg custard buns. I've been craving these for so long and this place hit the spot. First off don't expect friendly service. We sat for 10-15 minutesno one came by. They maybe under staffed or thats the way the run their business. Their is no one server assigned to your table , you ask for anyone's attention. We were short one plate for eating and no dipping cups were put on the table. Cute decor and nice roomy dining room. Enjoyed watching them work behind the glass. We had a mixed experience. Spicy pork dumplings were great. Bok choy mixed in it was cold when served. The shrimp tempura we would skip next time. They were greasy & seemed formed, not full shrimp. Just ok. The long bao is a huge favorite of mine & I was so sad when they arrived a bit dried out, not steaming. They were warm though. In fairness we saw other baskets coming out steaming hot so we will try one more time. I'd like to try their won ton soup. One tip - for hot tea it would be nice to have ceramic cups. The pork was well seasoned, although the fried rice was not. The pork spareribs were my favorite and had the classic dim sum flavor that I love. This is the nearest legit dumpling/dimsum place from Temecula/Murrieta area. When I say legit,I mean dumplings made fresh where you can see their kitchen through a glass window making dumplings. Other Chinese restaurants in the area that offer dumplings/dimsum are serving frozen pre-mades. Staff are welcoming and check on you regularly when not fully packed which happens on weekends. Waiting lines can be long. Come on weekdays lunch time and you'll easily be seated.
