I contacted On the Ball Moving to clear out our long-neglected storage unit after 20 years in the military and another 20 years on the road. Richard was a Godsend and made the whole process easy. He even came out to the unit a day early on his own time to verify that the items would fit into the container. His packing was superb, and everything made it all the way to Hollywood FL in great condition. I arranged for Richard Ball & one other man to unload a PODS unit into an upstairs condo in Albuquerque that arrived from Texas on November 19, 2019. I had unloaded some of the items myself before they arrived simply because I wanted to get done as quickly as possible. They did a really good job, though they did take a couple of smoke breaks along the way. I didn't care too much about that because they were doing a good job of being careful not to damage my goods. Richard was always reminding his helper about not hitting the walls. I think they might have hit one wall the entire time. All in all, Richard & his helper did a fine job. I paid cash and they were done before lunch. I was very happy to find out that they had put my bed together, too. I will use them again, if need be. read more

This year I had to get some things from Texas moved to New Mexico. I used a the U-Haul Company's U-Box containers and they contract with local movers to assist in getting to the correct spot in the USA. I got lucky! On The Ball Moving "Stress less Moving" owned by Richard Ball was awesome! He brought my U-Box right to my garage door and even helped my empty it :) and didn't even expect a tip - I gave him one anyway. He and his wife were so kind and gracious and I highly recommend them. On the Ball Moving has saved my sanity 3 times. They unloaded my UHaul after driving from CA to ABQ, NM. Richard has helped me twice himself and sent another great two guys when he wasn't available. Most of my moves have involved a LOT of boxes - an entire 2 car garage full and an entire 3 bedroom house. Crews were on time and CAREFUL with my belongings. Richard is a good "foreman", considerate of both his helpers, his and my safety. What I have appreciated most is help moving my many boxes and furniture around several times as I slowly decided where to put everything once it was unpacked. Although there is a 2 hour, very reasonable rate minimum, I give Richard, the crew of 2 he sent when he wasn't available and any helper he brings with him high marks for promptness, courtesy, safety and muscle! No job seems to be too big or too small and he and his wife, Molly, worked hard to accommodate my schedule. I will keep calling them. read more

We used On The Ball Moving three different times. The first two times were great but Richard was also there the first two times. The last time we used them, Richard was busy and sent his guys to do the job. The guys showed up at our house and as they were loading, we became uncomfortable with the way things were being loaded and the attitude of the guys. I called Richard and he called the guys and told them to stop until he got there. Richard came by the house and explained how they were going to load the truck. He also assured us that he had trained the guys and trusted them 100%. He continued to tell us the guys had recently loaded a truck that went to Florida and nothing was broken. He told us that nothing would be broken as long as I went and got more pads. He said if anything was, his insurance would cover it. He met me at uhaul to get additional pads then asked me to grab the guys some food on the way back. The food was more than what he gave me but what do you do? The guys attitude improved and things were going pretty good until towards the end. Towards the end, the guys were tired and tired of loading which I totally get. It took them two hours to load 3 beds, a trampoline that was broken down and a few misc boxes at the end. I think they were milking the clock for more money. It should not have taken that long. By the end, the guys were throwing the stuff into the truck. We had to leave many things behind that we wanted to take with us and there would have been room to load if done correctly. I rented a upack trailer and they used the whole thing. We were so frustrated towards the end though that we were ready to be done with it. So we arrive in GA and open the truck to find several boxes crushed, entertainment center broken in half because two many boxers were loaded on top of it, damaged to brand new couches and chairs as well as other various damage. I called Richard as soon as we opened the truck and he told me to text him pictures and they would take care of all the damage. I sent 80 plus photos, left countless voicemails, as well as several texts and can not get a phone call or text back. We are now left with all this damaged furniture and trying to figure out how to collect on the damage. read more

We moved from Albuquerque to Kingman, crew took a smoke break every 20 min and took 5 hours to load the u-haul truck. Crew asked at 10 if they could run into town and drive through to get a hamburger, an hour and a half later they returned. We asked them several times to not smoke by the cooler so the house didn't fill with smoke and they ignored us, and gave quite a bit of attitude. Finally headed out to the new home. We passed them in Gallup and the driver was moving along great. Called then while going through ash fork and they informed me they were just getting into flagstaff, only an hour behind us. We made it to the new house in 6 hours, understanding they would take a bit longer. They finally arrived at our new house at 1:30 AM, 12 hours later? I cannot understand what they did to take 12 hours when they were only an hour behind us at flagstaff, a 2 hour drive from Kingman? I asked the Forman what took so long and he gave attitude sayin it takes time to drive, that was all he would say. Maybe they decided to pull over and take a nap? All of our boxes were labeled for specific rooms, I asked the fireman to place each box in the specific room, he replied it would take too long to do that and piled them all in the living room, leaving me to move each box! They only took 2 hours to unload the truck, but damaged our TV stand, and crushed/ damages just about every new box I had purchased from u-haul. When I went to return the truck the next day, I had to air it out for hours from them smoking in it, and clean out all the food/candy trash! The owner Richard had told me he would personally move me, but sent the attitude crew instead. With all the great reviews of him doing it I was motivated to hire him. With the rental price of the truck, the $200 for gas for the truck and $1200 I paid him, I could have hired a professional moving crew, lesson learned! If the owner promises to move you, make him stick to it because his employees have a really bad attitude and ruin your belongings if he isn't there! read more

Part of Movinghelp.com through Uhaul. Unprofessional woman that uses one phone number to contact you and then expects you to call another phone number. Using the number provided I continuously tried to reach this woman to no avail. On the road I called three times, always getting an answering machine and leaving a detailed message with my full name and phone number, including area code. As I arrived at the destination after 5:30 pm, she called and said that she would send two men out, but that I had not called, I told her that I did and she said, "well you didn't call my cell phone number" I told her that I called the only number that I had for her. I then spoke to the Uhaul GM that said that they were closing in an hour and that their facility did not have a large enough storage unit. I called the woman back and told her that she should have known that they closed at 7 pm. She interrupted me saying that I did not call and that it was my fault. Irritated, I hung up on her. She immediately called back and said that no one would be coming out and that I did not call her and that she would not be disrespected. I told her that it didn't matter that I would be filing a complaint. Fortunately the people at Uhaul were very helpful going out of their way. They hooked me up with a mover that was just returning a truck. He and his coworker unloaded my truck at a different location at 7am the next day. I was able to make my scheduled flight out. The woman at On The Ball Moving is unprofessional, should not be working with people and is just plain rude. read more
