There is so much merchandise available for purchase. I was shopping for my granddaughter. I have visited this location before the holidays in 2022. On this visit, I saw the prices were much higher than previously. I purchased a few outfits, whereas on my last visit, I purchased a big bag full! Perhaps they were having a sale. Me and my GF tried to do a drop off to get a quote. We handed over the three items one of which was more expensive. Never got a call or text. Then we went back. We finally got our quote strangely the two cheaper items we got a quote on the most expensive item (a bridal dress) was not there anymore. It was "given to charity." I have sold here a few times. I totally understand how it works when selling used clothes. I've worked at a similar establishment that operates the same way. My overall rating is because of the lack of friendliness and welcoming of the staff as well as the selling process. They are very short with you, don't greet you when you walk in, or even have the decency to direct you where to go when you're trying to sell. They don't give you an estimated wait time, they just say "we'll text you when it's done" and then the sales associate turns around and walks away. I would've expected a more friendly staff and a smoother selling process. Also, don't expect to get much for your like new/used items. Disappointed. read more

I knew that did not accepts items to purchase after 7 PM. I arrived at 6:57 PM. They looked at me and smiled and said - we will be right with you. They checked out a final customer and then went into the back and then the woman came over and said - I can't take you tonight because I stop accepting items to buy at 7pm. It was 7:05 PM. 1- I arrived before 7pm. 2- Why did you greet me, with my bins, and say you'd be right with me but then ignore me and come back at 7:05 to say it was too late? I will never be back. Very very disappointed. I dropped clothes & toys off and they informed me that they would text/call me when the merchandise had been sorted so that I could receive my credit. No one ever called or texted!!! I have tried to call them multiple times and their phone now seems to be out of order. I live 20-30 minutes from the store so very inconvenient to keep driving back and forth to get some kind of communication or to reclaim my items. The customer service is just awful. I was in a time crunch and needed a red and black funeral attire for my 3 and 4 year old and once upon a child delivered. They had a good selection of clothes for boys especially 3 and younger. And as always girls had a lot more clothes but that's no help to me as I have 2 sons. I found some nice button ups and pants for my sons and a couple of shirts were on clearance so they were half off so that made me even happier! I was so disappointed with this location . I drove 30 mins to get here and once I arrived I was told I couldnt bring clothes in a trash bag, okay cool no problem. So after buying a tote I was told my clothes would be ready in 2-3 hours. I didn't receive a text they were done until 4 hours later. Also they don't organize the shoes there. This shop is a great resource for all families. They have great deals and a lot of toys in excellent condition, as well as clothes. I bought most of my little one's pajamas at this store. PJs are something that can be so expensive new, the footie ones run about $3-4 here. As other reviewers stated, the clothes are organized by colors for some ungodly reason, so it will take some time to find the size you need. As others have mentioned, the customer service is not top notch here. Employees are often having inappropriate personal conversions on the sales floor. They haven't necessarily been rude to me, but not friendly or extremely helpful. One day I purchased a pair of shoes for my son at the store. When I purchased them, the elastic was broken, I returned them without a problem. The next time I went in I spotted the broken shoes back in the shoe bucket. So, that's what kind of service professionals you're dealing with here. One final piece of advice, check the Amazon price on toys before you leave the store. This store isn't going to win any beauty pageants and certainly not Miss Congeniality, but it has a great selection of low to middle end brands of baby clothing and toys. This works for me since my Yelp Baby grows out of his clothes every two weeks. I'm not looking for the finest Egyptian cotton to catch whatever mystery liquid escapes him on a given day. $1 Onesies and $5 sleepers? Good for me! Picked up some great bouncers and activity centers for 60% off retail. Works great, just make sure to take those suckers apart and bleach the hell out of it before letting your little angel lick every nook and cranny. It is important to note that this will not be a quick stop. The organization for a lot of the items makes my brain hurt. The onesie wall is sorted by COLOR. Insanity. I've never tried to sell clothes here, so I can't comment on that. I hear they don't give very much money for your items, but that's to be expected, right? They are trying to make a profit. I have shopped here a few times, but I stopped going after I realized how long it took me to find anything I liked. I went when I was pregnant, and back then I didn't mind wasting time as much. But now that I have a baby, I'm all about getting in and out as quickly as possible. The store seems to carry a lot of the cheaper brands (Carters, Child's Place, etc), so it can be harder for me to find things that fit my style. I don't like a lot of graphics or silly slogans all over the clothes. There is a section of $1 onesies that I like (who can complain about $1 onesies?), but they aren't arranged by size, so it's hard to find ones that fit. The same goes for the pajama section. That section is also not arranged by size, just color, so you'll be browsing through every single pajama checking the tags to see what size they are. It's time consuming! I prefer to shop online for baby clothes. I get emails when my favorite stores have sales, so I wait to buy clothes then. I end up paying a couple dollars more per item than I would at this store, but it's worth it to me to save time and energy. Plus, I get brand new clothes! read more

