Deceptive name. Too expensive. Dry cleaning often comes out looking wrinkled & crumbled! Poor pressing

Went here for 17 years. The original owners are gone now. A couple of years before Covid they sold it to someone else. They were okay. Post Covid saw another ownership change and increased prices. New owners are nice, but my complaint is that they wear such strong cologne that our clothes now come home reeking for days. We air them out, but then our house ends up smelling, too. I asked about fragrance-free services, thinking maybe it was the laundry detergent. Woman at the front seemed like she didn't understand, but said yes. Gave them another try. Clothes still reek, which is what led me to believe it must be cologne/perfume they wear on their person that's smelling up the clothes. After 17 years we're sadly on the lookout for a new place. :/ read more

Dollar Cleaners is a great dry clean shop. I dropped off 9 pieces and paid around $53 -ish for all 9 pieces. The cashier is so nice and very helpful! I asked about the monthly special and it only applied to men's shirts which was a bummer, but she let me know that checking in on Yelp would give you 25% off. Sooo ya girl went and checked in and my price went from $90 -ish to $53 -ish. I was told the clothing would be ready on Saturday and I went to a PT appointment right next door on Friday and went in to see if my clothing was ready by chance and it was!!! I would definitely recommend coming here! They're very professional and helpful. read more

I was quite happy with this dry cleaners until one day I brought them my super nice 100% silk evening gown. I asked them to be extremely careful with it and said I needed it in a week. They assured they'd treat my item with extra care. When I came back to pick it up, the dress was super clean, but it was missing all the decorations (a couple fabric flowers, which they usually take off prior to cleaning). When I inquired about my "garnish", they said they never saw any flowers there. They never admitted their negligence, didn't give me a refund when I asked for it, and refused to substitute the missing decorations. Which meant I had to find a new dry cleaners - there is no way I can justify giving my business to these guys. Alas! read more

A pawn shop for my clothes, as I get them cleaned, I have 30 days to pay and pick up. And they will call when your 30 days are up, so you can scramble to find the time and cash to pick up. They just offered a drapery cleaning service $15 for every $5 feet, and will come to your house to pick up and rehang. It would be ok, if I didn't have so much drapery - and they offer "no negotiation". You would think if they wanted the business, it would be a let's talk it out. Especially, when I was the first to ask after the sign had been up for a few weeks. The seamstress is the real asset here, as she will personally go to downtown Los Angeles to find that matching zipper or button to make your outfit complete. I save all my hangers, and return at around Xmas, and you get a free 3 foot long, big laundry bag complete with a tie. So there's the perk, if you really wanted to know. read more

this is the best dry cleaner i've been to in ages. they're always so polite and helpful here, and i also like knowing that my stuff isn't getting packed up into a bag and driven to some off-site plant. they have their plant on premises, and they do a very nice job with everything from simple dress shirts to multi-pleated drapes. read more

I love this dry cleaners! The people who work there are so friendly and always remember my name, even though I only go in once or twice a month. They do excellent work, and I've also gotten alterations done there and am very happy with those as well. Don't use this dry cleaners. They may be cheap and do a decent job on most clothes, but once they ruin something they are quick to say it's not their fault. I had dropped off a new solid purple John Varvados dress shirt that my wife got me for my birthday this year. 1 Dollar Dry Cleaner did a good job the first time they dry cleaned it, but on the second time, they had ruined the collar. They over pressed the collar and it left white permanent marks on it. So when I took it back to them, they said it wasn't their fault and that it was discoloration due to me wearing it. They made so many excuses and kept on saying it wasn't their fault. They also don't speak much English (or pretended) and just laugh at what your saying. They acted like I was trying to take advantage of them and that the shirt was several years old. This is the only place I have been taking my dry cleaning this year since it's close to my in-law's. I have used them weekly and they don't see the value of a happy customer - they would rather lose them. I have been to many dry cleaners during my 20 year professional career and by far this is the worst. All the places I have gone to have always tried to correct their mistakes. Other places will try to reimburse you for the damages they caused, but this place does not. Save yourself from this aggravation and take your clothes elsewhere. You may pay a little bit more but at least you won't be dealing with the dishonest owners at 1 Dollar Dry Cleaner. read more

I took a couple of pairs of slacks to be hemmed. 1 of the slacks was done with a regular hem & came out decent. The second pair came back with a wide cuff (I originally asked for a wide cuff but changed it to a regular cuff), the thread used did not match and the hem was not straight. It looked like a crooked hand stitched job. The employee that helped me was pleasant but I will not come back to this establishment nor will I recommend it to anyone. read more

I've been a customer of this cleaners for about 17 years. I've tried others but always returned! They are courteous, professional, accommodating (they will do rush jobs upon request) and will go the extra, extra mile to remove stubborn stains. Of course they aren't the cheapest (when I started going there it cost $3.25 to have a suit cleaned) but they are THE BEST. They take care of your clothes as though they belong to them. They are OUTSTANDING when it comes to tailoring; from simple hems to altering fancy dresses. AGAIN they aren't the cheapest but you can bet your bottom Dollar that the job will be done right! I very seldom write reviews for anything but because DOLLAR CLEANERS has been there for me and my family having us LOOKING GOOD on so many different occasions I wanted to take a moment to simply say THANK YOU and keep up the Wonderful Work.
