Pivotal Hope Solutions has been billing us for three years at $15.95 per month. It was for an annual inspection of our furnace and air conditioning. Funny part about this- we never contracted them to do any of this. We never even heard of them. They responded that they had contacted us on email and when I asked what it was-they gave us a totally wrong email. Today we asked for a refund of this or to pay for the three last years of service calls. They said they cannot do it. We were on the phone for over an hour and they refused to give names of who we spoke with and they refused to put us through with management because 'no one is available and they can't give out names'. This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever had to deal with. We are senior citizens and cannot afford to take this loss. read more

Latest update on veteran rebate, call 7! After waiting 3 months, I figured to try again, no one ever called, no rebate, no credit, no email or letter of explanation. This time I was switched to customer service, rep extracted my story...again, last Wednesday. My 1st question to him....." isn't this information in my record ". Nope! Told my story, "I'm so sorry, let me call you back later today ( Wednesday ) after I check into this, give me your phone number". I have a sense of humor, I told them by Friday was ok, I figured he might need a little extra time. Guess he did, again no contact at all, today is Monday, no contact by anyone, no email, or phone message, no request for extra time for checking with other people, nothing. Maybe if they keep changing their name their poor reputation won't follow them? Oncourse, Pivotal, NICOR, my Customer # 115693, call me if you want to help me. My quest continues.......... I received notice that "I signed up" for some warranty service for my gas line. I have never signed up for any such service, nor will I pay them for any such thing. This company is so full of $hit that when I called them to find out why and how I received this notice, the person on the line acted like I "must have signed up." I said, no I would never sign up for this and this is nothing short of fraud. At that time, my representative went silent and I was on the line until it disconnected. When I called back, I went through the press 1 for English prompt and then it rang 1 time and then, my call went silent. I stayed on there until Pivotal disconnected the line again. Nothing short of fraud and I cannot wait to be a part of this lawsuit. Hopefully they are doing it across the US and it get the attention of the US Attorney General. read more

I have scheduled sservcie three times for basic maintenance which I pay monthly for on my Nicor bill. Three times, inclduing today, they have been a "no show" without even a contact to state that. Thus I stay home for nothing but apologies from their poor customer servcie reps. This is not the first time they have not showed up as promised, and did not call. They did this winter for the heating maintenance. It is basically fradulent that they take money for service which they do not provide. ZERO STARS. I had an air conditioner installed and it ran non stop for 2 mo, rarely hitting the set point. I chalked it up to the hot days. had a technician come back out...there was no Freon in my new conditioner. my ComEd bill was tripled for 2 mo bc it ran non stop. the technician legit told me to call and demand a refund bc of the botched install. A "Representative of the president " of the company called me back to tell me that there's nothing she can do. the person who installed it said he filled it. Then proceeded to lie and say the technicIan who came back out, said it was due to a dirty filter (1.5 mo old). yea ok. The only way I can receive a refund for the $200 additional I spent on my comEd bills, was to prove the bill was high from due to the unit. I called ComEd- they said that's a joke of an excuse bc they know there is NO WAY to narrow down what appliances used the most electricity. Jasmine (the "representative of the president " was so unbelievably condescending while talking to me. when I asked for the contact information of the company (headquarters address, email...direct line)- I was quickly cut off and told that I can directly through her and no one else. I contacted the BBB. They are a dishonest, scamming company . BEWARE. read more

I signed up for a power surge warranty ($10,000) since March of 2022. i had a power surge that wiped out some appliances and other electronic devices. I filed a claim with Oncourse Home Solutions, and they told me that I had to get my own electrician or qualified professional to come and validate the claim with the equipment/appliances that were faulty. It took me a couple of weeks to do this as well as I was required to pay for all the replacements. I submitted all the paperwork into Oncourse and on August 8, 2024. They told me at first it would take 4-6 weeks from the day I submitted the claim. On September 25th, I receive an email stating they needed the electrician's contact number in which I responded to them shortly with the phone number by email. I called on October 1st to learn that not only was my case denied but it was closed. They had closed my case on September 30th. I have tried several times to contact the claims department but they have no phone number and the only way you can reach them is by email. Even their front representatives cannot contact them through phone. This is terrible service and I have done everything they have asked of me. I feel this company is a hoax and beware!!! I have tried to speak to a supervisor, and they state there is no supervisor on site. I was told if I cancel my service now that I would negate my claim which I don't understand if I have paid for this service when my power surge went out, why would this not be covered from that coverage period. Again I feel this company is a hoax because all they want to do is sell you a plan and when you have a claim, they wait a long period of time to respond and then give you the run around while you are still paying for a plan. I plan on getting my legal counsel involved in this at this point. Do not do business with this company because they are misleading and do not follow through on their contracts. read more

