Great restaurant got fast, polite dimsum service. Quiet vibe and food is always excellent and consistent! The scallion pancakes were crispier than I remember, but also nice.

Great place to get your Dim Sum "fix" in the lower heart of Amsterdam in Overtoom. A quick walk from Leidseplein to Overtoom this is a great place if you're just checking into the Marriott and want something you know will be affordable, not a ripoff, not touristy and darn good to eat. Pluses are easy menus with photos, friendly owners and staff, large space. Minuses are it is hot inside at times. Limited beer / wine selection (hiccup) and they close at 9 PM. Worth a visit!

Well, what do you know? We're staying 10 min away and why not? We haven't had dimsum in Amsterdam and the one in Foodhallen looks suspect. The 5 stars is relative - you don't really expect Chinatown pushcart-level service and options, do you? But it's really good - the rice noodles are steamed to perfection, meats are seasoned well and are very fresh and of high quality. You have to pick your dishes from a picklist, but they have pictures!

Excellent food. Enjoyed the green tea and the staff. The portion sizes were large and filling. Excellent place to visit if you're in the area.

Finally at the tail end of a mother-daughter Europe trip, and what better way than to celebrate with some dim sum. We came in around 1 pm on a Saturday and it was half-filled. By the time we left, it was almost at capacity, so don't let the ebbs and flows of others discourage you! We had the wonton noodles, shrimp dumplings, siumai, spinach shrimp dumpling, three pocket shrimp dumpling, and pan fried dumplings. I love shrimp...maybe a bit too much. Whatever! Honestly, everything was really really good! I'm not going to flex on Yelp and list out all the different places I've had dim sum bc honestly who cares. You're reading this bc you want to know what's tasty and I'm writing this bc I know what's tasty. And let me tell you, the things we had were TASTY. Also, my mom's the harshest judge of Chinese food, and she LOVED the fried dumplings. I was a little thrown off by the way it was folded (they did it with three corners rather than the traditional dumpling shape), but delicious things come in a variety of packages. So don't judge a dumpling by its wrapper! Also, the rice wrapper of the first shrimp dumpling I had was a bit mushy, but the other ones were fine. Might've been due to coming straight out the steamer. We were pretty full by the end so even though the individual pieces were giant like back in the states (and let's be honest, of course the US would have crazy ridiculous stuffing), we left with happy tummies.

There were a lot of delicious dishes here. Everything taste exactly as dim sum should taste. The fried shrimp paste I would not order again. The batter was too thick and tasted funky. The shrimp with bell pepper was absolutely delicious and juicy. The rice cakes were authentic to it's original taste. The black pepper udon noodles were delicious but I feel could use a bit more veggies in the dish. Noodle texture was cooked well. Overall, I had a great meal here.

It's a multi-level restaurant that stays packed during prime hours, which is always a good sign for the food quality. They serve Dim Sum all day, which is a huge plus. The flavors are very traditional. While the Dim Sum was solid across the board, the Beef Chow Fun was the absolute standout--perfectly prepared with that signature "wok hei" (breath of the wok). The staff isn't necessarily warm and fuzzy, but they are efficient. Don't expect a long chat, but you'll get your food quickly. Be prepared for a bit of a climb; the restaurant spans several floors and it appears to be stairs-only. It gets very crowded, so timing your visit is key. A must-visit for Chinese food fans in Amsterdam. Just be ready for a lively, busy environment!

This particular restaurant satisfied my craving for Asian food, located next to the Red Light District. Service was very helpful and friendly, food was just as good! Was also interesting to see the Asian staff speak Norwegian also to other customers. Great place to get your Asian food fix when traveling here.

Adorning one of the walls are solar powered neko cats that wave to you from the window. On the walls are interesting art pieces, one in particular with instructions on how best to enjoy ramen. Serving us most the night was the main chef himself who observed us smile with ease at every first bite we took of each dish served. The food was quite good. Small portioned with intentions to share with others; three to four dishes are plenty for a party of two. We were starving so we ordered quite a bit. Sashimi was okay, nothing worth raving about. However, they did have two types of soy sauce for sashimi. They had the traditional Kikkoman soy sauce which is often used for sushi and sashimi and then they had the Shibanuma soy, which was ever so slightly thicker and sweeter IMO. The Shibanuma is meant intentionally to be tasted with sushi and sashimi, not to be cooked with as the server mentioned. It was tasty, most defintely. Honorable mentions were the mongolian beef stew, which came piping hot and delicious. Picture does not do the dish justice. Meat was fall apart tender, full of spice and flavor. Probably best paired with a neutral side, like white rice but we got stir fried udon noodles instead. Udon noodles were delicious as well. Simple yet well made. Noodles had good chew to them and came out piping hot. Overall, nice restaurant to try out if you're in East Amsterdam by oosterpark and craving good variety asian food.

One standout dish that truly impressed me was the Kimchi Fried Rice with Shrimp & Sweet Corn. The balance of flavors was exceptional--the tangy, spicy kick of the kimchi paired beautifully with the sweetness of the corn, while the shrimp added a perfectly tender, savory touch. Every bite was vibrant and satisfying, showcasing a creative twist on a classic comfort dish. I cannot wait for an opportunity to revisit and try their duck. It smelled and looked decadent. The ambiance is equally remarkable, blending traditional elegance with a lively, welcoming vibe. Service was attentive and friendly, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. We went too heavy on the Dim Sim, ordering six types of noodles, dumplings, and baopaos - but in reality one or two were enough for our small group. Take a look around - the main courses are running the show. As servers carrying whole suckling pigs, crackling peking ducks, and gorgeous overflowing plates of greens pass by your table, you'll regret your choice to stick with snacks. The salted cod + chicken fried rice should not be missed. Pictures on the menu are a huge advantage and let you spy on other tables to try and order better. It's not cheap - we somehow managed a €70 bill between the two of us, granted we had €17 of beer, but only one main course. They will do takeout containers, so be ready for that.

Sorry, het is niet mogelijk. But that's okay. The food comes quickly and is usually far better than the average Chinese food you're likely to find in Holland. Plus, the dim sum selection is great. I usually end up getting a noodle soup with either duck or pork, but that's only because it's late at night after concerts, and that's my favorite post-concert guilty pleasure. Everything else looks delicious, but for those who don't speak Dutch or Mandarin, be wary of asking for a description or translation in English...they might not bring you what you think you ordered. Thankfully there's a picture menu. The best part, as is usually the case in a place like this is the staff. The head waiter (maybe) is old, surly, and doesn't seem to like anyone. Or at least not me. There may have been an episode where some of my colleagues and I left origami dinosaurs and cranes along with the money, and ever since then he hasn't seemed to like any of us, even though we come in a couple times a month.
