I entrusted my dog to this man's care while I was out of town, and the outcome has been…read moredevastating. I found him through the Nextdoor app and relied on his stated experience and trustworthiness. When I returned after five days, my previously healthy, active four-year-old pit bull was unable to walk. I have since spent thousands of dollars on veterinary care, and my dog's quality of life has been permanently altered. To this day, I have not received a clear or consistent explanation. I was told my dog got out, was missing for several hours, and later was found. I was not aware he was even injured until after he was picked up by my brother the next day when my brother noticed he was hurt. Even if that account were accurate, he didn't take any accountability for the fact that my dog's back legs are paralyzed and a clear story hasn't been given. He claims he was standing outside while my dog was chewing the fence to escape but if that's the case why continue to let him chew it? Nothing is making sense and when I asked him about it he got defensive. All I wanted was answers. Three weeks later, my dog is still suffering. He lives in constant pain, cannot walk without assistance, and is largely confined to bed rest. When I contacted this man seeking clarity, I was met with anger and defensiveness rather than accountability or concern. This situation reflects a serious lack of transparency, judgment, and responsibility. I strongly warn others not to entrust this person with the care of their pet.

It's taken me 3 years to come to terms with this. I'd like to recognize the owner of Mud Puppy and…read moretheir staff for being wonderful people. I had brought my senior Pug in for services a couple of times before for a nail dremel. (2018/2019) Max Kermit was almost 15 and he'd suffered a stroke 2 years previously.I felt fortunate and blessed he was still alive. I erroneously thought this day would be like any other time... my teenaged daughter & I were up front waiting for Max to be done.I had previously gone back with him before because he was frail but I thought I should stay with my daughter and then she had refused to go back with me.Only men were coming in (very busy that day) and I hesitated to go back (obviously this was all before COVID) but I thought to myself no he's in great hands, he's been here before and the staff is always so good with him. To my horror one of the girls came frantically rushing up and said there was a problem. I went back with her and my little buddy was clinging to life. I flipped out. He was still breathing- the young woman that was doing his nails- I can't recall her name - was so precious. She drove us to an emergency vet in Braselton. Max Kermit I believe had taken his last breath when we were driving there.I was hysterical. My daughter that was with us had Max Kermit practically her entire life. She was 6 months old when we got him.My oldest daughter was almost 3 years old and he was the light of her life. He had been all ours.He made everything better. Back to the review- these women were wonderful in a clutch. She stayed with me at the vet and was so empathetic. I was thankful I got to hold him for as long as I did. She cried with me- it has taken me this long to write & talk about this but if you're reading this you were an angel that day. The owner called me later that day. She was upset also but I did say I don't hold anyone responsible and told her how much I appreciated the groomer and I thanked her for her call. Gosh I was so heartbroken. The owner sent me flowers and a sweet note. Do I recommend this business? Yes I do. I had great experiences there prior to the last one but that was not their fault. I do have 2 little 2 year old Pugs that I routinely take to their vet for nails but I may stop in.
