If I could give 0 stars, I would. I don't even know where to start... I just picked up my standard golden doodle and to say I am unhappy is putting it lightly. My golden doodle is 2 years old, 70 lbs, has been groomed every month since I got him at 8 weeks, and gets brushed several times a week because of his coat texture. Let me first say that I found this groomer from another owner of a golden doodle so I completely trusted them without reservation because I was told ' they really listen to what you want' and I know I can be a bit picky on how I like my dog groomed (nothing crazy mind you, just don't poodle my doodle!) My usual groomer was pretty booked up and I didn't want to go past our usual groom schedule so I thought I would give Pets Top a try, and I'm sorry I did, I 100000% should have waited for my usual groomer. I dropped my dog off a little earlier than our appointment time at 11:30 AM so I could talk to the groomer and just show her pictures to make what I wanted done pretty simple. I showed the lady a photo of one of his last grooms and said I wanted the same exact thing. She said his hair was thick and she might have to cut it a little shorter but it shouldn't be a problem. My dogs groom is usually 3 hours sometimes longer if it's a new groomer ( I move frequently so we are always having to find a new groomer) well when I still wasn't notified after 5 hours, I just went to the show to see if maybe my contact info got mixed up and when I walked in she was still working on my dog. And the worst part.. to put it simply, my dog is a little less than shaved, yes SHAVED. His hair was about 3 inches before we went in and I could easily run my fingers and a wide tooth dog comb through any of his fur. (A previous groomer gave him terrible mats by giving him back to me 75% wet, needless to say I am very diligent in making sure he never has mats again) I am SO upset as this is why I really try and research and find groomers that how know to work with bigger dogs with a little more fluff. If your dog needs anything more than a bath, I wouldn't recommend this place as my dog looks COMPLETELY different than the photo I originally showed her and she didn't listen to my grooming instructions at all. We will never come back here. read more

I am one of the regulars of Pet's top. It has been a good year if not more since our not-so-puppy has started going. We had horrible experience back in another midtown grooming place where my dog had bruises after bath. She gets easily scared but never aggressive kind, so it was traumatizing experience for both of us. However, Pet's Top has always been so pleasant place for my dog - where she would run towards to the shop as we get out of the car. I love how Pet's top has always calming and loving attitude towards all dogs and customers. Everyone can see how she will trim other dogs out in the open. I never feel worried or concerned having my dog there and grooming as I am 100% sure she is being loved. I fully understand my dog can be difficult to deal with sometimes as she is skeptical, but I've never seen my dog scared or scarred after grooming experiences. She always hate to leave the place, actually. :) We will continue to be their customer and hope all other dogs have similar experience! read more

I found Pet's Top through reading online reviews. There weren't many but the few I found were very very good. I took Mona there when she was about 4 months and the owner embraced her with open arms. A lot of other groomers will not cut puppies that small or will charge an arm and a leg to groom them. She's been back every month since then. Mona is a maltipoo-shihtzu mix and about 10 lbs. Her full groom is $45 and mini-groom is $40. I also recently got her teeth brushed for $8 but the owner gave me a small discount. When I bring her in around 11AM, she's done around 3PM. If I bring her in later in the afternoon, she's usually done around 5-6. Pet's Top opens from 8AM-8PM so there's a wide window which is convenient. The owner does the grooming herself with one other person to help, I think. She gives the dogs personal attention and care so they are calm when groomed. Mona comes back to me just as I ask and smelling so very clean! My sister also takes her 2.5 year old, 15lb yorkie, Kennedy, to Pet's Top after I recommended the place. Kennedy costs $40 for a full groom. It's actually the only groomer he isn't terrified of. I'll be moving across town sometime soon and will still make the drive to get my dog groomed there. She's very busy since she's the only groomer so make sure you call ahead and make an appointment. It'll be worth it! read more

There are not a lot reviews for pet groomers in this area. So it's hard to choose one and feel 100% confident. I'm so happy I have this place a shot. I love that everything is open and you can see what's going on. The dogs aren't kept in a "back room" out of view. Also, you drop off for a specific appointment. Your dog isn't kept waiting in a cage all day. So, that is a huge plus in my book. The grooming job was beautiful and very affordable. I will definitely be back and recommend Pet's Top to other dog owners. read more

I just picked up my Westie after being groomed at Pet's Top. He is almost 10 years old and has seen many different groomers over the years. He does not have a traditional Westie cut (our choice) and trying to get this across to past groomers has always been a challenge, even with verbal descriptions and photos of the look we were hoping to achieve. Great neighborhood pet salon! The groomers are friendly and consistent. They do get booked pretty quickly, so I would recommend calling and making an appointment. I love this pet spa because it's clean and small. I have gone to other large pet salons that have number of dogs locked up in kennels trying to get as many dogs groomed for the day. Since, this is a family business, the owners personally take care of the animals that come in thus may take longer time in grooming. Overall, highly recommend this pet salon! read more

I have two Shih Tzu puppies and they are getting their grooming done at this shop (shop owner has a shih tzu as well). I had found her when I was living in Alpharetta, but now I reside in Atlanta. I now drive 25 minutes to get there, but it's worth the drive. There are many, many grooming shops but I go to Pet's Top for their honesty and care. She's someone who I can trust. The owner/groomer is truly a dog lover who cares for the dogs who come for the grooming. She's not only my groomer but I board my dogs over there as well. I have found myself a good groomer and I'm holding on to her~ because with Pet's Top, my pets are in their Top condition~! ** Price is reasonable as well. Grooming can be very expensive as you know... Upon reading the ones about Pet's Top I decided to try this place and am EXTREMELY pleased with the results! I have an English Springer Spaniel which I don't see a lot of in the area and was nervous that the groomer would not be familiar with the cut but she got it spot on! I have been searching for a groomer who knows how to groom Shih Tzu's without just shaving them. Thanks to the online reviews, I have found the place. Our Shih Tzu's both weigh about 10 lbs and it's been hard to find a place in this area of GA that cuts their coats in the puppy cut style. Others just shave them down. This groomer did a fantastic job. She listened to our needs and made sure that she understood exactly what we wanted before taking our pet back. When we picked our puppy up, she looked great and was not stressed at all. The owner did a fantastic job and I will be bringing both Shih Tzu's here from now on. I love this groomer! I have taken puppies, Senior dogs, big and small dogs...these people are GREAT! I think their prices are fair but I would pay more to go to them due to specialized treatment. I think very highly of their knowledge of breeds and what is the best approach for the dogs well-being. Knowing that my fur-babies are in good hands is priceless! read more

I'm updating my review because after over 4 years of regular patronage, I was basically turned away. Boo had been grooming my Pomeranian, Myles, every 6 weeks for over 4 years with no issues. Suddenly, out of nowhere, she stated that he was very matted and required a lot more combing out. I felt bad and tipped her extra on that visit. The next time I returned she mentioned it again and said I should comb him out at least every other day on my own to make it easier for her and Myles the next time I visit. When I returned the 3rd time, she basically turned me away. I drove 40 minutes because she does a great job and is reasonably priced. Needless to say, I was disappointed and shocked when she told me that she couldn't groom Myles that day. I had an appointment and drove 40 minutes that morning. I even offered to pay her more. I went to another groomer the next day and was told that Myles was not heavily matted at all. I called Boo and she said that it'll probably be better that I have someone closer to home. I asked her specifically if it was something I said or done....or even if it had something to do with something Myles did. She said no. I'm just very hurt, saddened and disappointed. Like I said, I have been a regular customer for over 4 years. To be turned away like this was very disappointing. read more
