I'm writing this review on behalf of my mom, who used Joe's Moving last week. This company was suggested to me when trying to find a mover for my mom and she was pleased that they weren't terribly overpriced, they were easy to schedule and seemed like they would do quality work. The delivered and beat her up expectations! My mom had so much trouble in the past with movers damaging many things during the move and she couldn't be happier that Joe's Moving didn't damage a thing! In addition to that, she said the crew was very very polite and kind, worked quickly but still very cautious not to damage any items or the home moving in or out, and did a great job organizing and loading up and unloading everything she needed moved. She also wanted to mention that she was very impressed with Darrel and how well he was training a new employee during the move and how well the new employee was doing what he was being trained on. The crew placed our leather armchair upside down on gravel (ie - the leather side down! Picture can be seen on Google). They also broke the leg on our dining room table and didn't even have the courtesy to let us know. They wrapped nothing, it was an absurdly careless move. Worst of all, after all of that, Andrew tried to charge me hundreds more than we agreed on (this was a flat rate long distance move). The move in took an hour longer than estimated, so I was okay with paying them their hourly rate for that, but he was asking me to pay much more than that. Worst of all, even though I was the one who had taken notes on what we agreed on and had asked him to put it in writing (he never did), Andrew accused me of misremembering what we had agreed on. While the guys who moved my things were courteous and helpful at all times, they slow-walked the process such that it took 10 hours (yikes!) to move a 2 bedroom apartment. Be really careful before you hire these guys. It was very expensive relative to what it should have been. read more

ALBUQUERQUE POLICE REPORT # 230823941 Joes Moving LLC will steal your stuff! I have text proof and video proof of conversations!! On 12/5/23 two movers from Joe's Moving were supposed to arrive at 9am. When the time came and went, we texted Andrew Elghawaby to ask for an ETA. Andrew said, "10 minutes out". Well after 10 minutes, we asked again and he called this time advising us that he messed up and scheduled us for the wrong day, even though we verified with him prior. He said he was sorry & would send two guys to us around noon. So now I'm set 3 hours behind schedule. I was very upset & after me explaining how his oversite cost me time I did not really have to waste, and only after asking him for a discount due to this major oversite, he only offered a 10% discount. I saved $40 dollars which I tipped the movers for this job because I felt entitled to by tip culture. I already had almost all my boxes and stuff I wanted moved downstairs in the lawn waiting for them. When they finally arrived, Mark and Sergio, went so slow! They would carry one box at a time even little light boxes. They would take breaks frequently & would go to the front of the truck on and off during the move & only when I went upstairs. I was getting so frustrated, so I told them I would just load up my stuff. They told me I couldn't be on the truck which I understand for insurance purposes, but I wanted them to actually work and not just drag their feet trying to run up my time. Then as they moved one of my three TV's, Sergio made a weird comment about stealing my TV. He said, "I'll go ahead and take this one home." I didn't' laugh nor find it funny as I was already frustrated. Over a hr later they finish. Mind you I brought mostly everything down to them and stacked it next to the truck. We gave detailed directions to where were going & they said they would just meet us there & I said I will be leading you and you will be following me. Mark and Sergio drove going about 45 on the freeway and tried to continue going south when I was in the lane to go west. I found this odd, like he wanted to make a stop first or go the long way all the way around the south valley. I told them to just put everything in the garage, I did this due to how slow they were. After they finished, I had to pay for an extra 30 minutes. Then I discovered after trying to go set up my room right away, that my open top box with my white Xbox one, two headsets (black and grey), tv wires/connections for my smart TV, my black connector box and my black Xbox controller were all gone. These items were all packed in one box and I trusted these people (which I know I shouldn't have) with my stuff and they stole it. We then called Andrew and told him what happened and he said he would call both Mark and Serigo and ask if they know where that box is. Naturally, neither of them saw the box and both said they didn't steal/take the box. Like they would even admit that. Andrew got really defensive after a long discussion and me ultimately deciding that I will be filing a police report and contacting the BBB reference this incident. He started to say there was no proof they even moved us that day. I have this conversation recorded which thankfully I did since he wants to be sleezy & try to pull a fast one. I saved all the text messages. Weirdly enough, he texted the receipt (after I demanded it)with the fine print saying they basically have a license to steal your stuff and not be responsible for it. Funny thing is he never sent me this prior nor advised me of the information contained. The customer signature area is blank because he never showed me this contract nor had me sign it prior to Mark and Serigo coming and moving my stuff and also stealing some of it. I told Andrew that I would need Mark and Serigo's last names for the police report and BBB claim and he refused and hung up. We called back and he had the nerve to say we were bullying him and that we are ridiculous and tried to imply we are falsely reporting or "claim jumping" as he called it. read more

