    How the kitchen was packed.

    After about a month of researching moving companies, we chose Lobo Moving to pack up our 3bd 2bath house and place it into storage. We prepped the house for the white-glove service, and they arrived on Monday. Upon arrival, we discussed with the three movers what was fragile, what was heavy, and any nuances to the house. It took them about 1 day to pack the house and 1 day to move the house to storage about 5mi away. There were some concerns during packing but, after experiencing a few military moves, we weren't concerned as things happen. It was actually red flag number one when we realized that there were car parts left in the truck under a couple layers of blankets when they had stated they were done unpacking and leaving. That interaction was interesting to say the very least. Red flag number two was how the storage units were packed. Fragile boxes stacked on top of each other, furniture shoved in at an angle, miscellaneous little things scattered around, parts to pieces of furniture shoved in corners, framed art unwrapped in a corner, the list goes on. I reached out to Lobo Movers about these concerns, and I was told "they would talk to their crew" and after following up multiple times, they never got back to me. Now that we have moved the house from storage to a new house, the absolutely egregious lack of respect or care that went into packing is laughable. Again, we have a fairly high tolerance after experiencing sub-par military moves. Wine glasses tossed in boxes without wrapping, antiques shoved sideways into boxes now broken into many pieces, a brand-new couch moved on its side ripping a hole into the arm, framed photos and artwork scratched or canvasses punched in. Truly, the list is embarrassing. I reached out again to Lobo Movers and they apologized for never getting back to me. I spoke with Jeremiah Walling the following business day and he requested I complete a damage form. He had no form to be filled out and said that they "like to keep it casual and easy" via email. Red flag number fifteen at this point. I compiled a detailed 15-page PDF with photos of the damage, cost of the items, and replacements where possible. Jeremiah replied to the email the next day stating that we were out of the window for damages. Why did I fill out the damage form if we were outside of the damage window? Great question. Did Lobo Movers attempt to resolve any of the damages? Not even in the slightest. This seriously isn't even good enough for government work, and that's saying something. If you want to spend $3k for a white-glove move for all your things to be damaged and customer service to not exist, Lobo Movers is the company for you!!!

The pricing is unbeatable, and I've used them twice now. Once moving my parents from their house to a retirement community and then again to move their stuff into storage when they finally had to move into an assisted living facility. Throughout both moves not a single thing was broken, came up missing or was otherwise mishandled. Then to top it all off after they did such an excellent job I wrote them a check which frickin bounced! I haven't bounced a check in twenty years, but I wrote this from an old bank account which was closed without realizing I grabbed the wrong check book. No matter, Joe was very understanding and we met up and took care of it. I expected him to be super unhappy about it but he just shrugged and said these things happen. He's just a super nice guy, a great mover, and overall a godsend when you need to make a smooth transition into a new place.

I was expecting two movers, but three arrived, which saved me money since they charge by the hour and not by the person. I got Scott, Jeremiah, and Elijah. They were so awesome that my sister and I started wishing we had had kids. They were kind enough to move some boxes and furniture from one room to another within my elderly mom's house, from where I was moving boxes. She literally cried with joy for having such help. When unloading at my new house, I was very particular about which boxes I wanted on which shelves and they accommodated even when I missed some and had to ask them to move them after the fact. They also moved furniture I needed moved to make room for the boxes. Furthermore, they kindly put up with my unsolicited, middle-aged, mom-like advice about not collecting too much junk and having backup plans for when their back give out someday. I know my siblings and I could have moved all my stuff, but I think this was the best money I've spent in years! I can't believe it was done so quickly and my back doesn't even hurt! I'm so grateful for all these men and I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

That was up until move out day. Two young men showed up. They had me sign a bunch of paperwork on a tablet they wanted me to sign before they got started. As I was using the tablet they started reviewing everything I had packed they informed me they weren't allowed to transport liquids or perishable Items as soon as they saw I had a couple cases of water and some food near the front door. At first I was a little bugged because I was hoping to get that moved as well but then I figured at least they'll help me with the other stuff. One of my specific requests that I made when I was booking was for them to help me toss an old mattress in the dumpster. The staff I spoke with on the phone said it wouldn't be an issue. The two men moved everything out and at the end when I mentioned the bed they told me they didn't feel comfortable moving it because of the condition of it. I also had an old tv stand that was a little wobbly but stable very sturdy that they also refused to load on the truck. The funny thing is later when I went back for it, it didn't fall apart as they claimed it would if they had they moved it. Must've not have been that bad of shape if I was able to do it. Very disappointing! I had a recliner couch that they were unable to remove the center back due to the bolting. At first they were mentioning that they may not be able to move it either which really upset me. After I mentioned I needed it moved they eventually were able to get it out of the apartment by tilting and lifting it. When we arrived at the new place I noticed one of the males was smoking a vape outside during the job which was very unprofessional. I mean if he'd waited to after the job was done I wouldn't have made a big deal about it but while in the middle of the job, it didn't sit well with me. They got the bulk of my stuff moved which I am grateful for but I am very disappointed by their attitude and the excuses they had for the bed the items they didn't feel comfortable moving. Considering what they charged for the job I expected a way better experience. I will take my business elsewhere next time I need to move.

For the first move, they moved my family's 3-bedroom house plus two sheds worth of belongings. For the second move, it was my dad's jam-packed, 1-bedroom apartment full of stuff. In both moves, there was A LOT of stuff, and they did their best to handle everything very carefully. Even when things didn't go perfectly according to plans (when do they ever?), they were honest, flexible, and amazing. Overall K&J'z is a great local company and their movers are friendly, efficient, hard working, reliable, timely, and will do their very best to make you happy. I've hired them twice now, and I would definitely hire them a third time and for any future moving services I need. Thank you, K&J'z, for making both of my stressful moves a lot easier for my family and me! We appreciate you and can't wait to do business with you again!

They are the worst. We had used them many times in the past, but today's outright cruelty is unforgivable. They should be ashamed. Edit to respond to owner's response: the cruelty continues. But I suppose that is good for the public to see when deciding whether to use this business. It is an absolute fabrication that the apartment was full of feces. John, you never assessed the situation yourself nor even gave us the courtesy of a return phone call so you really shouldn't be stating as fact things about which you have no personal knowledge. Context is that this woman was being moved from one assisted living facility to another. One mover told us that his partner could not tolerate the smell because it turned his stomach. The other mover told us he was fine with it but couldn't do the job alone. We asked if another person could be replaced and asked for the owner to call. We never received any phone call. We have left messages but silence. If you have an elderly family member in need of help, do not contact this company. It is difficult getting older. Your actions have made it much worse.
