"Health is guaranteed." Two weeks after bringing him home, he had to have surgery and was consequently neutered too early. The owner never responded. His sister had parasites from drinking the water from the creek behind the house. For the first three years of his life, he was relatively ok. At four, his hair started changing. He developed severe allergies, and his nails began falling out. He has been eating freshpet for most of his life, and our other westie (who is five years older and healthy, not from Snowestie) has been eating the same thing. Genetics must play a role. He has lost an eye due to early-onset glaucoma. He is blind. He is bow-legged. He has asthma. His feet hurt him. His nails fall out because of a connective tissue issue. He is uncomfortable. Our other westie is 16 and only has mild allergies. His sister was owned by a couple in a nearby neighborhood. They are retired and spent a lot of time caring for her, but at only four years old, she died from organ failure. I give two stars only because we love our dog, and I am hoping that in the last decade, there have been some changes.

She never smiled, didn't ask any questions about grooming (I had to offer what we were looking for), and she didn't get to know my dog before basically dragging her away. (My dog cried the whole way back. Definitely made me nervous for how she would be treated when I was gone.) Neither one of the staff members asked for proof of her rabies shot and I had to ask them if they needed that too. It's a requirement that they have it on file for all dogs receiving services. Makes me wonder if they just don't actually check. My dog looks good, so the grooming is fine. My dog's eyes have been watering since she got home though, so I don't know if they got their shampoo in them or if she was sensitive to the products they used. We haven't had this happen before and she's been going to a groomer for 4 years. We'll definitely stick with PetSmart. They are very sweet to her, actually seem excited to see her, they discuss everything with us before we leave and their customer service skills are much better.

Then I saw the 4% charge ($6.40) for using a credit card, so I mentioned that. I would have paid with a debit card or check. She said we need to brush them, so I bought one from them. that she highly recommended.... $36.97 but it is $9.99 on Amazon. Same brush with curved bristles. The lady I talked to said she would tell her boss, Bee, to call me, but Bee never did. That is the reason I am giving them a poor rating. They don't care about me when I was trying to give them a chance to make it good.