2 bedroom fully packed house took 13 hours and they never finished. They charged $2000 for a move that should have taken 5 hours max. Then they left my front door open when they left even though I have pets and they knew. Worst movers ever, incredibly slow. DO NOT HIRE! Moved a 4 bed house into a brand new house. There are gouges in the walls. Andrew says to put paint over them. No amount of paint will fill in holes! Almost every single piece of furniture has scratches and a knob was broken off. They did not use any of their 90 blankets to cover or protect anything. They even dragged the mattresses on the ground. He has utterly no respect for other people's property. It gets worse. Today they came to finish the job, and things went south because Andrew says all the damage was our fault. He told his guys to leave via phone calls. He was no longer responding to us. As they were leaving, his guys ran over our fence! Called Andrew and he says he CANT afford to fix it!!!! He called his guys and told them to leave, so they left after the police were called. He caused thousands of dollars of damage. He wants cash so there is no paper trail, no recourse for his actions. Or so he thinks, security cameras all over the house! Worst company I've ever dealt with. If you value your belongings and property DO NOT hire them, it will cost you more in the long run. They were very nice, but so many things went wrong! They were late but still billed me from the time they were supposed to start, I was quoted almost half the time it actually took (about $300 more), I wasn't warned about an additional 3% charge for using my credit card, the guys scratched and dented my frig beyond repair, my washing machine still doesn't work (so now I have to call someone to fix that!), didn't put support back under the sleigh bed, scratched the heck out of my baby crib (trying to shove it through a door), and took a good chunk out of a book case. They also left a dolly at my old house and haven't contact me to get it. And they turned off the water there and didn't come help me get it back on, even though they said they would. If you believe one review believe this. DO NOT HIRE THEM. Andres is the "boss" I called and text confirmed times. Pick up at 8 am to Andrew. When the crew didn't show up on time I called 8:08. I was told they would be there soon. I called again 8:30 he told be 15 minutes. The crewed showed up at 9 am. They showed me text from Andrew stating that they should show up at 9 am not 8 am. So #1 Andrew is a liar he lied to me and his crew. Also Andrew told me he was out of town because his wife aunt is in hospice. Ok sure I feel bad but I still expect you to do your job. His crew told me he was on vacation. Lie # 2. He also threatened to cancel the job because I was upset when his crew was late. I mean why not, don't I have the right to be?? He went on to say because I called him "bro" that this was a degrading term?!?? REALLY BRO? You got to be kidding bro. Come on bro. I mean why does every one have to suddenly pull out a sex / race card. I mean yeah when I expect a crew to be there and I have my house packed I don't know why I would have expectations to have laborers on time?? I have moved 4 times in 5 years and this was by far the least professional crew. LASTLY they tack on an EXTRA 1/2 hour of time that is never mentioned for them to drive back to the shop. It's never mentioned to you until they give you the bill. As mentioned do not hire these movers Andrew attacks everyone on the reviews whenever they don't go in his favor. Now he wants to attack me and say I have anger issues. It's my right as a customer to absolutely be upset when you are late to a job for an hour. I absolutely have text messages from Andrew stating he would be there at 8 am. His crew showed me text saying to show up at 9 am, so do I believe his response about a 91 yo hospice aunt?? I dunno. I had availed the services of Joe's moving in Mid-March. I first met Joe to get an estimate on how much it would take to pack the items. He gave me a quote and I asked if this would be professionally done and he quoted me the standard rate of 300$ like many reviewers mentioned. He also told me to leave an honest review if I like it or not. I had two movers come in and they packed the stuff. However, the only thing they did was use green plastic wrap without any foam or protectants. I swear I could have done this myself. I paid the money and tips for the guys. The plastic wrappers felt bad when I told them there was a minimum. I had the long distance van lines movers today and they were surprised when I told them it was done by a packing company. They had to get a foam pad and re-do most of the packing the furniture at no cost. Only avail their services if you are moving within the ABQ metro area, but not for long distance move. Turns out if you negotiate well you could get a professional long distance packing done for free by the moving company. read more

