Service was not good, but when they talked to us they were nice. We got there at 8 and didn't get our entrees until 10pm but after asking to be served. We had about 7 different people come to our table. The food was good but not worth the price and bad service. By the time we ate at 10 pm we weren't even that hungry. Then they cleaned the restaurant and turned off the lights telling us we could sit and "hang out". Everyone who came after us got their food before us but also seemed bothered. We waited for the check in the dark room because they turned off the lights. So weird. At least they brought a bottle of champagne as an apology (because we asked).

Randomly picked One Bellevue restaurant for dinner because it shows up on top of my Resy apps. It's located in the Viking Hotel. Both the restaurant and the hotel looks and feels very cozy. I would definitely consider staying here if I visit Newport again. We ordered 3 foods: 1) Burrata Strawberry Salad - surprisingly very good! 2) Scampi Pasta - one of the better pasta I have in the last 5 years. I would recommend this picture 3) Seared Scallops - nice plump fresh Scallop. On top of bed of corns, edamame, and purple cauliflower purée Overall, we had great food, great service, and great experience at One Bellevue. Definitely will repeat.

    Afternoon Tea

I've been fortunate enough to enjoy afternoon tea in a variety of different locations including London and New York. One of my favorite locations is in Denver at the Brown Palace Hotel and they charge almost the same price but One Bellevue is not even comparable. I hate to leave a lower review but this was one of the worst tea services I have ever had, especially considering how much I paid for it. It was disorganized, with poor service and just okay food. The tea was delicious which is why I gave it two stars. Specifics: 1. We were seated and waited 25 minutes for someone to come over for our tea order. Then it was like an infomercial for the tea company. Our server took an excruciatingly long time explaining what the teas were instead of just letting us order. 2. It was 45 minutes before our food was delivered. When we asked about it our server said she knew it was a problem and relating it's an ongoing issue. 3. On to the food itself. This is something I've never seen before and I've had a lot of afternoon tea. The food was not divided equally for each person. So there were not an even number of tea sandwiches. And the scones were cut into quarters instead of everyone having their own. The top layer of desserts were just a mix instead of everyone having one of each so we had to cut the tiny desserts in order to try some of each. The sandwiches were just okay, nothing spectacular but definitely not worth the price of a $49 tea. All in all this was profoundly disappointing and after I paid for six people plus a prepaid gratuity, I feel I didn't get my money's worth at all. I would never recommend this restaurant for tea at all and wish I would have read the other reviews before I went.

The service is so painfully slow here, I would struggle coming back. The space is lovely and on a very nice little street. The food was good, but not enough for everyone to try everything. Splitting scones felt a little tacky but whatever. For the price, not worth it, but an overall fine experience.

Dinner here was nothing short of Amazing ! I'm not usually a big scallop fan but these scallops were so delicious. Beyond what I expected... our dinner this evening was all prearranged and the choices were great as well. Just the perfect sized portions and all came out with great timing ! Not sure what the drinks were called that we had, but it was a lemon something and tasted great ! Super strong too !! Over all we had an amazing time here. Especially the spa. We did 3 different treatments and all were exceptional. Our suite was super nice. It for the whole historic vibe. But the shower was super tight. Watch your elbows ! Other than that is was really nice. We had a great weekend here and will visit once again soon... Aloha

This was such a lovely experience. I came with a friend and it was so fun! Great girls day lunch. I have celiac and have to have gluten free food. The chef and the amazing waitress Lynne made me feel so safe with their allergen precautions. I was provided with really flavorful gluten free finger sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries, and chocolate mousse. The tea service was really informative and delicious as well. I will absolutely be back and am so thankful for the kind and cautious service!

I came here for the dinner mostly couples outside since it was a fairly romantic spot with two fireplaces and outdoor heaters. Scallops were tasty the shrimp wontons in the curry sauce was good but not great and the scallops were perfectly prepared but better dipped in the curry sauce. The pork belly with the scallops was very chewy. The Halibut was excellent slightly overcooked. Wines were delicious and the service was great. Great date joint.

I had my tea party themed bridal shower here and it was absolutely perfect! When I was looking online for venues the Hotel Viking's One Bellevue tea room really stood out. The space was bright, beautiful, not Victorian, and served Afternoon Tea! Sign me up! The bridal party was in charge of picking the location and, lucky me, they chose this spot. The staff was awesome. Need a trash bag? One showed up in two minutes. Dietary restriction? Substitution came without a problem. Everyone was raving about the blueberry scones still being warm and they were so so delicious. The only thing I would have changed is no matter how many people were at the table the same amount of food came on the tea tray. So the table with two people got the same amount of food as the table with six. Since they paid per person I think the table with six should have got more tea sandwiches and pastries. Those tables demolished the tray where as the smaller tables had plenty leftover. Everyone seemed full and happy though! If you are looking for a bridal shower location, I highly recommend this spot. I had about 20 people and it could easily fit up to 30 if you are having a bigger event.

A very fancy place to visit and the menu was evidence of that by their prices. I have to be honest that I only came here to go to the Top of Newport for their half price raw bar on Fridays, however, since it was rainy this Friday that I went, the roof was closed. I asked if the half price raw bar was still being honored however I was sad to find out no. I still ordered my oysters but at full price... $18 for 6. I guess that's decent but I was still disappointed. I wish they would have made some accommodations for the raw bar pricing despite the weather and for this, I give 3 stars.

Had a variety of items here (breakfast, lunch, and some desserts). It was pretty expensive for what you receive. I expected more. The space is nice and the staff is attentive but not overbearing. The little jams you get with breakfast were delicious. A few negative things: room temp toast, crab cakes were mostly filler, the donuts were more like cake. If I didn't have a breakfast package with the hotel I defiantly would have gone else where. Probably won't visit again if I'm in the area with so many other fantastic places to try in Newport. Money would be better spent elsewhere. Summary: Not bad but expensive.

