If you love donuts you definitely need to try this place! Was actually on my way to try iPIE's pizza when I drove by here but it was closed (closes at 2pm everyday) so came back today. I got four chocolate and two cinnamon sugar donuts both very good! The donuts here are smaller and light but they melt in your mouth on every bite. The Who runs the place was very nice and very grateful I came in. Only negative was it was little pricy but not a big deal though. Will definitely return again to try other flavors!! read more

OMG is the best. I get the mangers choice dozen for my staff and they all rave about how good they are and usually try to get two. The owner was very nice and asked me if I was from Arvada or visiting. I told him I'm visiting from Oregon and he told me about a trip he took there not long ago and how he liked how green it was. I got a plain glazed, maple cake, blueberry cake, and apple fritter. The cake donuts are unlike any I've had and they almost taste like pancake batter which I really liked. Glazed donut was a solid and I always get one wherever I go to see how they do they basics. Apple fritter had a good amount of apple and cinnamon but was a little more bready than I usually like my fritters. All in all a good donut shop. read more

Right as you walk in there's a display of donuts behind the counter. They close at two so majority of the donuts were gone when we went in at 1. Since it was our first time, the worker explained the different donuts and let us sample the donut holes. The donut holes were delicious, perfectly chewy and fluffy. We ended up getting cake donuts, original glazed and raspberry filled glazed donut. As a side note, there's three different kind of donuts that you can get with a filling of your choice (custard, raspberry and I think two others). If you know anything about me (and you probably don't, because this is Yelp, not Facebook), you'll know that I am a donut connoisseur. As a donut connoisseur, I am getting a little tired of the fancy creme brulee lavender whiskey flavored cereal covered donut craze that's taking the world by storm. I can appreciate a good flavor pairing and a unique donut, but sometimes you just want a plain old cinnamon cake donut, or a tasty glazed cruller, and OMG Donuts is the place for that. We showed up at the end of their business day, so the selection was a bit limited, but we still had no problem at all leaving with a bag full of yum. The apple fritter and cruller were the only two I tried, but they were both delicious, tender, not too greasy...basically everything I would want from a traditional donut. LEGIT DONUTS! On the way to the mountains to go snowboarding, our friend was raving about this place and took us there to try it. As we were walking in, a man that came out with a box full of donuts told us these were the best donuts in town! Walked in and you could tell this place was going to be legit. There were families sitting in there eating. You never see that at a donut shop! Everyone knew the owner by name and the owner knew everyone! The options weren't as vast as some other places but they had the stuff I usually got. The owner gave us donut holes as samples since we had never been in. They seriously melt in your mouth. So light and fluffy! The filled donuts are made to order so you pick yours and then he fills it on the spot. Pretty neat! Since moving to Denver I've been searching for a place that reminds me of Shipley's Donuts in my hometown, Houston, TX. These totally hit the spot. The glazed are so light and fluffy even in the late morning, the jelly or cream fillings are injected right before your eyes, and my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE are the RED VELVET CAKE DONUTS. My husband is not the biggest donut fan but last weekend he actually asked if we could go get some of the red velvet cakes ones. They're just that amazing. You can't compare this place to the big stores like Dunkin or Voodoo but it's a simple shop with a nice owner that even let us try the donut holes before we bought anything. It's a small storefront in a strip mall. We love a good donut, so proceeded. Inside there was no line, but a good selection. The owner seemed very nonchalant and when we were having troubles deciding he picked up that we had not been there before. Immediately we had samples in front of us and he sprung into action explaining his donuts. His pride in his work was clear. Then he got to the good part. Want a filled donuts? I'm the payday Friday donut picker-upper aka low man on the totem pole. Every payday I get to pick up 2 dozen donuts for our manufacturing plant. Prior to moving to Arvada, I'd stop by King Soopers and pick up 2 dozen-- those would last until about noon or so. I've stopped by OMG Donuts and picked up 2 dozen (since it's on my way to work now) and those donuts are gone by 10am, I have co-workers that request donuts by name. So overall, yes, the consensus is that OMG Donuts is awesome. On to the donuts... Have a co-worker that loves old fashioned cake donuts and constantly complains that no one makes them like they used to. He said that these are the closest he's had in a long time. Glazed donuts are more my style... overall, I'm a fan. I think they're light and fluffy and don't have a hard build up on the outside. I'd give the glazed a 8/10 (my favorites are hot Krispy Kremes straight off the assembly line...maybe it's a childhood thing.) One other reviewer didn't like that the creme wasn't already in the donuts. I'm a fan, because you know that the creme hasn't been sitting inside of the donuts for 10 hours (how long it's been sitting in the machine... I don't know.) Again, co-workers really like the creme filled donuts. As for the look of the place. Yeah, the place could use updating and yes, the donuts are open air, but this doesn't bother me, as one of my favorite donut shops growing up was served in open air-- it's something I grew up with. I'm not someone that carries around hand sanitizer and I think a little dirt on your hands makes for a better meal. Stopped in to this gem on a snowy Saturday late morning. It was actually the best decision I made all weekend. There were two groups of people in front of me and one worker (the owner) who attended to everyone efficiently. I was probably in and out in 10 minutes. This guy has an array of delicious donuts AND you can request them to be filled with 5 fresh fillings. I tried everything from the twists to the chocolate frosted with sprinkles and the red velvet donut. All of them were perfect! Red velvet had a good crisp like I like on cake donuts. Also filled a glazed with raspberry and a chocolate frosted with Bavarian. Perfect sweetness levels. I have found my new donut spot. Just sucks its 20 minutes from home but well worth it! It's true if you say you're a first timer the owner (only worker) will give you sample donut holes (only one variety). If you're looking for the basics done right this is the place for you. Prices are really reasonable. We got a half a dozen and 2 coffee drinks for $11. We had the following: - red velvet cake glaze (x2) - blueberry cake glaze - old fashion cake glaze - chocolate long donut filled with peanut butter - chocolate circle filled with vanilla All yums. Peanut butter is not a whipped peanut butter but a legit creamy jiffy kind of PB. Its pretty rich. They also had maple dipped variety and sprinkles and cinnamon cake. They also had pine cones, apple fritters and bear claws. The filling choices we had was custard, vanilla cream, peanut butter, lemon and raspberry (i think that was it). It's a great hole in the wall treasure. If you're looking for fancy and commercialized, you won't find that here. If there was one of these in Ohio, I would come back! read more