Overall, my experience with the company was great. The owner projected quote accurately,and all hidden fees like cost difference of using credit card were reiterated by movers. The two movers' work extremely fast by taking loads of boxes separately. The review is reduced by one star because my wardrobe was scratched and the owner didn't offer any sort of monetary compensation (picture attached). I did witness the movers' wrap the furniture once they got it inside the truck. My suggestion is for people to spend the extra money pre-wrapping their furniture. I bubble wrapped fragile items inside boxes, wrapped my mattresses, and had all boxes securely tapped. However, this is one area that I neglected because I thought it could be handled with their supplies. read more

Tetris masters! Overall the guys did a great job! Xavier and Cory moved with a sense of urgency while always being cautious of our items. We had a lot of items for a 16ft truck and not an square inch was wasted! When I wanted something done a particular way, they listened and were happy to oblige. They were polite, professional and down to earth. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because they were 30 minutes late. I've used 3 different moving companies in the last 3 months (for business as well as residential) and unfortunately, all the companies have been late. So while it's not unusual, it's still not the best. Andrew, the manager, was also very professional and personable on the phone. I spoke with him several times and he was always helpful. First let me say that this review is way overdue! We've hired Joe's moving twice over the past couple of years and each time they were sooooo great! One of the moves was a multi-stop move, 3 different places from the west side to two stops in the NE Heights and they were extremely accommodating. They are super reliable, on time, efficient, took great care of our belongings and their prices are very reasonable. I hope we don't need their services anytime soon (just because I'm tired of moving!) BUT if we do, the only place I'll call is Joe's Moving! My initial impression was that Andrew was very polite and seemed professional. I agreed to hire two movers for two hours at a very expensive rate of nearly $300 to move very lightweight material (Expanded Polystyrene &Plastic) onto a 53 foot semi trailer. It was agreed that 10AM +/- 2 hours would be the start time provided I gave 45 minutes notice before the semi was expected to arrive. At 7:46 AM I called and requested 8:30. I was told that was not enough time, so I asked for 8:45. That was still not enough time I was told. The "crew" sounded like they had just woke up. I said never mind, I'll look for friends to help, but that I would let them know if nI could not get volunteer help. Mind you, a truck driver was standing by to get loaded, his daily time limit was counting down. I called a neighbor, he called his son, and the two of them dropped their responsibilities and came running. After getting volunteer help, Joe's called back offering to get there on time at 8:45. I agreed. The semi showed up at 8:47 and my neighbors and family started loading the truck within two minutes. About 60% of the truck was loaded when Joe's guys showed up at 9:40. Pissed off, I offered them each $25 if they helped with the remainder of the load. Without an apology or a word they got in their car and drove away. We finished loading the truck at 10:10 without Joe's "professional " movers. My advice: look for help elsewhere. read more

The movers arrived promptly, got right to work, and were very courteous and thoughtful with my property. They took time to allow me to relocate my overwhelmed pets mid-move, otherwise we would've made it by their estimate. We went over by 15 minutes and I happily paid the overage as this was a much easier experience than I expected. Andrew, who booked the move over the phone for me, was also very helpful with an accurate quote and flexible booking times. I'm absolutely using Joe's next time I need to move. I paid $300 (+$40 tip) altogether for moving two couches, a china cabinet, a dresser set, a mini fridge, a dining room table set, and several smaller items. When I called to set up the move I was quoted an estimate price based on the movers using the stairwell which was right next to the apartment I was moving out of. Instead for some unknown reason this team decided to use the stairwell AND the elevator which was at the opposite end of the building which inflated our cost by over $200. They also did not take enough care in securing doors on all the pieces because in the move one door was broken off. However they did repair it and put it back on. In hindsight we should have a visual/written estimate done and then would not have had sticker shock at the end. read more

