On Point Tree Service does not care about any mess or damage done by their workers Update: The owner called me as soon as my reviews posted. He lied in the response. He said he would send someone only if I took down my reviews. I told him to clean the driveway first and then I would edit my review. He refused to do that which speaks to his integrity. Do not believe the response he posted to this review. I chose to use On Point Tree Service to trim my backyard trees based upon the previous five star reviews. Be careful of making the same mistake since, from my perspective, the raves are definitely not deserved. It may be ok if they do not leave a mess or do damage to your home, but don't expect good customer service from Bryan, the owner, if they do. Although they originally parked their oil leaking truck and wood chipper in the street when they arrived, they moved it to my newly refinished driveway while I was busy elsewhere in the house. They did this solely for their convenience to save a few steps. Their leaking truck and chipper left a mess in the previously spotless driveway. I notified Bryan and he apologized and said that he would educate his guys so that it did not happen to anyone else. His guys should have been trained in the first place but still, better late than never, since he also said that he would send someone out to clean the mess. But his actions speak louder than his words. We did what we could to sop up the oil while waiting for the person who never showed up. When no one showed up the following day, I tried to contact Bryan for an ETA and he ignored my requests for days. When he finally responded, he said that he could MOST LIKELY get someone out here next week to "try to get as much out as they could" which would be allowing 7 days for the oil spill to continue to further seep into the concrete. He also said that he would "touch base with me the next day to confirm" an ETA. Again, that never happened. That is completely unacceptable customer service and definitely shows a complete lack of care or concern. BE WARNED, it's better to go with a customer service oriented company that takes care when working at a customer's home and takes responsibility and quick action when damage is done. Believe the negative reviews and not the owner's false promises to make things right. read more

Please be warned .. Pros: insured & competitive cost Cons: not punctual, terrible communication, unprofessional, disrespectful & takes no accountability. We submitted an inquiry for one oak tree to be removed and the other oak tree in my back yard to be trimmed. They sent an approval for one of the cheapest quotes I had received and I approved (without talking to anyone in person of my vision) and they showed up, all within 24 hours. I made it very clear in THREE separate emails (to the owner) that I didn't want anyone to touch my tree that needed trimmed until I could show someone what I envisioned, since I had yet to show anyone; I had seen pictures of their work and I wanted a different look with less taken off than their normal work that's been done- I had a specific vision I wanted to see carried through. They showed up an hour early while I was in the middle of an appointment that I couldn't get out of that the owner had known about; we had talked that morning about a timeline as well. This was fine, I previously mentioned via email that the tree being taken down could be done without my presence, if needed. It all took a turn for the worst when I started watching them hack off huge limbs of my other tree before I arrived home. Through panic & disbelief, I called everyone I could to try to get them to stop. It took someone having to drive over there to get them to stop and wait for me. Long story short, I showed up and my tree had been butchered (in my eyes- which is pretty important, if you ask me). I immediately called the owner and he had known and showed zero sympathy and blamed the workers entirely. He took zero accountability, didn't even think to reach out to me to begin with and failed to apologize; he outright could care less. This made me more upset than I already was. I told the owner I wanted a discount or replacement of my tree. He didn't seem to mind a discount and said the guys working would be paying out of their pocket for what I didn't..?! My husband asked the workers to take down the VERY small palm on the side of our house and the guy onsite let me know; this was the least they could do? Benito (on site manager?) was apologetic but also claimed they were not told about the back tree needing approval, so in the end someone was a liar and I HATE liars.. they offered to trim my front bushes but I did not allow; I didn't want them butchering anything else honestly. When it came time to pay, we were literally harassed for 24 hours getting several calls, texts, voicemails about wanting payment but I had yet to receive an updated invoice. When I reached out, the owner mentioned the workers did extra work so we basically should pay the agreed amount?!? I'm sorry, they took 90 seconds to remove a 4 foot tree(didn't even grind the stump!) and I'm expected to pay full price after wrongful damage and emotional/mental anguish??? The owner then had THE AUDACITY to question our integrity because I still expected a discount and told me 'to pay what I thought was fair'. I ended up paying 75% which I think is MORE than fair even after being blatantly disrespected by the worst customer service I have EVER received. If you have a small job, sure go with these guys. Update: Bryan the owner called and sent his crew out the next day after this post to finish clearing out the tree. His crew did a great job. He is sending out another crew to complete the work on cutting the roots on Monday. It is nice to know there are business owners that take care of their customers and they value the relationship. I will call Bryan again to do the work in the future! I called Benito back multiple times to come out and finish the job because after a closer look we still had multiple dead branch's in the tree that should have all be cleared out. He said he told he said they on their way back out he said they would get it done but never showed back up. Additionally they were paid to remove the roots and fully sever them from around the tree. The large root that was leading out to the street. Instead of fully cutting the root they only cut through part of it. They were paid to clean out the tree and I was very specific in my instructions and even showed them examples in the community of what I expected. He upsold me on cutting the roots so they would not cause more damage but they halfway did a job. I would recommend or rehire them. read more