Today was only my second visit to this location. My family just moved to Charlotte in June and frequented the location where we used to live. First visit was great, very friendly staff and welcoming when I mentioned we were new to Charlotte. I was happy to know I would have a great place to bring my 5 yr olds toys and clothes. Today was a different story!! I realize it is a Saturday (weekends are usually busy) but there appeared to be lots of staff on hand, but not much business taking place. Been here a few times and have found some good deals. However, every time I go the staff is incredibly unprofessional. Their first goal is definitely not customer service. Have consigned twice with them, and the second time when I returned to pick up the remainder of my clothes, I found they had given them to someone else. Being someone who has a little toddler sister and a mother who loves buying new clothes for her I was super excited when I learned about stores like Once Upon A Child or KidtoKid; who take gently used baby clothes and give you cash! From the beginning my mother told me not to expect a lot of money from these stores. That I'd be lucky if I made 20 dollars even with a bag full of nice clothes. So on my first trip to KidtoKid on Park Road I didn't expect much. I was aiming for maybe $15 dollars. I brought a shopping bag worth of stuff that I had washed, dried and even ironed the night before. But on my first trip to KidtoKid I made $22 dollars! I was so excited I decided to keep doing this every couple of months when my sister would grow out of her clothes. My next trip to KidtoKid I made $20 dollars. And on my third trip I made $15. A couple of months later I decided to give Once Upon A Child a try. I had read on other websites that they are horrible and have rude employees and don't give you crap for your clothes. But like I said before I don't have very high expectations when I try to sell my used baby clothes or baby equipment. So I decided to make a trip to Once Upon A Child one afternoon with huge bag worth of baby clothes. I arrived at Once Upon A Child at around 12:00PM. I immediately noticed that the store is dark and dated. When I finally got the attention of one of the ladies in the front they told me how it works and everything and said my clothes would be reviewed and done by 1:30PM. I've never had to wait longer than 45 minutes at KidtoKid, but I decided to waste time at Carolina Place Mall. I got back to Once Upon A Child around 1:45PM to figure out that my clothes still hadn't even been reviewed yet. They weren't even in the process of reviewing my clothes. So I ended up walking around the store for another 45 minutes! That didn't even bother me to much until I got to the front and the lady told me they only took one of my items. That the clothes were adorable but they were a tad bit wrinkled so to throw them in the dryer again and then bring them back. She literally had the nerve of taking one of my clothing items and gave me $2.15! Like I said before I never have high expectations when I try to sell these clothes but two dollars and fifteen cents is INSULTING. There should be a minimum amount that they give you of at least $5.00. So I could of at least walked out of that freakin' store with enough to buy a frappuccino. It was an awful experience. The ladies weren't rude but they weren't that friendly either. And that I had to wait that long amount of time weren't friendly either. And to literally take one of my clothing items and give me two dollars was terrible. I wasted my gas and my time. I'm going to keep giving my business to KidtoKid on Park Road. The girls that work there are usually friendly. The store is pretty and has WAY WAY better clothes then Once Upon A Child. And I've never had to wait longer than 45 minutes. Nothing overly nice, about the same as a yard sale, but pricier. They only give you a third of what they plan to sell it for. So don't plan on making any money selling to them. Staff is rude & snotty with "comments". While my sister has had very good luck with the store in her state, the Pineville and Matthews locations, I would not go into again. Especially Pineville. They have always have an excuse why they can't "accept" something. I swear I think they read off a list under the counter. Why are they in business? I drove 40 minutes to this location and the manager Kimberly had a horrible attitude. Young African American girl with glasses and short hair. I asked to donate my items and she says NOPE.... they aren't in a bin or bag PLUS we stopped buying at 3:30. All I wanted to do was get money for gas, because I have to work. The workers were kinda okay, but if they see the person in charge be unprofessional and nonchalant why should they? This store deserves a ZERO star. I am appalled by the complete lack of customer service from this place. Every time I am in here, the employees are rude and inconsiderate. Today they lost me as a customer because of their inability to even acknowledge my presence. This was not a busy time; there were 3 other customers in the store, non of which were at the counter, and it was several minutes before I even received a grumbled hello. My daughter was looking at an item that had a price tag -not a sold sign, nor a number indicating that it belonged to a customer," and was waiting to be tagged. She was examining the item, not being rough with it in any respect. An employee walked past her and took it out of her hand. I was shocked by this action and am trying to figure out how to notify the owner. God knows the manager wouldn't be any help based on how the store is run. This place is awesome. I went in with a