Don't use this company. The manager Andrew will tell you they can have it done in a certain timeframe, however quite the opposite. He sends nice guys but move very slow. They took 11 hrs to move me when it should of only taken 6 hrs tops. They didn't wrap certain items like I had requested. I guess its a good thing. It would of only taken longer and cost me more. The manager was even surprised it took so long. Tried to work it out with the manager but only received lip service. Everything in my house was boxed and wrapped. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I know he will dispute this post. I did tip the guys because they were nice and they expect a tip. Hope it helps when you decide on a moving company. I guess that's why there rating is only 3.7. Go figure! I read the owners reply. 95% was false. I never complained about my family especially to two movers I didn't know. I told them my ex wife used there services. That's how I got there companies name. I had been sick for several days and that's why for the delayed response and I told Andrew that. Don't know where he was coming up with me using the restroom or what he was implying, we all as humans use it. Why was his workers counting how many times I use the restroom vs loading and unloading my items. Stalling to add time which means more $$$! Why would I stop them from working when they were on the clock just to chat?? My house is approx 1000 sq ft. 3 bedrooms 1 bath. Single car garage and a shed. Everything was boxed up and ready to move. Items scattered is totally false. I had already wrapped my pics and art. They did none of my packing nor did they wrap any of my items or furniture. The owner is in a dream state trying to make it look like they busted butt. Hardly the case. They had to take it to my new residence because they took too long to off load and my storage place closes at a certain time. They did me no favors I paid dearly for there service!!!! I don't need any prayers from this guy. He better pray that he doesn't loose any business for sorry service. The driver had to repack my outdoor items because he did it wrong which added 1 extra hr while the other guy stood there and watched. They couldn't get all my items. Again that wasn't mentioned and I'm sure his driver failed to mention that to him. I let the driver know that I wasn't happy with the total hrs it took to do the job when I seen the total bill. Owner failed to mention that. If anything I hope anyone who is thinking of using this company thinks twice and goes elsewhere. Lastly the owner Andrew mentioned to me when we first talked he was surprised that it was taking so long. He mentioned that he thought they would be done by 2:00 pm vs barely leaving my house to the storage at 2:00 pm. He can paint any picture he wants. I know what went on. BEWARE! Hired to move a 10 × 15 professionaly packed storage unit and a 9 x 15 storage unit same facility to a new storage facility less than a mile away. No stairs. No long distance walking, they were full, and had a few heavy items, but it took almost 14 hours 2 men!!! Talk about being taken advantage of. I chose Joe's Moving over the other places in town because they were family owned and local. Andrew was very helpful and came to our house, so that he could give an appropriate estimate. We didn't know if we would have time to get any packing done, so the estimate including packing and moving. We were quoted around 6-700$ to pack one day for 3 guys, and 700$ the following day for 3 guys to move us. We wound being able to pack almost 75% of the house, and I figured we would finish packing while the guys moved us. The 3 young men who showed up, appeared surprised to know they would possibly have to help pack, if we weren't finished. I budgeted a 1000$ figuring that would be more than enough to cover the 700$ move plus any minor packing that would be left. I guess at this point, I don't know what to say because I didn't say anything to Andrew. I feel like the guys did their best but it took much longer. At one point, I didn't see anyone in our house or moving anything for long periods of time. To the point I went and looked one time and they were all three in the back of the truck. I'm not a mover so I don't know how it works. I let it go. But I guess I'm frustrated because I feel that if the guys had packed the truck with the big and heavy stuff first, we would've been able to make it all in one trip. But instead, my bed frame which has two pieces, was not able to be packed. Which then meant we had to make two trips. At this time, the guys left for an hour and went and had lunch and we met them at the new house. Skip forward...we then had to go back to the old house to get the bed frame and remaining boxes that were packed. But because things had taken so long, I didn't ask the guys to help us finish packing what little we had left. So we left the house and unloaded the few remaining things. Again, because of time, I also didn't want to ask the guys to put anything back together, such as bed frames or TVs. It was now 7pm. So in the end, are we moved? Yes! Would I use this company again. More than likely because they are local and I prefer to support local businesses. However, I am not happy that the total bill was almost 1500$, not including tip. Which is way more than the original estimate, if the guys had done everything and we still have about 4 carloads to try and get over to the new house, in less than a day. So I guess this review is average and it is mainly because of the cost. I can't quite figure out how we went from 700$ with 3 men, to almost 1500$ and we still have stuff to move and have to put stuff together. All in all, the guys were nice and helpful and did work hard. So this isn't a bad review, I'm just not completely happy with the end result/bill. And maybe if I had expressed myself to Andrew, he may have worked something out, but I didn't, so I take accountability for that and I can't blame him for something he is not aware of. read more

I can't review the quality of this moving company because I rejected using these folks when the person (Andrew GM), who was supposed to come and give me an estimate, was a "no show"--twice.
