This review is for the Clinique counter within Macy's. I don't have an opinion on Macy's itself, except they're slightly overpriced which is why I don't shop there which is why I don't have an opinion. Although... my review is also about their manager Sarah so maybe it does apply. #shrug Anyhow... this Clinique counter will not except any returns or exchanges unless you can prove you purchased said items at that Macy's. I suppose I can understand that, however, I did leave and call a few places to see what their policies are and, well, Macy's is the only place with this policy. I called Ulta and Carson's and both places said they would take the product back and would just give me a credit for the lowest they've ever had the products priced. You can call yourself. They'll tell you the same cuz that is exactly what they told me. Unfortunately, I did not do this because up until NOW Macy's was the only place I've purchased Clinique and it would be dishonest to expect others to take care of my exchange. Yes. I said exchange. I didn't even want my money back. I wanted to make an exchange and Sarah (the manager) couldn't do it. (Side Note: ALL Clinique products I've ever tried are ah-mazing. Amazing. For real. Its all I use for skin care. But these two products just didn't do what was promised. And I won't name them cuz they might work great for you. They just didn't for me.) Small rant coming... WHY do stores have managers if they don't have any more authority than the people behind the counter? Why? Okay. In all fairness I'm sure they have a few bits more responsibility than the average employee but c'mon, help a sista out! ^_~ Anyhow, I'm not saying I'll never purchase Clinique here ever again. Cuz. The store was ok but the womens fitting room were disgusting. They were filthy and smelled like urine this is the Merrillville In store.

This Macy's location has definitely gone downhill. Hardly any Christmas selection, only 2 types of Frango this year, nothing I bought rang up correctly at the % off it should have, and the Ralph Lauren pajamas I just bought (yes, Ralph Lauren) tore the second day I had them. Literally from putting the button in the proper hole for the button down pj set. And it's not like they were too tight or anything. The bathrooms were absolutely deplorable, and whoever is supposed to be cleaning them should be ashamed. read more

This particular Macy's reminds me more of a Ross then the Macy's I've been to. In the men's department they had very little high end brands. Than to make that department even worse is how cluttered everything was. By the registers they sell snack food and soda pop. They also use plastic bags like a Ross or a Marshalls uses. I hadn't been to this particular Macy's in probably 7 or 8 years and back then it was a really nice store. read more

Shop online and avoid this place. Really gone downhill. Tried to make a purchase and there were no employees in the men's to make a sale. So I walked over to the woman's and no registers open there either. The cosmetics counters are in between the two. So I stop there and asked if the employee could ring me up, she said she only sells fragrances lol. Can you believe that? She told me to go to customer service on the other side. I walked over and there was 10 people in line. I'm done with this place. I put the clothes down and walked out. read more

l was in your store on 10/26/23 in the men's dept mrs cherly helped me again she is outstanding with her customer service and brought my son's things there also mrs Cristina Lancôme dept helped me with all my needs in clinque and Lancome always both associates with a smile on there face and excellent customer service these ladies should be rewarded for all the extras they do for customers. l hope that the manager of this store posts this so others can see it and take some lessons. read more

This Macy's was in the middle of an overhaul when we were there. They are turning it into a Macy's Outlet. So, currently the place is kind of a mess and much of the stock is gone. But you can still shop here. In fact they were giving away $5 gift cards for every $50 spent along with some pretty good sales. I bought some swimwear and summer cover ups for a good deal and got the gift card. read more

The bedding dept. Has what I was looking for. The purple mattress & purple hybrid mattress. Sales person " Debbie " was very helpful , really knew her business. I'm looking good right now as I'm typing this because of Macy's MAC lipstick collection. My sister wears makeup and she let me have one of her free tubes of lipstick called creme D'Nude. Go get this neutral color asap! The cashiers were glamourous as heck with not a strand of hair out of place and they had on makeup that made them look very pretty! So happy that this store had exactly what I was looking for today! I usually go to the macys in orland but I will defintly be coming to this location more often. I have never been treated so rudely at a retail store. My wife and I went in to look for a dress and all we got was the run around from the sales associates! When we couldn't find a dress we were told to take a picture of it so they would not have to mov their lazy butts. We were told to take a dress off the mannequin ourselves because they were to lazy to do it themselves. When a sales lady came over and asked what we were doing we asked if she would like to take it off for us. She said that we were doing fine on our own. Worst customer service experience EVER!!! read more

This store is o.k. They have a lot of name brands that I like. The only thing is that unless they are on sale or clearance. They are way to expensive. Gone are the days when people bought stuff without looking at the price tag. The associates were very helpful. They just need to stop packing the store full of junk for the holiday's. read more

I love high end makeup so I had gift cards to use. Went here to spread some good year cheer at MAC & Clique counters. Some items you do need to see before purchase this was the day to do just that. BTW the lighting in the cosmetic area is very bad on the dark side. WELL 2 associates handling 4 makeup counters need to have a number roll. I guess after the holidays Macy's does need that many workers to help customers spend gift cards. But they were nice about but waiting to spend money is a let down. read more

The Cosmetic departments are very short handed at this MACY'S location. I was literally waiting 25 minutes for someone to help me. When I went to the LANCOME counter to ask if someone was working at the CLINIQUE counter, she said "there are 2 ladies working at that counter". Yea right! Then another lady came to the same CLINIQUE counter and a few minutes later was able to find someone from another cosmetics depto help her. I complained to the sales lady and told her I had been standing there for over 20 minutes and that I was leaving. And also said "BTW I was here before she got here but you didn't bother to ask who was there first"! By the looks of it, it appears that all of the cosmetic counters at this MACY'S store is in desperate need of Sales Associates. I am visiting from out of town and this is by far the worse service from amy MACY'S store I've ever visited. And I have visited several. read more

An excellent men's collection here! Almost better than the men's collection at Macy's Castleton. I got an awesome Calvin Klein design (that was a knock off of an exclusive maker's $1000 coat - imagine that, CK a knockoff!) that was a bargain at $149 considering the quality of the coat (not a sale price.) In addition, I got twenty percent off with the Macy's card (which I promptly paid off.) However, as superior as their collections of goods was, the rookie service was severly unprepared and understaffed. They missed the sensor tag on the coat (which another sharp associate caught) and they neglected to resupply themselves with garment/coat bags. [Switch to Valley Girl accent] Um, hello? You are in the men's section across from the coats! No excuses please. It's not like this is the Mac counter where you only need little bags. [/accent] Knock off one star for that. Otherwise, this store is solid. read more

This Macy's location gives me the blues. I always have to hunt someone down if I have questions or need to check out. My guess is that they are short on staff. I am ALWAYS overlooked at the perfume, skin care, and jewelry counters. I wonder what all of that is about? After you do drop $75-$125 on perfume and skin care, they do not voluntarily give you samples to try, I always have to ask, "got samples?". Their response is either "No", or they seemingly have to forgotten to put some in my bag. I know you have samples, aren't they supposed to be for the customers? Something to try so it keeps the consumer to return and buy more? The shoe department is disastrous. My size is never available. I know Macy's are closing many of their stores, I kind of wish that this location was going down. I suggest that you take your money to Chicago's State Street location and get better customer service and selections from there. read more

I have nothing good to say about this Macys location as I have personally experienced very bad customer service from its management. Supervisor Michelle has a terrible attitude and the store general manager is just as bad and does not listens to customer without over talking and belittling them. read more
