Extremely overpriced for used clothing... better off going to a store and just buying new at that rate. ‍

But Cory and Rachel completely changed that for us. From the moment we walked in, they were so welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful without being pushy at all. They took the time to understand what we were looking for, walked us through different options, and answered every single question we had (and we had a lot!). Their expertise really stood out, and it made us feel confident in our decisions. By the end of it, it honestly didn't make sense not to make the purchase because of how thorough and helpful they were. We ended up choosing a Nuna, and we absolutely love it--we can't wait to start using it once our baby arrives! The complimentary installation was also such a huge bonus and made the whole experience feel even more seamless and stress-free. Highly, highly recommend Twinkle Twinkle--especially Cory and Rachel. They made what could have been an overwhelming process feel easy and exciting!

As a loyal customer for approximately twenty-eight years, I have frequented your store, at its previous locations near Foster and Milwaukee Avenue, at Foster and Harlem Avenue and at the current site, to purchase clothing and toys for my adopted children, who are blind, and for my blind students at a local Chicago Public Schools (CPS) institution. My visit today was for a different, equally meaningful purpose. Our parish has been supporting a homeless family in the Jefferson Park Neighborhood who recently secured an apartment. I purchased several items for their young children, including a potty chair, a doll, a 3-D mailbox with letters, and a large dump truck. Upon completing my purchase, I requested a bag for the dump truck. I explained that I am legally blind, carry a white cane for orientation and mobility, and needed to manage my pull cart with one hand while navigating with my cane. The truck, being bulky, would have made my journey home via public transportation considerably challenging. I was informed that "Once Upon a Child" is a "No Bag" store and that the only option was to purchase a large bag for $3.99. Given my considerable expenditure, I declined to purchase an additional bag. My subsequent request for a discarded or used bag was denied by four employees, none of whom appeared to consider my safety or ability to transport the items home. The young man at the register even suggested I could return my purchases or inquire about a bag at "Plato's Closet" next door. I had invested considerable time selecting these items with the aid of a magnifying glass and was determined for the children to receive them. This experience was deeply disheartening. It is troubling to witness how a business, in its pursuit of profit, can seemingly disregard the well-being and dignity of its customers. While I understand that profitability is essential for any enterprise, an exclusive focus on the bottom line at the expense of human empathy fosters an unwelcoming environment. True success, I believe, stems from cultivating a culture where customers feel valued, respected, and heard, which ultimately builds loyalty and a thriving community benefiting all stakeholders, including the business itself. Please be advised that I will no longer patronize "Once Upon a Child." Furthermore, I intend to share my experience with my colleagues at CPS, encouraging them to reconsider their patronage of your chain. A copy of this letter was sent to your corporate headquarters in MN, and the Harwood Heights Norridge Chamber of Commerce.

There's a carousel outside the store on the sidewalk, which I think is kind of an adorable touch! The employees didn't notice at first that I had even come in... they greeted me when I wandered into the other room. The shop is large and clean and carries mostly baby clothes but has a few other items. They have a larger gender-neutral selection than another store I was at but still somewhat surprised by how heavily stores/manufacturers are still leaning into pink and blues for kids, or gendered cuts (ruffles, bows, etc.). I did see a few gender-neutral sorts of items but either had the item already or decided against it. I would probably not make a special trip to Highland Park to shop here, but that's not really a knock on this store because I don't know of any store that I'd head out to the suburbs for. Parking can be tricky because this is essentially downtown Highland Park, and you'll really only find street parking. However, the Metra station is only a couple blocks away. If you're looking for baby clothes you'll certainly find something here because they definitely have plenty of cute things.

Lisa guided us through the options to select the material and lettering for the personalized gift. She then coordinated the order and delivery which was being shipped out of state. Would highly recommend stopping in to Sprout Kids when you are looking for children's gifts. Plenty of clothes and accessories to choose from.

This store used to be a church and you can still see where the altar was and the beautiful stain glass window is still up. I love that this gives the shop a very unique layout and look to it!! Not to mention the stained glass is beautiful! They have a lot of candles, cooking supplies, dishes, skincare, and even a toy area. It truly is a little bit of everything! I love coming here for Chicago themed products as well as Irish heritage items! This place is clearly very proud of the city! This place also has a lip balm that I always get called Bitchstix. It is a bit overpriced because all proceeds go to supporting victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. So thankful that this store proudly supports this great cause!! This place is pricey, though. However, the products are of very good quality so I think there is good reason for the pricing! They have very nice, and awesome quality, lotions and other products! I also like that they change up their stock fairly often so I always find new things every time I go! The staff is always friendly and helpful! One of my favorite small businesses in the area!

This place seemed like the largest of the businesses in Church 103--once a Lutheran church, now a variety of local businesses. The name is a nod to place--Haven for the sanctuary, and 1890 for the incorporation of Beverly Hills (Beverly's formal name). Their space is gorgeous, with the centerpiece being the glass window on the south wall. They have some lovely things here, and a great variety. I came in near St. Patrick's Day and since it's on the Southside you'd think a Leprechaun threw up in here! Lots of fun seasonal items, but also everyday art, Chicago-themed gear, stationery items, baby toys/clothes/things, household items, and a lot more. Service was friendly. I believe there's parking in the lot, but I also easily found parking on 103rd.
