There truly is something for everyone here--I came here with three friends and we all left with something. There are knick knacks/figurines for the house, jewelry, pillows, plushes, a small selection of clothes (coming soon I believe), embroidery pieces, totes, paintings, paper crafts--literally every kind of fiber art you can think of. They are all priced super well too (I'm from NYC so I'm used to the NYC hipster tax). I left with a jewelry box and a "botanical bottle" and I cannot stop obsessing over them. After calling to introduce myself and see if they could help me, A to Z Resale came to my house, looked at the items I was looking to sell, and suggested an estate sale. We discussed this in great detail and they were aware that I would be living and working out of my house until I moved. Despite the fact that this was only the second time they had done an estate sale (something not mentioned until I prompted) I decided to give them a chance and went ahead and signed a contract with them. In our discussions, they told me they needed about 3 weeks to prep for the sale. They wanted me to give them a key to the house that I was living in so that they could 'come and go' to get ready for the sale. I reminded them that I was living/working at the house and did not want people to come and go without notice. This seems like a reasonable request on many levels, not the least of which is safety. On many occasions, I mentioned that I am at the house nearly 100% of the time and they could simply drop me a text to give me a heads up and come over at any time. One week prior to the estate sale date (and subsequent move to my new house), I still had not seen them or seen any work done. I contacted them to ensure everything was on track. It was at that point that they informed me that they were voiding my contract on the grounds that I did not provide a key to my house. What person in their right mind would give a complete stranger a key to their house? Not only did they leave me scrambling at the last minute, but they have been operating under the assumption that I still want to have any sort of contact with them. They put me on their mailing list, send me unsolicited emails on a regular basis and provide no way of removing myself from the list -- which is also illegal. I am all for people trying to start and run a business on their own. But I am not going to endorse people who do not know the law, do not operate in a professional manner, and do not respect people enough to simply do the right thing. Considering the plethora of options available in this space, I highly recommend staying away from this business.

The pantry directly serves individuals on a daily basis by providing food that is donated by a variety of community partnerships. Individuals and families can receive food commodities by visiting the Help Center, Monday-Friday between the hours of 9am-12pm and 1-3:30pm. Individuals and families may be eligible for emergency food designed to provide meals for 3-5 days through a referral made by the Department of Social Services. To receive a referral from the Department of Social Services, individuals should contact the Homeless Outreach and Services Intake Center at 443-986-3548. The Cecil County Help Center also serves as a hub for other food pantries and faith-based organizations that have the mission of meeting the needs of those facing food insecurity. The Help Center receives food from a variety of partners including the Maryland Food Bank. This food is then distributed to local pantries in various parts of the County to ensure that citizens have convenient access when a need arises.
