The staff who care for your furry family member should take extremely care of your animal and observe abnormal behavior in your animal from the time they arrive. I boarded my dog here twice. Each time my husband dropped her off. The first time my husband picked her up and when she got home she was coughing, vomiting and had diarrhea. I had to take her to the emergency room. The second time, I went with him to pick her up and when we got her home she had diarrhea and couple days later she started vomiting and her stool look like it had blood in it so again we had to take her to the emergency room only this time she did not make it. My baby passed away. I call the facility and spoke with a staff member to ask about any charge in her behavior and was told that she was extremely scared and was shaking. This is a behavior change. Someone should have contacted me to say that she was not happy there and was scared for her life or shaking. I understand it take money to run a facility. Yet! The first thing the staff members should realize is that these animals are our family and if something is not right with them call the owners and let us know. If only ONE staff member would have called me, I could have gotten her out of there by having transported to the hospital and my little Bella will still be here. Please think twice before you leave your love one at this boarding facility. The staff members need more training and need to know that these animals are not just dogs, they are our family. I'm crying as I am writing this review because all it took was a phone call and my baby will still be here.

We were never notified of his decline. We took him to the emergency vet and he was diagnosed with phenomena secondary to kennel cough. After a week of treatment he declined and we had to return to emergency where he was admitted for 2 days for IV antibiotics and fluids. Two weeks later, he has finally recovered. Pet Lodge did refund our money for boarding and admitted they had a dog there with kennel cough, but we still have a $3500 vet bill. While we don't blame Pet Lodge for a dog contracting kennel cough (dog flu), the fact that they let him decline so far and did not seek treatment is not acceptable. We will not use this company again.

Alright here goes my crazy…read more I strongly discourage anyone from sending their dog to Ruff House. Based on my recent experience, I do not believe they have their clients' pets' best interests at heart. Yesterday, I took my one-year-old dog to Ruff House for daycare. Unfortunately, I made a mistake and told my husband the wrong pickup time. I mistakenly thought they closed at 7:00 PM because another daycare we use has those hours. Ruff House closes at 6:00 PM. When my husband arrived at 6:15 PM, the facility was completely empty--there were no employees, no vehicles, and no one available to assist us. I spoke with the manager, Ann, the following day about the situation. The conversation began pleasantly but quickly became dismissive and confrontational. Rather than addressing my concerns, she attempted to tell me things about my dog that I know are not accurate. She also openly shifted blame onto individual employees, mentioning them by name and attributing the situation to their mistakes. During our discussion, Ann confirmed that Ruff House does not have an after-hours emergency contact number and has no plans to establish one. This was particularly concerning given that they are responsible for caring for other people's beloved pets. While I fully acknowledge that the initial pickup issue was my mistake, I was surprised that no one attempted to contact me by phone, text, or email to verify whether we were coming. I live only seven minutes from the facility and could have been there immediately. What concerned me even more was learning that boarded dogs are left unattended overnight for approximately 13 hours. According to our conversation, all employees leave at 6:00 PM, and no one returns before 7:00 AM. I understand that facilities may not be staffed 24/7, but 13 consecutive hours without on-site supervision seems excessive. When I worked at a dog daycare in college, staff remained with the animals until 9:00 PM, and morning staff arrived as early as 5:30 AM to care for them. To make matters worse, my dog was fed without my authorization or prior communication. Since returning home, he has experienced vomiting and diarrhea. After this experience, I contacted several other local dog daycare facilities, including Puppy Haven, to ask how they handle situations involving late pickups and overnight care. Their policies place a much stronger emphasis on communication with pet owners and ensuring the safety and well-being of the animals in their care. While everyone makes mistakes--including me--the way this situation was handled left me deeply disappointed and concerned. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Ruff House. **As of today, there is no business by this name with an active business license with the State of Georgia according to the Secretary of State's website. Upon sitting in the office we are explained we were misquoted and there was a vaccine she did not quote. As this changed the price significantly we asked for the original price to be honored. Ms. Shawn was rude and condescending, at no point she acknowledged her mistake but rather made up excuses and tried to make it sound like it was our fault because "there is no way she would know what the dog needed". When I repeated we said it over the phone several times she smiled and said "then I didn't hear you". She proceeded to offer to discount the vaccine but then the first time visit discount would be removed which would in fact increase the bill, another condescending response that did nothing but increase discomfort. We had asked for the quote because the vaccines were needed in a timely manner so had no option but to proceed. Dr. Johnson was very sweet and professional. But this clinic will never see my dog again. Making mistakes is human but bullying your patients to avoid owing to them is very low.

After her stay, she came home visibly distressed and became increasingly lethargic. I rushed her to an emergency vet, where she required immediate care. The owner, Kristen, acknowledged this in writing and offered a $500 reimbursement to help with the vet expenses. Thatincident was over two months ago. I've followed up multiple times, professionally and respectfully, but I've received no response and no payment. While accidents can happen, how a business handles them afterward says everything. Their silence--after admitting responsibility--has forced me to share this publicly. I hope no other pet parent has to go through what we did.

This was our 6th time using daycare for our Australian Shepherd, Zeus, and what we experienced was beyond unacceptable. We trusted this place. We expected outdoor play, clean and sanitary conditions, real supervision, and staff who genuinely care about dogs. Instead, we walked into neglect. From the moment we arrived, the staff was rude, dismissive, and clearly annoyed by basic questions. When we dropped Zeus off and asked for a tour, we were bluntly told no manager was available and no tour could be given. No explanation. No reassurance. Just attitude. When we came back for pickup and asked again, we were told to wait so staff could "check on some things." That alone should have told us something was very wrong. What we saw after that made us angry, sick to our stomachs, and heartbroken. Multiple dogs were locked in kennels with no staff supervising at all. We personally witnessed kennel staff and groomers being unattentive, rude, and disengaged, including employees standing around or sitting on their phones instead of watching the dogs. Kennels were covered in dried urine and feces, and dogs were left sitting in it--no cleaning, no breaks, no compassion. Then we saw Zeus -- locked in a crate in the corner, shaking, crying, and terrified. Seeing our dog like that broke us. It was devastating. He looked scared, confused, and completely abandoned. Watching him tremble and cry in that crate made us feel sick, angry, and deeply depressed. No dog deserves to be treated that way--especially not in a place that claims to provide care. This was not a bad day. This was systemic neglect. We left furious, heartbroken, and ashamed that we trusted this place. We cancelled everything immediately and will never return. This was not daycare. This was dogs being warehoused, ignored, and emotionally broken. They call it It's a Dog Life -- but what we witnessed was cruelty, neglect, and suffering.
