I also appreciate the time Monolith took to explain what was happening with my computer (granted most of it was over my head) but Bill did try to break it down to my level of understanding. Machero should be rated as Chicago's best Mac repair store…read more Its a class act like this among all the sneaky ones in the world that reaffirm there are good, decent, and honest people left in this world. My Mac's screen sizzled and then went dead after some water damage. I took the Mac to Apple and off course those self serving geniuses immediately told me my Mac is history and I would need to rebuild the entire circuit board for 900.00 or get a new computer. I was bummed and did nothing for month until I realized there is life outside apple care. So I called a few places on yelp and didn't get some good vibes. Most of them wanted to charge me non refundable fees to see if they can fix it and some over the phone also said i needed a new circuit board. So my intuition told me to call Machero and they told me to bring it in for free estimate, no obligation. I figured worse case they would tell me what the others did about a circuit board. An hour after I brought it in, Gino tells me the only thing that was damaged was some memory chips and he can repair everything for under $100.00 total. Now, let me reiterate. I know as much about Macs as I do about astrophysics so he could have told me the bogus b.s. the other places told me and taken me to the cleaners Instead, his focus was on me as a person, not me as a number, or a receipt. Maybe if more businesses and their owners were as decent and ethical as he was, they'd be in business and not part of our financial fiasco. So let me save you time and money and headaches. Be like NIKE: Don't think, just do it, and if you have a Mac issue, bring it in for some real people skills in fixing your mechanical ones.

Gino and I got in touch because of an event I was running for FreshBooks. I needed a space and wanted to spend as little money as possible. I reached out to some of our customers in Chicago and Gino was SO awesome to get back to me super quickly and offer up his space to host our workshop. He worked with me to secure catering, audio-visuals and anything else I needed. Srsly -- ANYTHING! I needed a bunch of chairs and rental places weren't down with renting only 50. He got in touch with a nearby church and helped us arrange a donation to its after school program. AND helped me carry and drive over the chairs throughout one of the city's first snowfalls of the year. Incredible. Gino was the best host ever and I'm basically spoiled for out-of-town events for the rest of my life. Best dude. Best.

My office found Kopy Kat only a few months ago, and we wish we had found them sooner. Getting…read morestarted with them has been easier and more comfortable than my previous two copier companies. Our sales representative actually listened to our concerns about our 'worst fear' of being down entirely and what it would mean to us. Instead of just assuring us service would be fast, he came up with a low cost, creative solution that none of the other representatives even considered (plus, of course, we understand that service is fast). When they installed the copier, we had some issues with our networking and it took far longer than they could have estimated to get it done - working online and on the phone with my office's (only semi-competent) IT consulting company. [We are in the process of changing IT companies, but it has not yet been done]. KKC representatives did not complain or talk of possible extra charges due to the unexpected complications that it turns out were not caused by them. After the install was done, they took the extra step of making sure the copier was successfully connected to each of my office's computers. While doing so, they discovered that two of my computers were running extremely slow - for reasons entirely unrelated to the copier installation. Instead of ignoring them or just telling us there was a problem, they determined that some kind of 'network switch' was failing, and offered to obtain and install a replacement for us. Within 30 minutes it was done, and we were charged only for the purchased part. I feel like we are now in good hands with people we can trust. I know it is not only the copier itself, as we have had four Canon copiers over the last 20+ years. KKC made this the smoothest transition to a new copier yet, and I feel more secure than I did with the other companies.
