I had the pleasure of working with On the Vine Catering for our Employee Appreciation Event in February 2026, where we celebrated employees reaching 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and even 30 years of service. It was such a meaningful milestone event, and their team helped make it truly special. Jessica, the Executive Sales Manager, was fantastic from start to finish -- communicative, accommodating, and incredibly supportive throughout the planning process. She also reassured me that all the food was gluten free (except the rolls) and had vegan/vegetarian options available. On the day of the event, Vicky, Maria, Olivia, Jordyn, Corey, Nitish, Ellie, and Nick were absolutely exceptional. Everything was handled seamlessly and professionally. Their calm, steady presence made such a difference. They checked in at just the right times (never intrusive and always helpful), and anticipated needs before we even had to ask. Torrey is such a pleasure to work with. She was kind and helpful, and the whole process was so so easy. Wedding food is typically expected to be "ok", nothing special, but we were pleasantly surprised by On the Vine. They were the required vendor at Nella Terra Cellars and we can see why! We had 3 passed h'orderves included and a buffet dinner (2 proteins, grain, bread/butter, and 3 sides) all included. There were many options to choose from and they accommodate for vegetarian and children options. All were top notch and very flavorful; even our families who are typically picky eaters thought the food was very tasty and the portions were substantial. We mainly worked with Torrey and she provides you with ample information to help you with planning. She also gives you heads up on upcoming action items which helps keeps things on your radar. OTV makes sure you are aware of the process regarding rental items and menu tastings. We received wonderful feedback from our guests regarding the food AND service. I didn't hear of any issues from our family and friends. I was personally grateful for whoever brought me some hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour (while I was standing there getting my dress bustled!). Delicious and great communicators! We hired on the wine to cater our "welcome dinner" the night before the wedding. We hosted 110 people in our house and backyard, which is not that big of space. On the Vine did a terrific job and the space was never an issue. My guests were raving about the food. On the Vine was the caterer we used for our wedding at Nella Terra Cellars as they have an exclusive partnership with the venue. We worked with Jill on the coordination and found her to be incredibly efficient and appreciate how quickly she responded to inquiries. There were many changes/updates that occurred during the wedding planning process but she juggled all of the updates professionally with a very high degree of accuracy (for the few times there were small mistakes, she owned up and quickly corrected them which I appreciated). We had a significant number of guests with food restrictions that needed to have adjusted meals - to our knowledge all of it was correctly delivered by the catering staff on our wedding day which was deeply appreciated. Another great thing about working with On the Vine is they have a partnership with Pleasanton Rentals and you don't have to handle the communication between the catering staff and rentals (ex: plating, linens etc) They function pretty seamlessly as if they were a single unit - ex: you go to Pleasanton Rentals and pick out your plating options and that will be communicated to On the Vine in the total bill. I think their costs to be very reasonable and they offered a few different tiers of both plated and buffet options which was really nice. The few things I'd improve/advise future couples on: Tasting selection - if you can attend an On the Vine event and get a larger sampling of their offerings I think it would be beneficial. The tasting we did allowed us to try a few different options but there is actually a lot more selection than what we were able to try in that one sitting and we would have loved to have smaller portions and try more before making a decision. The challenge is they have several different tiers and ideally you'd want to compare the different tiers vs. the cost trade-offs but that simply isn't possible being only able to try 3 entrees at the tasting. We ended up picking an entree for our final menu we never tasted: wine braised beef - which was kind of scary.... but luckily it turned out great, very tender and guests loved it. Beside manner - I think while Jill is incredibly efficient and competent, I did feel a little uneasy at times at in-person meetings as she can seem impatient/sharp if couples don't have everything together/all the answers. It may be a different personality mesh thing but just something to be aware of as more constructive feedback for handling couples as it is already a pretty stressful time for most people. All and all we had a very good experience with On the Vine and think they did a great job at our wedding. read more

i had high expectations for On the Vine. They were the more expensive option, and I expected them to provide excellent service and food. The passed hors d'ouevres were very good, the servers did their jobs well, and the presentation of the food was also very good. However, we picked On the Vine primarily because they offered a "charcuterie cone," filled with charcuterie and other misc items; we fell in love with the idea after seeing an example picture of the cone. We planned to place these at each table setting at the start of our event. The cones we were served did not look like the example in a picture that was sent to me (fewer items, less variety), nor were they presented on the table as we had agreed upon during our planning conversations. Instead, they were place in the table in a large display/holder that, although attractive, took up much more space than we had available on each table. I had even reminded the lead caterer when they arrived that the cones should be set at each place setting. After my event, I was contacted once with a request for final payment. No one has reached out to me or followed up with me to ask how things went. I might have written a different review had the vendor shown interest in my/our experience. From the cheese and fruit tray, to the passed hors d'oeuvres, to the SEAFOOD STATION, to the prime rib dinner... everything was delicious! We used On the Vine to cater our wedding at Rios Lovell at the end of April. This is one of Rios' preferred caterers (meaning no extra fees for using them.). We chose them over the other caterer for two reasons - one we thought their entrees tasted better, and second their way ofputting costs together and putting together a meal just made more sense for our circumstances. Jill was a pleasure to work with. She was helpful, funny, pragmatic, insightful. She handled a lot of details for me exactly the way I wanted them. The food was amazing. It tasted like the taste test we did. Set up and take down were easy. The day of the event it was fine. She worked well with the other vendors so that everything flowed easily. I would highly recommend Jill and On the Vine for a wedding, or other event. We are also members at Stonyridge and Crooked Vine wineries, and On the Vine does the catering for their quarterly tasting events. They do a fabulous job for them too. They did a pairing of food and tasting one quarter that was spot on. They did a Hawaiian theme this time which I thought was difficult because it was a Hawaiian theme, it was a hot day, but the winery decided to do Pinot Noir, Cabernet and Zinfandel - not a single one of which I would serve at a Hawaiian party on a hot dry day.... but On the Vine pulled it together with their food.