After waiting for over 15 minutes for someone to come, take our drink order my husband finally walked over to a few staff members and asked if anyone was servicing our table. It seems as though two different staff members each thought the other one was servicing our table, and they apologized for the oversight. Shortly after they took our drink order, a manager came over to the table with a complementary app and offered a round of drinks on the house. We definitely didn't expect this, but it was a very nice gesture. The appetizer she brought over was a twisty bread and it's something we never would've normally ordered, but it was fantastic. I had a spicy watermelon margarita and it was so good! I definitely recommend trying it. For my meal, I ordered the tuna poke bowl, which is very good. All in all I would say it was a good night. The drinks were good, the food was good. It was a lively and fun atmosphere and they were able to turn the service around. We'll likely return again.

Every time we come here the service is excellent and the food is amazing. This is what we come for right? Outstanding food and service! This year was no different than the other years and I love how the menu continues to evolve and change and everything that comes to life from the menu to the table is well thought out and bursting with harmonious blends of flavor. The presentation is gorgeous too! Plating is also important and they nail it! Okay let's gooooo! Come join our dining experience! We tried a bit of everything! We loved every bit of it. I'll mention my faves but that doesn't take away how hard it was to choose a fave! Everything was DELICIOUS ! Raw bar: Jamestown oysters . We had 10. We can't get enough east coast oysters. We live in the west side and I cannot say enough how much better oysters are on east coast! Slurp ! Mmm! Snacks: 1. Shartner's Farm Carrots: pea green pesto, pine nut, n'duja . If you're a meat, potato and pasta person and try to avoid your veggies, don't do that here. GET IT! It's such a great melody of textures and flavors that pair well. It doesn't feel like you are eating carrots and regardless it's a very dressed up bougie delicious carrot plate ! Mmmm . One of my faves out of the snacks. 2. Narragansett Creamery Burrata: green strawberry, speck, basil. Creamy, vibrant and just delicious Pasta: only had room in our tummies for 1 but every year we try different pastas and never disappoints. This year no exception. Maltagliati- hopkins southdowns lamb sugo, swiss chard, harissa, umbrian chickpea. Excellent! Pasta was perfect texture and consistency!! Little touch of spice from harissa which I loved (not overpowering). The Swiss chard was cooked to a crispy texture which I loved. I was a bit nervous about the lamb because it really can vary from place to place. However, I should have known better being from here they cooked/braised it to perfection: melt in your mouth type of soft and no weird or gamey taste. Definitely delicious pasta I recommend. Plates: 1. Duck Leg Confit- japanese turnip, spigariello kale, huckleberry conserva, duck jus. Personally my faves of the two plates but both delicious. The crispy skin from the duck and tender flavorful duck meat was just to die for. Loooooved. Plus the turnips and the amazing huckleberry conserva! Thinking about it makes my mouth water. So so good. 2. Beef Short Rib-swiss chard erbazzone, sunchoke, hazelnut. Loved it. Tasty as expected. Great flavor and tender. Dessert: 1. Olive Oil Cake- strawberry, rosé, lime curd, basil gelato. Wow! Oh wow! I'm so happy this time around they have some cake options. I love olive oil cake and now to pair with a basil gelato sounds insane right? Holy cow! Soooo good! Not what I was expecting. Strawberry, rose, lime and basil gelato flavor all work well together in this dessert. My fave dessert of the night! TRY IT! 2. Cookies N' cream: narragansett creamery ricotta, chocolate biscotti- yummy! Tasted like an elevated cookies and cream ! We loved our experience! Hopefully when you visit here, you can enjoy it as much as we do year after year. I absolutely love this place. The flavor is mild not too garlicky with an herbal earthy flavor. One of the best pasta dishes I've had. Dessert was olive oil cake with a minty flavored gelato. Everything is made in house. Once we arrived we were abruptly stopped by the hostess who would not let us enter the bar because it was "at capacity". Apparently they do not allow for standing room at their bar (weird but ok!) and we were then rudely told that it would "be a while" from the hostess who seemed to be more stressed than the President of the US. After telling her we would wait a few and being told "it will be more than a few", we were then seated (we likely waited about 10-15 minutes). Upon being seated, there were multiple 2-some tables in the bar available that (if we had been asked) we would have shared we only had time for 1 drink before dinner elsewhere. Nestled in the Wharf, it was a cute little place with both an up and downstairs. We reserved a spot for around 5:30 (in April) and it was pretty open. There weren't too customers yet, and it was nice and quiet. If you're looking for a ton of space for the seating area, I will say that there isn't too much room/it's pretty nice and cozy! At Wharf Southern Kitchen and Whiskey Bar, they've got a line of booths along the wall, a bar area right in the center and at the actual bar, a high top, another bar at one of the entrances, and a table that seats six. Now let's chat about the service. Our waitress was wonderful, patient, and was extremely helpful when asked questions and also gave SUCH wonderful suggestions. There were MANY fantastic choices on their menu and I was having a pretty difficult time narrowing down which one I really wanted, but with our waitress's help, I was able to choose pretty quickly (and they were AMAZING choices!) I'm not a big brisket girl, but I will say that this was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! At first when it came out on the bun, I was a little skeptical of how it would taste, but it definitely didn't disappoint! The brisket was cooked SO well with the perfect amount of seasoning, and it all just melted so perfectly together as I was eating it. And the tater tots were SO AMAZING (though on the saltier side) and SO perfectly crispy.
