Saw this place featured on Triple D and decided an 80 mile road trip for lunch sounded like fun. I had the meatloaf panini and my date had the turkey and cranberry cold sandwich. Both were delicious. Staff was very pleasant and offered info on daily specials. Sandwiches, soup, salads on the menu along with a display case full of baked goodies. Definitely a local joint with friendly patrons. A fellow dinner offered up several suggestions for things to see and do in the area. This place is well positioned for grabbing lunch on a trip between Portland and Seattle. Nice, homey atmosphere. The service is warm and friendly. HOWEVER, the portions were meager and that's being kind. I'm typically not a big portion, restaurant eating American but I like to get ENOUGH. I ordered the brisket sandwich and when I looked at the plate when it arrived it looked to me that everything this restaurant was doing to cope with the current recession was reflected on what WASN'T on the plate. The brisket was barely present, lacked smoky flavor and there was ample room for more potato chips on the small sized plate. Potato chips, people. We're not talking filet mignon. My date had better luck with the soup and salad, but at $18 she should have. The place was packed, business was good, so why scrimp on the portions? I'm not likely to return until at least the recession is over, I prefer to get what I pay for and at $12 for a sandwich it didn't happen here. read more

This is my newly discovered FAVORITE lunch spot in all of Lewis County. I don't know why I waited so long to go here. The menu is packed with healthy choices made with fresh and often organic ingredients. The choices are varied and all healthy. I love that there is usually a new offering each time I go. Very creative and impressive food! My favorite is the chicken curry salad with basil pesto dressing. YUM! The tuna melt is also delicious. I cant wait to make my way through the menu. Service is always rriendly but not the quickest. the place fills up and usually they have one runner/food deliverer. On good days you get your food in about 15 minutes but I have waited 25-30 on many days. Dont come here if you have a limited amount of time unless you see 5 cars in the parking lot or less. The cafe is cute and I love the decor. There is also a little shop to buy some healthy ingredients that are otherwise hard to find in Lewis County. The prices here are a bit steep for Lewis County but then again organic fresh food usually costs more. Try this place - you won't regret it! read more

My wife and I stopped in for lunch recently while visiting the outlets. For those COVID concerned the tables are adequately spaced and there is plenty of room. I had the French dip and my wife had the turkey artichoke panini. My sandwich was good, 3.5 out of 5. My wife's sandwich was a 10!!! Possibly the best sandwich I have ever tasted. Hot, crunchy, the turkey and artichoke were absolutely amazing. We will absolutely be back and I know what I'm getting!! read more

I fell in love with Joys the first time I came in and have been coming for years. They make the best home made soup in the area. Their food is always fresh and so wonderful and full of flavor! I'm down in Chahalis/ Centralia area a couple times a month & I enjoy calling ahead & getting an order to go. The last couple of times the phone system is weird, & today I called & got put on "Terminal Ignor" for about Ten Minutes & hung up. Had them cater side dishes for a wedding. They were an hour+ late. Refused to use disposable pans so we had to clean their pans and return before midnight. And the stuffing was soupy mush. Maybe don't use them for catering and just stop in for lunch. read more

This place is awesome! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and warm! Vegan friendly! Not just that, it's f**king delicious! Dog friendly! They have a cover porch outside which is perfect if you dont want to leave them in the car. I had the Vegan Lentil panini and it was so good. This is "hit the spot" kind of food. We saw this place on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and had to try it since we were driving past it. Had the most delicious meatloaf panini with a pesto spread that was a surprising delight and my wife enjoyed her turkey and artichoke panini. Place also has a tremendous bakery for sweets or on-the-go food and the staff was just an absolute joy to deal with. Friendly and pleasant all around. Atmosphere is cozy and quaint, which works given its relatively small size. A little of the beaten path, but worth the travel. read more

Quite possibly the best vegetarian sandwich I have had. They will make it veg or vegan. Those of us who like to eat veg. Know how hard it is to find good tasting food. This is a fantastic place. Very comfortable, inviting and cozy. Food is tremendous. Everyone that works there is genuinely friendly and they make sure your meal is what you expected. This restaurant was featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives" on the Food Network. I changed my travel plans and drove from Portland to Seattle after I saw the show. A very good decision. Wonderful stop with options that will satisfy everyone in your party. We we're just passing through, with our pup, so we posted up out on the front porch area, but the inside is quaint and cozy and begs you to browse for goodies. It was Dec/Jan when we came through so quite breezy and there are no heaters on the porch, so plan accordingly. We sipped on a hot cup of coffee while we waited (self serve and great taste; no cream needed and freshly made). Husband had a Rueben on their homemade bread and all of the flavors were perfectly balanced; not drowning in sauce, melty and lovely. I had the BBQ Brisket sandwich which had thinly sliced meat (not fatty), not too much sauce, and lots of roasted garlic and onions on crispy roll. We also split some of the kale & sausage soup that was wonderful and came with a slice of more homemade bread (this one looked to be a zucchini/seed type(?), already buttered and warm. What a find!
