Delicious old world bakery find in downtown Chehalis. Cannolis, sandwiches, quiche and more in this quaint little spot. Very reasonable pricing and yummy spot to pick up breakfast pastries or lunch for a meeting.

    Veggie sandwich and lentil soup

Met up a friend for lunch, so this time I actually ordered food instead of just pastries. I don't tend to like how veggie sandwiches are made at restaurants. They usually end up being to dry for my taste, or the herbs or something is a little too strong. No so here, wow probably one of best tasting veggie sandwiches I've had. The sauce and the sun dried tomatoes really did it. The lentil soup was so good as well.

Clean, nice decor, well spaced tables. Outdoor seating also.

Can't wait to try more!! Very friendly, informative help. Their semolina bread is scrumptious! Marionberry tart my favorite Cookies just right Almond croissant amazing. Looked over cooked but it was light flaky soft inside with perfect filling. Better than the La Bou 's that I'm used to, and that's saying a lot!! I wish they were open weekends. Thé Reuben panini was good. Don't expect a NY deli style. Different soups daily. I'm told tues is the tomato basil, I will have that next time with a salad.

    Delicious roasted vegetable sandwich

Great cafe for lunch and a study break on my drive from Portland back up to Seattle. It's about halfway from Portland to Seattle, and there's plenty of street parking out front up and down the street. This bakery has wifi, so I was able to get some solid studying done. There are lots of tables to sit at, as well as some comfy chairs by the windows. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and I ordered a roasted vegetable panini, which was amazing, an almond croissant, and a mint chocolate chip cookie, which other reviewers rave about. I loved the sandwich, since I love roasted veggies, melty cheese, and they had this great pesto mayo sauce on it which just made it even better, all on crispy toasted bread. The almond croissant was underwhelming. It had good almond paste and flavor on the inside, but the pastry itself was chewy, not crispy or flaky like a really good laminated pastry usually is. I was honestly underwhelmed by the mint chocolate chip cookie. I prefer my cookies a little softer, and these seemed almost a tad overbrowned. Overall, great little bakery to stop by off I-5 on a roadtrip, and the sandwiches were great. I also had a sample of the baguette and it was amazing. The staff seemed to know a lot of the clientele that walked in, which is a sign of good, friendly service.

Delicious bread and lovely baked goods made fresh daily. I can't finish my grocery shopping without a loaf of sourdough from this bakery.

We have had some of their delicious yummies at local festivals or events, and at the Mad Hatter Play Cafe where they have some items for sale; but this was the first time we had actually been into their shop ... "Ground Zero, as the owner described." =) The atmosphere inside was warm, cozy, and very inviting. I took my two boys there for a morning treat that we could have throughout the day and honestly, it was hard for me to decide what I wanted. The kids were easily beckoned by the Chocolate Chip Cookies! Ha! They both loved them (I did too, as I snuck a bite of one). Soft, thick, and just the right amount of chips. The cookie itself was good too. Some of the delights that the owner had made that morning included Pumpkin Squares, Brownies, Scones, and other types of Cookies. Being the apple fiend that I am, I went with the Apple Turnover! Boy was I happy about that decision. Flakey pastry, sweet and tart apple filling, and just a wee bit of icing on the top made this a great choice. I had planned on just having part of it that morning and the other part around lunch time ... but, you know ... it all just happened to disappear in the morning! =) The owner was equally delightful and extremely kind. She welcomed us straightaway and was very friendly, patient, and great with my kids. What I didn't know, what that she also carries other items too - in addition to sweets. Knick-knacks, candies, mugs, stuffies, cloth bags, and even Ice Cream!! This was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back for more!!