After reading some of the reviews here, I stopped in. Big mistake. There were 6 or 7 people ahead of me in line and was thinking the donuts were going to be great. After standing there for a while, they had helped ONE person. Then the woman went into the back room an did not come back. The guy that finally came out to the counter was SO SLOW. Took 20+ minutes to finally get served. Asked for an Apple Fritter only to be told they were out. I ordered three different kinds and finally checked out and left. The appearance of the glazed donut looked OK, but when I bit into it, OMG what a mouthful of crap. The dough was undercooked and soggy. The flavor was a little yeasty, but tolerable. The glazing wasn't bad. Next was the Maple Bacon. Same undercooked, soggy lump of dough topped with non-descript frosting and pre-cooked bacon bits from Costco. The PineCone does look like it stayed in the oil more than 30 seconds. I was keeping it for Sunday because OMG is closed then. I will update after tasting. read more

Best donut shop I've found in Colorado! Not a huge selection but what they do, they do well. Very friendly, they even throw in free donut holes every so often! Have not tried their hot foods, and took one star off only because of my sadness when I get in a little late and they don't have any more cinnamon rolls! Wow did this place nail it with their name. Light, fluffy, orgasmic donutluciousness abounds here. I picked up 2 dozen yesterday morning in celebration of my son's 23rd bday. One mixed dozen which is half glazed half chocolate glazed. The other was several specialty delicacies. My favs: cinnamon twists, Bavarian cream and raspberry jelly. The fillings are creamy without being cloyingly sweet, while the donut itself is delicate and with tiniest bit of chew. I'm not big into donuts but OMG I'm sooooo waking up early for more of these in the near future. I'll hafta start making up special occasions just to get my fix. Wickedly addictive morsels of heaven that will suck you in and make you their do-bitch. And you'll love every second. Don't forget the pigs in a blanket. As I write this review my keyboard is getting progressively sticky and sweet. I just can't seem to stop eating this half doz' I picked up earlier today. It's almost gone. Donuts are a special, special treat for me since they sit on the "do not eat" list enforced by my doctor to protect me from something called high cholesterol (but which I call the bane of my existence, "muy mal, no no bueno"). So it is with extra-careful care that I select a donut shop for my once a year indulgence. OMG Donuts lived up to the honor! It's not a place worthy of a Food Network visit for some out of this world donut concoction but it does put any other chain shop to shame. Even in the late morning the donuts were crispy where they were supposed to be crispy and the fact that they were lacking in inventory is a testament to how popular this place is. I am decidedly old-school when it comes to my donut choices. The old fashioned was crispy and sweet and not soggy at all. The cream-filled was soft and delicate and I enjoyed watching the owner use what could be described as a donut-torture device to inject the vanilla creme into the donut just before handing it to me. These are some of the best donuts in town. Delicious, fluffy and fresh, even at 12pm! I really appreciate how light they are, not heavy like other donuts can be. The best part is he will customize your donut with a specific filling. He can also make specialty weekend donuts during the week if you call ahead (like maple bacon, yummy). It's not the easiest place to find if you don't know the area. It's located in a strip mall with a 7-11 and The Olde Town Tavern. Not impressed. I was so excited to try my neighborhood donuts shop, and was completely let down. My first impression walking in was hum-drum, zero atmosphere, lack of vibe, quiet, and plain. I was picking up donuts for the guys at a tire shop whom fixed my flat. I ordered a 1/2 dz mixed donuts that were given to me in a SMALL paper bag oppose to a small box that I observed. I asked for a box (for presentation) and was given the stink eye, and I did not get a box. I was embarrassed to deliver this gesture of gratitude to the guys, but I followed through. He was so kind and excitedly showed us how he got in 5280 for Editor's choice of best donuts. I got a red velvet and cream filled donut. He fills your donut right there for you and there were 5 different choices of filling. And he gave us donut holes to sample when we came in. It's right near olde town which makes it even better.