My water heater, which I lease from Pivotal Home Solutions d/b/a American Home Solutions, blew and began leaking on the cellar floor early Friday evening. I called AHS to report leak and they stated that business hours were Monday-Friday, 8-5. Their website says 24/7 customer service. However, I discovered that this means a non-native English speaking rep answers the phone (probably remotely) and offers to schedule service during "normal business hours." Despite telling two CSRs that this is an emergency, the earliest I would see someone to fix the problem would be Monday. I scheduled the appt. and was then told that in order for the responding technician to come in and do the work, the area would have to be dry. I reiterated that I have a leaking 40 gal. water heater and there is no way it will be dry. She repeated that the technician wouldn't do any work if the area is not dry and I will be charged for the visit. After telling her again that the heater is leaking, she repeated the same "it has to be dry" narrative. I tried to cancel all service (which she couldn't do and had to wait until Monday when the Leasing Office would be open) with American Home Solutions and called my own plumber. Long story short, my plumber was going to dispose of the water heater when he finished installing the new one. When I finally got someone on the line this morning, I was advised that if AHS didn't pick it up, I would be charged a buy out charge. So AHS's water heater will remain in the back yard until they come pick it up. I asked for it to be picked up today and was told that the only thing that would happen today would be someone calling to schedule the pick-up. No guarantees on timeline for pick-up. Each time I have called AHS, I have had a 20-40 minute hold on the phone. If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. As a "service company," Pivotal Home Solutions d/b/a American Home Solutions is a sham. Don't waste your time and money, because good service is a pipe dream. read more

I have been trying for three days to reach NICOR Home Solutions to have my winter maintenance for my furnace but was put on hold for a very long time. I think their system is horrible. They are the solution provider for Nicor Home Solutions. I had my stove with a gas leak that was assessed by Pivotal Technician. Because I had covid-19 in January, they refused to send out a repair man to assess if he could repair and the guy on the phone said to just replace. I called ABT who replaced and when I filed the claim for reimbursement they denied me saying I did not have a Pivotal technician to verify the need for a replacement. Well I should have gotten that from him in an email because I was set up for failure and now I am paying them $70 a month for the plan for what reason. Don't do it. Save the money and pay the repair yourself as most of these plans have more exclusions than inclusions and way too much red tape and delays. SCAM!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! We had a furnace fail in the dead of winter. Was on hold forever (literally about 40-50 minutes) just to talk to someone. They did not have enough people staffed to keep up the calls . After a lot of time wasted, someone finally got on the phone and told me they had no one available to come out and service my furnace that day. Unacceptable. It was freezing and an emergency. After my own prodding/complaining, he finally told me I could get my own vendor and follow a process after the fact to get reimbursed the $400 or whatever I was entitled to on the insurance. So I very luckily found someone to come out and get the heat back on that day. The paperwork process to get reimbursed after the fact was a ridiculous hassle. I was extremely upset after the whole fiasco so stopped paying the monthly fee assuming that would cancel the service (I was done after this). I keep getting invoiced, so called today to "officially" tell them I no longer wanted the service (since not paying your bill is apparently not notice enough). They told me I am still liable for everything I was charged in this interim period (even though I received a suspension notice concurrent with nonpayment). A notice which any normal person would assume means that the contract is null and void (you are not paying so they are not providing). Buyer beware. Somewhere in their fine print they reserve the right to keep you on the hook (even when you're done and want to stop the service via non-payment) for every single day until you call and waste another half hour on the phone listening to them read you a bunch of garbage to formally and finally close the account. What a hassle and waste of my time. No one will look out for you and your family better than you will. I have much better success when struck with emergency to find the vendor myself versus relying on a company that can't handle itself in weather emergencies because it's too cheap to adequately staff. read more

This is the worst company to do business with. Take your home warranty business elsewhere. If you schedule services during the season they won't be able to service it during that season. Meaning to service your AC for the summer you have To call during the early spring and for your furnace you have to schedule during the summer or else they won't come out. not happy with new services, whenever I had a plumbing issue, I could in and have Aqua Flow Plumbing come out to repair my problems. My mothers home in Lansing, Illinois recently received a new water meter which was installed by a contractor hired by the Village of Lansing. How did NIcor Home Solutions know that she had just got a new water meter? I called the Lansing Public Works and they knew nothing about inspections of their new water meters. You want to know about Nicor Home Solutions? Go to the Consumer Utility Board (CUB) website and search for Nicor Home Solutions. Scammers from the word go, and they are NOT NICOR gas, a government regulated company. Read their ad flyers carefully; the last one I received would cover the water and sewer lines ONLY to the front of your home lot. If the damage went out to the street (municipal property) that is not covered. THAT is where the serious money comes in...if the city has to dig up the street/parkway for repairs it can go into mega-thousands. Nicor does not cover that. I just had a neighbor who renovated his house and replaced the water lines going out to the street. Cost: $15,000. Only for the water service lines, not including sewer line. Nicor Home Solutions will not cover that. Also: https://www.complaintsboard.com/nicor-solutions-rip-off-scam-c277139 read more

HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! 0 stars! On 5/12/20 NHS came out for annual AC maintenance. The guy they sent was new and had no idea what he was doing. He stated he took a part off but we were going to need a technician because what we needed done he was unable to do. Prior to him arriving, we had good cold air. When he left, we had no air. On 5/29/20 the "qualified technician" came out with his female companion and stated it was the compressor that went out and deemed it because it was an old unit. I don't care if the unit was old as Methuselah, it was working perfect before anyone from NHS arrived. He stated he would have someone contact us to provide us with a quote for a new unit.
