So picky with what they will take! My sister and I dropped off a gently used bassinet and a whole bin of clothes and toys, some UNOPENED! They wouldn't take the bassinet because there was a small stain (less than an inch) and they only took one item from the bin. They refused an unused blanket because it wasn't in a bag. I understand they need to have standards but I guarantee, parents in need would be happy to take so many items they reject! read more

I called the store ahead of time to see if they were looking for certain sizes and if they would take a high chair/stroller/pack n play. They said they don't really need any baby clothes sizes less than 24 months (which was the perfect answer, as I had 24 months, 2T and 3T clothes). They said they have to see the larger items in person before determining if they can accept. I got to the store at 1pm and hauled all my stuff in the store, they said estimated wait time for an offer would be 20-25 minutes. An hour later I finally get a text that my offer is ready. They did not accept the highchair because the straps were stained. They told me to clean the jogging stroller (which I did in the store) and then rejected it because the tires were flat (which I did not notice ahead of time, they just needed air). They rejected a perfectly good condition toddler chair because there was one small piece of crusted food that I was able to remove with a pinch of my fingers, and they still declined. Told me to go home and wash the cover. Out of the two large bins of clothes/shoes they only offered me $35 for a few items. I would make more money selling these items on Poshmark and at a garage sale. Complete waste of time. Would respect this business more if they would have told me over the phone they don't take any used items with marks/stains. And most of the clothing I saw them accept were new with tags. I'll stick with selling and buying clothes on Poshmark. read more

When you have a baby who outgrows everything so quickly, this place is a dream come true! All of the clothing is in great condition, as are the toys and accessories. They don't always accept much for buyback when the items are for infants, as they have so much, but it's a great way to make a little extra toward the next purchase when you have no use for product anymore. read more

I found the place to be very organized by sizes and seasonal! I have sold clothing and shoes there also about 3x now and get a solid quote for it all, considering it was all stuff going to be donated anyways. Haven't had the need to buy anything there yet but browsing through some of their stuff it seems reasonably priced (ex kid snow suit for $7.50) read more

It depends on what you're looking for. I came to look for toys for my kiddo and I prefer wood/natural materials over plastic so I was pretty disappointed since it's all plastic. BUT - I was blown away with how many kinds and sizes of clothes they have for reasonable prices. Will definitely be back for that. Once Upon A Child USED to be a great place to go when they were in Pike Creek. Since moving to Prices Corner, the quality of the clothing and the overall cleanliness of the store has suffered. Kids grow....quickly! So I choose to not spend too much on kids clothes. I've got 2 girls and I can't help but want to buy the newest looks and dress them to look their cutest. Once Upon A Child is a retail store that offers new and gently used stuff for kids and maternity clothing. You can bring in your items and they will pay you on the spot for items they think they'll be able to sell again. The first time you try to sell them items they may seem picky to you, they even use a black light to find stains not visible to the eye. Lately I've been buying clothing there for my girls. The majority of the clothes are in great shape, or still have the tags on. You can shop with your kids because they have a little sectioned off area where they play a kids movie and have toys. Most of the time I find it easier to go by myself because their inventory is so packed together that you will need time to go through to find what you are looking for. The other day I bought two pairs of name brand jeans for my daughter, a brand new Razor helmet, a dress, and 3 shirts for $35.00. And when they've outgrown them if they're still in decent shape and not out of fashion, I can sell them back! read more

