Chris contacted me, came to inspect the lawn, sent a crew out to fix the seam and addressed what I thought were ant hills, were probably molding oranges from my neighbors trees, and then came out and inspected it one more time. We're both satisfied with the results and he's taken care of my lawn now and in the future . Thank you, Chris, for admitting and fixing... not many people like that left around who are willing to admit their part and owning it. They promise the world when they are selling and deliver the bare minimum once the job starts. Don the sale guy promises to be by your side the entire way, and address all issues, but when you need him, he sends you to the owner Chris, who could care less about your satisfaction. I made several compliants, and Chris never called back after any of the so-called fixes. They just hope you don't call with complaints, and don't follow up after the work is complete. Don calls me the second the crew walks off the job, and says the job is complete, and asks for full payment, which I made the mistake of doing... Since that point, Don could care less and not of any help at all. read more

While very quick to respond to our inquiry and schedule an in person meeting, that was cut very short. Did not have the opportunity to work with Omega Turf but this is based on our my brief meeting regarding Turf in our backyard, side yard, and then front yard, paver walkway and concrete pour to widen our driveway. 3 Stars for being knowledgeable/reputation, but not being flexible given the size of the job and talking negatively about other competitors and their incompetence. As we have a big remodel project with our backyard including pool, deck, and turf - we have may multiple contractors in place. One of the first questions I first ask is logistics of how the Turf Contractor would work with the other contractors. Omega was the first company that said others were doing it wrong and that all other work, concrete deck resurface, pool remodel, and more should be done prior to Omega coming out to even starting their work. So I asked for clarification " You want to wait until everything in the backyard including the pool is done before we start the demo (concrete and hardscape) for the turf?" Further, I asked "wouldn't it be easier to have everyone demo in the same stage (obviously not exactly at the same time as there would be chaos), so that no one is getting any of the demo material and equipment on the newly finished surfaces? Pool demo, deck demo, yard demo, and then everyone work on their respective jobs? You are the first person to challenge the logistics on this." Don replied, "No, they (other turf contractors) are doing it incorrectly. We should come in at the end of the remodel and do our part including demo all at once. This makes sense for the day-laborers to do it all at once." While I understand the financial aspect of this all for Omega Turf, it doesn't make sense to me to call out other companies for doing things incorrectly. And if we had a big enough project, I am estimating off of our other bids received, this project with the turf, concrete, paver would've been a big chunk of change. At this point, I asked clarification again, because out of the other bids we have had from both larger and smaller companies, we have not had this challenge/objection. Don did verify that it did not make sense for Omega Turf to come out to demo the backyard, work on the rest of the project in the front and side yard, and then finish the turf in the backyard in the matter of a week or so. Think about it, bringing in equipment and hauling out over 1000sq ft of concrete demo and hardscape over newly finished surfaces did not make sense to me. This area to turf had the most demo on the far end of our yard, so all the material would go across the entire length of the new yard and new surfaces. While I appreciate Omega for their prompt response and I appreciate Don's extensive history in the business, I felt that this project/job would have been worth it but could not have been even considered since Omega Turf couldn't work with other VERY reputable Pool Deck and Pool Remodel contractors that have been around for decades. Bummed to not even get rolling with Omega Turf, but again, with this much of hard time to even get in the similar mind-set, would probably foreshadow issues in the future. I was very excited to have Omega Turf come out as their reputation and reviews on Yelp are very positive and appears to have great final products. However, with that being said, if you do have a project that involves multiple contractors, you may need to consider another company. read more

They installed light up cups, one of which stopped working within 6 months. After several promises to fix it, they went silent. Save your money, go elsewhere. We're a repeat, satisfied customer of Omega Turf! We had our front yard done in '21 and just finished our backyard in '22. Turf is not cheap - we're in for almost $20K at this point - but the benefits of maintenance, saving water, etc. are amazing. Our kids love the feel of the product - really thick and soft. Fantastic Company. From beginning to end, Chris and Don were top notch. Chris called and emailed right away and we set up a time to do an estimate. Don was prompt and friendly. We chatted a bit, and he went over all the details of what the job would entail. The price was very good. They were able to come out the following week and the crew worked HARD all day! It was a smaller project (300+ square feet), and they were able to finish in a day. The quality was exceptional. Even the clean up afterwards was impressive. When they left, it was cleaner than it has ever been! Seriously! And when Don came by the next day to inspect it, he reminded me that we are together for 15 years. Omega Turf saved our backyard! We had a different contractor come