Food was still meh. The pull pork was super dry. I would rather go to the other location in Cordova. Service was still fast.

My high school son and I have a fun game of trying to find local restaurants whenever we are out of town. We have found so many great places over time but this may be best place we've ever gone to. I told the wonderful lady that was our waitress that I had seen this place ranked 5 stars but I do not agree. I think it needs to be ranked 100 stars!!! She and the other staff were really nice too. We found One & Only while searching for a new BBQ place to try. One & Only did not disappoint. The experience starts with friendly, helpful service in a relaxed atmosphere. The dining room has limited seating but there are tables outside also. I took a chance and tried the half order of BBQ pork quesadilla. There was a lot of delicious meat in the tortilla which was nicely toasted with a little crunch. There was also a great balance of cheese and sauce. The salsa was fine but I enjoyed eating the quesadilla with sour cream and the mild barbecue sauce available at the table. We ordered the ribs wet. They were meaty and flavorful with more of a grilled than smoky flavor. They were a great change from heavily smoked ribs. The beans were tender and I liked the addition of fresh onion which added bite and freshness. The potato salad was classic, creamy, with hints of egg. I'm happy to add One & Only to my list of great BBQ places in Tennessee. read more

Ribs were above average. Very tender. Pulled pork was ok. Nothing special though. Buns that come with it are regular hamburger buns. The same with the cole slaw. Very average. Thinly sliced. Not too sweet. The beans were slap, no cap. It was of the sweet variety. And the banana pudding was pretty good too. I don't really care for it usually. But it wasn't too sweet. Small dining area. No reservations. Got quite crowded after about 1:30 with to go orders. Before that was empty when we arrived. Habanero bbq sauce has a nice kick. Nice change to corky's. read more

We are in town visiting our adult kids. Love BBQ & just had another restaurant the other day, but since One & Only BBQ was so close, we decided to give it a try! WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED... everything was delicious. Sliced brisket, dry rub ribs, green beans, baked beans & twice baked potato salad. Plus, my hubby got a slice of Pecan Pie that he devoured!!! Went to me eye doctor in Memphis. Asked about close bbq place. Everyone said one and only. We drove the extra 7 minutes to check out what they found so great about it. The waitress was unbelievably nice. We got the half rack ribs and pulled pork. The amount of food that we got was pleasantly surprising. Got half wet/half dry rub. The pulled pork was so moist and flavorful. The ribs were meaty, tender and great. I liked the mild sauce. Was a pleasant mix with the pork. The 2sides were fine. Beans and slaw. They complemented the meat very nicely. What really impressed me was the amount of meat for the price. There is not a lot of seating. The majority of people that came in were take out. And you could tell this was not their first time there. I'm sorry but one and only deserves every bit of 5 stars. read more

This place is bad. I was heading to Central, but someone at the hotel told me to go here instead. The brisket was disgusting. It looked like steak-um slices from the 80s. It was awful, and the servers knew it. They didn't care that I could only eat like two bites of it, and that I said it was bad. They had no inclination to refund me for it or even offer me something else instead. They were just happy to charge me for that crap. That tells you what the service is like. Further, the baked beans tasted like they came from a Campbell's can. They were so boring and blah. The ribs were okay, but I expected much more from a Memphis BBQ place. Shouldn't BBQ in Tennessee be good??? I can make better ribs at home. The ambiance is really lame here, and they don't serve beer or booze. Try somewhere else, anywhere else. read more

This review is 100% based on two things. Service and food. If I am getting barbecue to-go to feed a family or a party, this is my absolute favorite venue for catering. One and only has a kind of a mid Memphis flavor, with a sweet sauce and rather good sides. I like getting the pulled pork sandwich combo for however many people I'm feeding. I like that you can upgrade from beans to potato salad for a small fee. Their loaded baked potato salad is the one everybody loves made by St Clair, and I can't come by here without getting some. The deviled eggs are also spectacular, and worth the add-on to your lunch or dinner. If you are dining in, seating is limited, but their food and the scent of the smoke and meat coming from the kitchen is absolutely intoxicating. You can look at photos of celebrities and local heroes on the wall while you wait. Have a junkyard dog, covered in all sorts of chili and french fries and goodness. And don't skip the banana pudding or chocolate pie. When you're choosing a barbecue establishment in the home base for pork barbecue, there are loads of options. Let me just say the customer service is fun, friendly, and exceptional. The ladies that helped us were super sweet and just good vibes to be around! We got the pulled pork + brisket with Mac and cheese, deviled eggs, coleslaw, and pecan pie with Dr Pepper and sweet tea. The brisket was... not what I was expecting... the meat was super thin and reminded me of bulgogi meat. It was also SUPER salty. Pulled pork was much better and was delicious with the sauces. Mac and cheese was alright, overpowered by the saltiness of the brisket. Coleslaw tasted similar to KFC coleslaw (which isn't a bad thing in my friends book) lol. Pecan pie was yummy but the filling was a little... like the texture of the inside of a lemon pie. not as dense as the pecan pies that I'm used to. But sweet and a good dessert. Deviled eggs also lacked lot of flavor (maybe due to the saltiness of the brisket?) It wasn't the best deviled eggs I've ever had. It was fun to experience but not sure I'd go again. read more