This is the fourth time we use On Point Tree Service. Just like its name, the service has always been "On Point"! They have trimmed two big oak trees in our front yard and several palm trees in the backyard. We have always been pleased with their know-how on trimming oak trees such that the trees look perfectly shaped and allow enough sun light to the grass below. With the palm trees, they have cut down ones that died over the freezing temperatures and ground the stumps. They always haul away debris generated from the jobs, put pot plants or whatever on the path back to the original locations and clean up afterwards. We are impressed with the crew of four who work safely yet quickly and professionally. The climber always wears hardness to protect himself from falling! Such a pleasure to see how he prepares himself safely to move from one branch to another or to climb the 50-60 feet tall palm trees before cutting. Their price has been reasonable although it requires some cost comparison ahead so negotiations can be made fairly. We highly recommend their service. What started off as a good first date and a beautiful job they did planting a large landscaping project last year with me (total of over $10k spent in 2020) I'm updating my review. Numerous times I literally have had to beg these guys to come out. On average I would text them no less than 3-4x each time I would need them to come out. The next 2-3 visits after I spent nearly $10k with them for normal landscaping maintenance ended with a nice clean job, pretty landscaping but they would blow mulch into my pool and cause my pool to have an iron/cobalt reaction to my new plaster. I spend over $1k in pool chemicals and several weeks trying to figure it out, and when I finally did it was all the mulch that was blown by them in the back yard into our pool. At the end of each visit it was like checking out at the car dealership for service. No matter if they were here for 1.5 hours or 4 hours it was $600+ for normal landscaping maintenance. Trim bushes/trees, clean and weed the flower beds, trim plants and banana trees. Trim some branches off palm trees. Nothing too complex nor difficult. After the second time of sticker shock, I asked Brian the owner why they were so expensive he finally explained you are paying for the entire crew, their fancy nice trucks and advertising (he didn't say that but I'm viewing their fleet and advertising) and you literally have them for the entire day or half the day. Next times I used them I was careful to monitor what time they arrive and what time they leave. After begging them again to come 3-4x they finally showed up with what I thought was "first thing" on a Saturday and it was 11am. After an hour of work, one of the workers was laying down in the shade in our back yard taking a siesta (nap) and eating. Guys out front were chilling just relaxed and taking a break. After one hour of work and they were already late to arrive! No less than an hour after they were done breaking, they left, and of course another $600 to pay for the nice trucks (which by the way leaked oil all over the street) and full crew and advertising. During the freeze we lost a lot of plants/trees/shrubs like many others. Unfortunately my insurance did not cover anything. I tried to file a claim and had asked Brian numerous times to get me a receipt with itemized details of what we paid him to try to get some relief from insurance. To no avail we did not, however I told Brian we still want to replace all our landscaping and he sent one of his guys over to see what our trees looked like. After again 3-4x asking and following up finally they said the nursery had some stock of "some" of the things we wanted and he gave me a bid. $8,200 for five banana trees ($30ea), some yucca cactus plants, some flats of begonias and some other small flowers/shrubs to plant. No big trees, no palm trees, nothing huge. I asked for a breakdown and he really couldn't give me any. Just robbery and ridiculous pricing, terrible service and follow up and they will not be getting another penny from me. I wouldn't use them again. read more

Service was done unscheduled when I was not home and on a day when the On Point Team had to stop due to inclement weather. The primary branches that I wanted to be removed were NOT removed. After calling and trying to coordinate for almost a month Bryan the owner is stating that I must pay more to get basically 3 branches cut. This is not the type of customer service I envisioned. The takeaway is to be home when they do your service, you need to be there and point out exactly what you desire because they do not correct their mistakes and will charge you additional costs to do what they were supposed to. This company is not accountable and does not make any compromise with customers. read more