in and attempt to lay down pavers and turf and ultimately did some pretty horrible work. After three months of dealing with that we cut off that project and found Omega Turf. Don and Chris were fantastic, realistic and extremely professional to work with. They gave us a timeline, a professional contract and quote and executed the work beautifully. We got a few different quotes from various turf companies and ultimately, Chris and his team won us over. They way the presented themselves and talked about our project was the best. We have a large yard that we wanted to make turf, a pathway with pavers and turf, a patio in the back with pavers and turf and a 35 foot putting green. Before they could start they had to demo our previous contractors entire job (think adhered turf to wet cement) and plan out a new pathway, patio and putting green. The teams arrived early every day. Once made our decision he promptly scheduled and the crew was in and out in the blink of an eye. They completed the job in three days. Now we are enjoying our waterwise backyard and mud-free paws. Later in the year we wanted to re-lay the flagstone around our garden, without hesitation called Don again. As he did before, he quickly got the project going. About a year after Omega Turf transformed our front yard (which is still looking fantastic almost two years later now), we reached out to them again for help with the back yard. To start with, let me paint a picture of what our backyard was looking like. Imagine a wasteland of patchy crab grass, mud, overgrown yucca trees, and an assortment of half dead trees and plants lining it all. But, by far, worst of all was a 40+ foot tall fruitless mulberry tree right in the middle of it all. Its massive roots were popping up all over the yard and reaching under our house. The amount of leaves the thing was dropping on the yard was impossible to keep up with. With the way our yard was looking, the local wildlife was spending more time in our yard than we were. I gave Chris a call and he came over to help me with the planning. We came up with a plan that incorporated a large area of artificial turf, a mulch border around the outside, and areas for a garden bed and firepit. He let me know that he'd get right to work picking up the materials, line up a team and get started in a couple weeks. A couple weeks later the team showed up, and they were ready to get down to business! There were at least ten guys and, by the end of day one, they took our backyard down to nothing but dirt. Every tree root, every branch, every patch of crab grass, everything was gone! The next morning, I checked in with the team to get a couple remaining questions squared away. They listened to my input, ran some different options by me and got right to work. On day three, I came home from work and everything was done! I couldn't believe it! Omega turf did a wonderful job on my back yard. I got a few different quotes, omega turf (Ian) came out and did the best job helping me create a vision for my back yard (for the best price as well). I had a sloped long stretch of dirt adjacent to a wall. He thought the best idea would be a retaining wall and then turf. he also said they could remove a dead palm tree which was quoted by tree removal services as being $400 (they charged 100). I agreed and after a few more quotes I chose OMEGATURF. The job was supposed to take 2 days (Thursday and Friday), but they ended up only working half a day on Thursday, all day Friday, and then needed to return on Tuesday and Wednesday (Monday was holiday). While this was slightly annoying, the quality of work they did was amazing and the crew they sent out was courteous, hard working and cleaned up after themselves better than I thought possible. After the job was completed one of my tenants dogs ended up tearing up a corner of the grass and they came out and fixed it up FOR FREE. definitely recommend these guys, they took care of me. read more

After a recent move, we decided we couldn't live without turf in the backyard. We chose Omega Turf for the second time for four reasons: 1. The turf is very high quality. It looks natural and never gets matted or flat (even after large toys sat in one spot for a while). It's also doesn't seem to get as hot as other turf brands. It held up so well at our last house to our boys and our dog. 2. Omega customer service is on point. They are very responsive to inquiries and requests for repair. We had a root issue at our last house and they removed and reinstalled the turf at no additional cost! They will even come out to fluff the turf if it does flatten (which it won't). 3. AVOID THIS COMPANY!! Omega turf did our backyard in November of 2015 and finished around March 2016. The entire process took a while due to it large in size and screw ups with the entire concrete and turf. From start to finish was roughly 4 months and never really got fixed 100%. Turf went flat after a few years due to cheap material used. I called Chris, he came out and replaced the entire turf but concrete still looks like crap. Fast forward 4 years later, I sold the house with the crappy concrete work. I bought a new house and decided to give them another chance since all other companies were closed during this COVID-19 stuff. Chris gladly came out to measure. Upon arrival, he quickly criticized the Spanish music being played by the construction workers next door and said, "You have to listen to that all day?" RACIST 100%!!! He left after getting his measurements and speaking highly about himself and how he closed his office and now works from home. I put artificial grass down at my house several years ago. This was the best decision I have ever made. No watering, no mowing, no fertilizing and it looks great all the time. Omega Turf did a fantastic job. Recently I had to remove a tree that was located right in the middle