I've mainly used this store to try to sell items. I find it to be cramped, and the staff weren't the friendliest either. They give really , really low offers for clothes --but when you were going to give the stuff away anyway, oh well. I personally don't enjoy standing flipping through all the clothes on the racks, but if I was more squeezed for money for kids clothes maybe I wouldn't mind. Anyway , 3 stars. Lousy offers on clothes , they should have a policy where they give you more if it's spent in store .. I took 5 brand name that were brand new baby outfits w/ tags that had more then one piece in each outfit, one 2 pc brand new w/ tags Disney sleepers, a brand new w/out tags toddlers adidas t-shirt, a toddlers Nickelodeon long sleeve SpongeBob shirt new w/out tags and a young girls converse hoodie new w/out tags and they only gave me 22$ and some change they said for 10 pieces. I did voice to the cashier how I thought that was ridiculous. After leaving there I received a phone call from them. The young girl which ended up being the same cashier said "I think you walked out with one of our baskets". Now I don't remember her saying "I think" but she might of cause she kept saying hello and I switched from my ear piece to my phone. I told her that it was my basket and it looks different then their baskets. She went on to say that " We will check the cameras to see". Now I have been in that store many of times and had brought my basket in with me on most of them times I have been in there. After hanging up I called them back and told them I was still in the shopping center that I will save them the time of checking their camera and will be right there. I went back in the store and she insisted she said "I think". But why say to me "We will check the cameras" like I was lying. She apologized but denied that she was accusing me of stealing. My basket is smaller then theirs and is a darker red and their baskets are a brighter red. Their baskets has their name on it and mine has no name on it. This is an average second hand store that has went down hill over the years. In 2011 it was my favorite store but now I probably won't return due to this disorganization throughout the store. When I started going here seven years ago, this place was great. It helped me financially is dressing my infant and toddler son and was a great way to make a few extra bucks. Boy, has it gone down hill over the passed three years. I do not go in often (maybe 2-3 times a year) but it is progressively worse each time. The clothes are bad, but yet they will not buy my brand new shoes or jeans my son never wore! Today I went in and it was a disaster. Not one item in my sons size area was his size. When I mentioned something to the clerk she said, "oh its our busy season". O.K., great customer service. All the hoes were labeled wrong and in the toy area; toys were thrown all over the floor. They just do not care anymore and rip people off. I mean, why would I pay $5 for an Arizona T (Walmart Brand) that is used, when I can go to Old Navy and buy a brand new one for the same price? I absolutely LOVE this store! Even though the clothes are mostly used every item I have bought for my daughter has looked brand new. The selection in the store is HUGE and make sure you have a couple hours to spare to be able to look through everything. The prices are also fantastic. I love this place for finding barely used items for my little one. The clothes can be a little expensive compared to a thrift store, but I usually find things are much better quality and brands (and I've spent tons of time digging at through thift stores). The prices, selection, and quality for toys and other gear can't be beat! I got a JJ Cole car seat cover ($30 new) in perfect condition for $10. My best suggestion is to go in knowing what you are looking for, and ask if they have it. This is not a good place for browsing, since it is very cramped. Within the last 2 months, I have frequented "OUAC" to sell items only. As an educator, I was very impressed by the professional of their young staff. They worked quickly & efficiently as they examined my items. Two particular employees went above and beyond their call of duty. Although I am not 100% certain of their names, I think they are Sierra & Ahdel.The young man was multitasking as if he himself was the owner & was proficiently speaking English & Spanish depending upon the customers preference- wow! As for the young lady, her mannerisms & poise reminded me of Aubrey Plaza (as a teen) especially when I would comment on some of my items, & we both laughed. All in all, this store is great but these 2 employees made it more awesome; I truly hope the store owner sees what shining stars they are! read more

Don't waste your time... I came in with a little over $80 dollars worth of brand new little girls' 9 months outfits (with the tags still on) and was told they could only offer me $6.50 for everything!!! I wasn't expecting to get anything close to the $80 they were worth, but $6.50 seemed like a joke knowing they were going to turn around and make close to $50 based off of the prices I saw when I was waiting for them to be appraised. On another down side the store stunk! It was so dirty in there... No ever going to sell anything there again and certainly wont be buying anything for my children there! I was very disappointed in this store! This is the third Once Upon a Child location I've been to and I was not pleased. The main reason for me visiting was to sell my stroller and some various clothing and shoes. The second I walked through the door I was greeted by "We aren't interested in buying any strollers at the moment we already have enough." So initially I thought to try another location but said the heck with it and gave her the bags of clothing and shoes just to see. I'm then told by the woman looking through the clothing that they "aren't really buying anything" but will take a look anyways. They ended up buying about 10 pairs of shoes and two shirts for just over $20. Everything was name brand (Nike, Gap, Primark, Crocs) and in good condition. I accepted the offer since everything was too small for my son and I didn't care much for- but I definitely won't return to this location. I had to move with my three young children and decided to try and sell some of their msny clothes. Being a single mom and trying to live on a fixed income i thought this place could be helpful when it came to selling and buying clothes. The staff was rude and barely looked at what i brought in. Three bins of either gently used or never worn clothes and left with three dollars! I also heard the employees talking behind ny back that i had been there the day before also. I planned on shopping but thr staff was so rude and some of thier prices were so ridiculous i could have bought brand new in another store. I seen a shirt they gave me a quarter for being sold for ten dollars!! Tjey should rethink their aporoach and make the stoee out to what its supposed to be. Very disappointed and wont consider going back no matter how much i have to spend to dress my kids.
