I do not know what happened but they are no longer a place I would recommend. They not only butchered my yorkiepoo's hair and left him with a few scabs, they called me the next day (I believe one of the owners, a male) told me they choose who they do business with and since I am upset about my puppy's cut then I should not bring him there anymore and he hung up. Missy & Larry are the best groomers I've ever had. They are very knowledgeable about grooming and dog health issues. I've gotten some good vet referrals for various things from them and Missy told me about a lipoma that grew in 6 months. I had been watching it for 18 months but it had enlarged noticeably so surgery was scheduled because of the location of the lipoma. I wouldn't take my dog to any other groomer. He got infections from his cut and instead of this place apologizing they TRIED to deceive people! The dog they claimed as "ours" is clearly a poodle! Ours is a Shih Tzu who weighs less than 5 lbs!! I have always taken my dog to this salon to get his grooming needs for almost two years now... and I honestly don't know why I haven't found a better place. Every time we give them direction on how we want our dogs hair cut, they never listen. I asked this past time for our pup to get shaven down completely, including his ears and tail.. and when we pick him up, what's long? His hair on his ears and tail. On top of that, that nipped my pups nails wayyy too short and when we picked him up, his quips looked bloody Not sure if it was a new stylist. Missy began grooming my boys when my prior groomer quit her business and left me in a lurch. But it was all good as my boys have NEVER looked better! I have followed Missy down to Belle Isle (I live in Alpharetta/Milton area) and am so happy she is now in business for herself along with her daughter Sam up in the Alpharetta/Milton/Johns Creek/Forsyth area. Both are EXCELLENT groomers of all breeds and understand what is needed for each specific breed. They just don't use the same product on all dogs either, they know from experience what your dog's coat will need! This place is absolutely fabulous! I decided to try it after reading all the previous great reviews. I could not be more pleased. I have a big Bernese Mountain Dog with tons of fur and he sheds a lot. Not only did they have experience with my dog's breed but, they completely deshedded him and he still smells so good! (It's been 4 days since he was groomed). I was so happy with the job that I took my other dog, a collie mix, also with a lot of fur, the next day and they did another fantastic job with him. I loved how I was able to call and they could get me in and out very efficiently. Pricing was very appropriate and I was happy to pay it because of how well my dogs were treated. The staff is wonderful, you can really tell they know what they are doing and that they love it and love dogs. I also appreciated that you can see everything (grooming area, etc.) and the dogs have big pens to be in and not crates. So lucky to have found this place. I would highly recommend it! read more

The reason they got 1 star was because I couldn't give them a zero. Before we took our dog to Paws N Pearls, he was fluffy and adorable but he had some mats. Sam, the groomer, totally shaved all his hair off. He was unrecognizable. She did not want to take the time and trouble to just remove the mats and blend in the other areas. What was worse was her attitude. When we came to pick our dog up, she kept giggling and laughing at our obvious distress. "Oh he's so happy to be rid of those mats!" was her reaction when he was obviously just excited to see us and get away from her. DOG LOVERS BEWARE!! The owner's daughter severely cut a dog I bred and cut him in MULTIPLE areas including his PENIS! The puppy was taken to the vet and treated. The owner at Paws & Pearls did not apologize, instead she made excuses and didn't accept responsibility for what her daughter did. She knew she could get sued and she DID refund owner and pay for the vet bill. But she was rude asked dog owners not to come back and even worse here on Yelp she TRIED to pass off someone else's pet as one of MY pets. As you can see this is a beautiful SHORKIE 5 pounds. Yet she posted a picture of a 20 pound looking poodle that clearly has a different tail, ear color and coating. Lol If she's going to LIE to people she should at least do a better job! Unbelievable!!! Her character in her multiple posts shows a lack of mental stability. What a nut job!!! PLEASE scroll through ALL pictures and see how she tried to pass my sweet pup as another. She not only cut him in multiple places, she also cut his beautiful eyelashes AFTER being asked not to. Very unprofessional and yet SHE considers herself a 5 star business. Watch out and heads up if you have to cancel your appointment. Call several times or you will basically be called a liar and taken off their list when you show up for next scheduled appointment. I was even told I missed 2 appointments when I showed up today. I'm completely perplexed ! I looked through my voicemail and my deleted voicemail, no voicemail from them. searched my iPhone history of calls and had proof I called them when I said to cancel. I talked to Missy that day about canceling appointment and she said okay, thanks for calling. I also have proof they didn't call me when they said. I believe they must have misdialed my number. They would not listen to me, would not look at my proof and were extremely nasty and like I said I'm perplexed and really hurt. So sad :( because I think they are great groomers and such hard workers. I have been a loyal customer since December 2017. No one should be treated this way, just heads up. read more

I have had dogs for 50 years that I would take to groomers. I took recommendations from folks, and my last dog was a Cocker Spaniel. I could never get a decent cut for him, so I bought the tools and began grooming him myself. I now have a Cavalier, and they are particularly difficult to groom, as hair grows in some places too much, and in other places too little. When Louie was a puppy, I took him to a pet lodge to a groomer, and while she was very good, the place gave me the icks. I have struggled to find groomers, getting referrals, and finally, I did my own research. Paws and Pearls continually had the best reviews. I have been so happy and pleased with these groomers. They are so sweet to my Louie, and he actually pulls to go in. He always needs deshedding, and I often have extra fur taken off, but they always do the best job ever! The salon is so clean, and the last time I picked up my dog, he was sleeping. Perfectly happy to be there. That says a lot to me. They are so sweet to him when he comes in, and even lets him give a kiss! read more

I love this place! I have moved to Cumming 2 years ago and have been bringing my Shih tzu (Sushy) here ever since. OMG they are super nice and they take really good care of him. My shih tzu have very dry skin and around his eyes and ears gets very dirty easy. They clean him out completely! He looks like he is a new dog when he is out! On top of that I take my 2 Pomeranian there and now my sister starting to take hers there too! I love this place and I completely trust my kids with them. They are like friends to me now! Stopped by and chatted with Sam about bringing my 13 year old mutt in. She was really friendly and really understanding about Cameron's (my dog) allergies. Since Cam is older, we don't like to have her staying in a kennel for long periods of time. Sam said she'd call us as soon as the bath was done. Missy has actually been cleaning her and has done an AWESOME job! She is so clean and smells so good and looks super cute with a sassy bandana! Missy cleans Cam in about an hour or so and then we're able to pick her up. Both these ladies are top notch! So happy to have them in the area doing a super job! read more

Not my kind of place. Was quoted a price on the phone but was charged more at pickup. I was never asked if my dog was up to date on shots or rabies. This has always been required every where else I have taken my pets. I will not return. We take our 12 year old Schnauzer here. The staff does a great job and the prices are very comparable to other locations (PetSmart/Petco). They make sure to keep the dogs comfortable which is important for ours due to her age and stiff joints. Other places we've been have kept our dog in the kennel for hours at a time and it was very stressful on our dog. With Paws N Pearls, our Schnauzer seems to actually enjoy going. read more