Yelped the best in this particular part of Memphis and it was a toss up between this spot and Central. The other Central locations looked better and had better reviews than the one by this One & Only, so we went with One & Only. Honestly, the BBQ was okay. Not the best I've had, certainly not the worst. Just okay. I liked the variety of sides and my hubby was glad they sold individual deviled eggs. A lot of websites said the BBQ in Memphis was like no other city so we made sure to try it before we left. A local recommend this place to us and we decided to give it a go. We showed up later in the evening and were able to get a seat outside. We ended up trying out a bunch of appetizers including Onion Rings, Fried Pickles, and BBQ quesadilla. All of the appetizers were delicious and well portioned. For my main course, I decided to try the pulled pork with fries and twice baked potato salad. The meal came out after about 10 minutes and I was amazed by how large the portions were. The pork was delicious and was even better with the sauces they had on the table. The fries were bountiful and cooked well but the best dish was the potato salad which caught me by surprise. I'm usually not huge on potato salad but this was so delicious. All in all, I not only had an amazing meal here but also a wonderful experience. The entire staff was incredibly kind and even held on to my credit card after I left it there. This place has a small private parking lot in a strip mall. It is right beside a UPS store. The inside is extremely small and customers seat themselves. Tables and seats are not that comfortable. The first time we came here, we were given cold food and had to ask them to heat it back up. I am glad we gave this place another chance. We came here for a To-go order. The staff was welcoming as soon as we walked in to the cozy dining area. We sat inside but there was outside seating as well. We started with the onion rings with were so good and crispy. We got one of the family packs tonight and it was FANTASTIC. We got the six pack of pulled pork sandwiches, a big side of coleslaw, a huge side of Mac & cheese (subbed this in place of the beans). All was wonderful. We also tried their deviled eggs, twice baked potato salad, and banana pudding. Again. All of it was incredible. Highlight? Their pulled pork. It is seasoned absolutely just right and the meat seemed very quality to me. Their coleslaw & twice baked potato salad were my favorite sides. I also commend their portion sizes for the price paid. I felt like we got our money's worth. Least favorite? The Mac & cheese. My kids loved it but I don't care much for it. I prefer a baked Mac & cheese and this was more creamy like velveeta. I also felt like the BBQ sauce was super duper sweet and that took away from the meal just a bit. You should also know that the food was so fantastic I failed to take a photo first!!!! So this was a nice find! Just down the road from our hotel, we really lucked out walking into this joint, especially with all the BBQ joints this town has to offer. I think There's actually more BBQ joints here than Starbucks...could that be a first?? It certainly isn't a bad thing :) All of our food was exceptional...you could really taste and see the personal touch they put into their product here...it was obvious. One & Only BBQ has lost its touch with me lately. They've changed the recipe to their banana pudding which is so disappointing because it used to be the best. The only location that still has the best everything is their Poplar location. There is plenty of parking since it's in the same lot as the Oak Court Mall. The restaurant is clean and the staff is helpful with making suggestions to order. I usually call in my order ahead of time which makes for a quick and easy pickup. read more

This was my frist time in Memphis so I wanted to make sure I tried the BBQ and I would definitely come back here. The ribs were very flavorful and the dry rub was great. I wish the ribs were a little more tender and fell off the bone. I also had the grileld chicken wings and they were AMAZING. I don't think I would come back and not get the ribs and the grilled wings. The brisket was disappointing, I would order more ribs instead. I also got the fries which were really good and I also ordered green beans but I never got to actually touch them. Overall, pretty good spot to go to. My family and I are visiting from Virginia and this place came highly recommended from our hotel. They made sure to tell us to check out the original location on Kirby. We came in and Amber was our server. She was AMAZING. Although the place is very small all tables were full and they were super busy. We ordered the feast which was an excellent recommendation from Amber. Jason (the manager I think) brung our food out fairly quickly. The ribs were so delicious and the turkey beast was my favorite for the underdog. We were given samples of the homemade banana pudding and had to take some home.