bag of baby clothes my daughter had outgrown and some shoes given to me by a friend that she couldn't fit yet. I didn't really like the shoes, so I decided to sell them. Anyway, I was expecting around $15 after reading reviews online. Good thing I went in for myself instead of following the reviews. I was paid $55!!!! I couldn't believe they paid me that much. I was even more excited knowing how many new clothes I could buy my daughter for $55 as I am a bargain shopper. Decent selection, but the selling process is so so slow. No busy parents have time to wait hours to sell a few items. The staff are not good at giving a reasonable time estimate. The store is messy and the staff are not very professional. It kind of doesn't end up being worth it if you want to sell items. After visiting Once upon a child 2 years ago and having horrible service I decided to give it another try. I had some great stuff to sell and needed winter things for my children. I walked in 5 girls stood behind the counter not one offered to help. When I finally spoke the girl that came to help let me know she didn't want to. I nearly had to beg for a pen. She told me it would be 30 minutes. I shopped around literally bumping into the workers who were chatting all over the store. The same girl asked me more than 10 times in the almost 2 hrs I waited if I wanted to checkout. I explained 3 times I was still waiting and several people had came after me and now left. The girl resonded they were really busy. Ummm...you are talking and one out of 5 is going through the buy bins and she stops to talk to everyone of the other workers every 2 minutes. They were SLOW and rude and constantly wispered and gave nasty looks. When they paid for my stuff the girl pretty much threw my money down. I laid everything I was going to buy down. I've been here quite a few times and never had a problem here, though I don't go for the customer service- it's not Nordstrom's. I will agree they don't offer much for clothing and other various items you might be selling them but then again they need to sell it as well. Heck, I bought a like new Bumbo seat for $10 and a play bouncer for $35. Go ahead and spend $40 for your Bumbo and $180 for your play bouncer....seriously. The older kids clothes- like 3 and up- aren't terribly great but I've found a few things, especially shoes, at good prices. And I've been to that shop in the park road shopping center- can you say full price? No, my child doesn't wear Ralph Lauren- so if you want that go pay full price somewhere else. They have good finds, but just like the Goodwill, you're not going to find the same thing each time. Oh, I'd also like to ad I bought a like new pack n play there for $30. I've visited this store several times(4-5), but this last visit was just that...my last! The assistant manager (Natasha or Tasha) has a terrible attitude! A trainee, who was helping me, asked for her assistance on the register and her attitude obviously displayed that she did not want to be bothered. She acts like a bully! Who hired her? She came over, no eye contact whatsoever, only to say that I'd have to wait because she was busy, never looking at me remind you. I was appalled and asked for the manager (i believe her name was Wendy) who appeared 15 minutes later. She apologized, keep in mind that she was ironically, handling complaints over the phone. She confirmed that they were understaffed and again apologized. i felt sorry for her, but that was no excuse for the behavior of her assistant. As I stood there for fifteen minutes waiting prior, I witnessed her terrible attitude towards other customers. One lady who apparently had dropped off clothing in the a.m., returned several hours later to find that her settlement was not ready and Natasha of course offered no apologies to a customer that was definitely disappointed with what she was originally told. In this day and time when so many people are in need of work, good customer service is crucial. This store could be the next best thing to a great yard sale, but with terrible customer service such as this employe, I'd rather go to the retail stores and pay full price! read more

Probably one of the grossest stores I've ever been in. It's extremely messy, just junk flung everywhere. Floors where awful, as if it hadn't been swept, let alone mopped in weeks. I don't know how they could possibly keep your items together when you sell to them, there's not an inch of free space on the counters to sort anything. I can't find a single good piece of clothing on any rack, only worn out, from the 90's carters pieces, yet they wouldn't buy my last season baby gap and Janie and jack? So confused. My daughter needed to use the restroom while we were there and they were out of toilet paper. The bathroom was about as clean as a port-a-potty. So to replace the toilet paper, they took a giant roll of the commercial paper towels and set it on the floor! The disgusting floor. No way I'm having my child use that to wipe with. And the paper towels were out of the dispenser, so you can't dry your hands. They also wouldn't buy my petunia pickle bottom diaper bags, I had 3. In EUC. The employees don't acknowledge you, even when standing directly at the checkout counter. They were on their phones most of the time. While checking out with the one item I could find, they did not actually talk with me, until I needed to do something, which then they say "insert chip. Hold on, I didn't say to yet. Now go." they were talking with each other about family problems. I'm so confused by how this store works and makes it. Probably one of the worst run stores I've come by. Oh, they did offer to buy my stork Sak diaper bag along with a few clothing pieces, but I asked them to remove it since the price to purchase everything was so low. They removed it and it took off .40 cents! For an over $100 diaper bag. I feel like they sham you. Especially when I see how high they price some things.