of the turf. I called Omega turf and they came right out and pulled back the turf so the tree could be removed. Omega Turf finished my lawn, not on time as promised, but the final product turned out well. Suggestions when getting this service: - If Asher comes to service you, DO NOT give him the business. He is not a professional/responsible person. Request another salesman. Once he got our check, he still had a couple administrative things he promised and never answered any of my calls or text messages. I had to call the admin, Faith and she finished his deal. - Make sure that everything is written down on the contract and inquire about the warranty and make sure that it works for you. - Make sure that you check what the box says on your turf and that they don't slip you a product that you did not ask for. OK - here we go! The bunnies were making my yard look terrible. My son-in-law had artificial turf installed at his home in Alpine about six years ago and it looked soooo good. I figured it was time for me to do the same thing. I pulled up "San Diego artificial turf" on Google and called OmegaTurf. Chris Payne (owner) responded immediately and came out to give me a bid. He educated me on the "do's" and "don'ts", the "can" and "cant's" and explained all the options. He gave me a price, left with a handshake and I told him I would get back to him. I am a retired law enforcement guy, somewhat cynical and skeptical, but I got none of that feeling after talking with Chris. He is straight up - no BS - just, "this is what we can do and this is how much it will cost" - didn't bad mouth other companies and didn't claim to create miracles. Omega Turf did an excellent job converting my crappy, gopher infested lawn into an artificial turf/golf oasis. They also did some minor landscaping which for the most part turned out well. They did the job right and it shows. Turf quality and the prep work before it is laid are of the utmost importance, Omega excelled in these areas. You may find bids that are cheaper but as Daddy always said you get what you pay for and you should do it right the first time. Case in point, my neighbor just had turf installed in their front yard by some fly by night, unlicensed contractor and it looks a wreck, they are very much regretting their choice. My backyard is a golfers dream and is occupied almost entirely by a putting green. I had a sand trap installed initially but have had to turf over it as my dog was bringing so much sand in the house we couldn't keep up. Omega has a putting green guru on staff and he really did a nice job with contouring and overseeing the install. My water bill has been cut in half and will offset the cost of the install over the life of the turf. The big benefit is I don't have to spend time cutting grass, raking, weeding, aerating, etc and can spend that time on the golf course or at home working on my putting stroke. My pooch definitely loves the turf and he has cooperated by doing his business on the side of the house where we had river rock installed vs turf. He has not pooped on the turf or green once since it was installed and I didn't have to train him for this. He loves golf too apparently. Chris (the owner) and the entire team at OmegaTurf did an amazing job for us. We researched several different turf companies and had them come and look at our yard. Chris was by FAR the most knowledgeable in all areas of landscaping, including trees, fencing, how the yard should be sloped for runoff, etc. Having this overall knowledge helps him to make recommendations for types of turf (depending on your lifestyle and yard landscaping). OmegaTurf is also approved for HERO/PASE which was the route we wanted to take. We have spent so much money over the years on re-seeding our lawn and putting down sod, but nothing ever lasts more than a few months because of the type of dirt and southern california lack of rain. Water costs is very expensive, so the cost of keeping the lawn watered is a waste. I picked Omega Turf to do our transition from grass to artificial turf on the basis of reviews on Yelp. The pricing seemed a little high, but we wanted the job done once and done well. Phil helped us with the design and all of the turf samples looked of good quality. We had some cement work on one side of our driveway, to make more effective use of limited space. Phil gave us a start date and completion date, which was four days of work. I was impressed with the workers and their good attitude. They seemed to be happy with the company and took pride in doing the job right. I had artificial grass done before in our back yard and kind of knew the drill. Omega Turf had much more specialized equipment to get the job done. They also have enough workers to keep the job on a good timeline. At one point towards the end of the job, they had 8 workers there. The job was completed on time and we are completely satisfied with the work. Feb 2015 we had our useless, can't grow grass or sustain 2 rounds of sod yard transformed by Omega Turf. We decided artificial turf may be the only answer to ever enjoy our backyard. But we needed new fencing and some serious tree removals. We had already done research on cost and had many friends with artificial turf to guide us. So, we had a budget in mind. We met with Phil for an estimate. From start to finish he was fantastic. I would just ask for him from the get go. We had just finished a major indoor remodel of kitchen, floors and bathrooms, with some front yard tree removal so we were ready to rumble with Phil. We had plenty of questions and he had all the answers. What really sold us was Omega Turf was one of very, very few companies who could do tree removal (pepper trees), Pavers and turf. Phil mapped out some suggestions and then asked a question I thought I would reach across and choke him for. "Do you golf?" Why yes my other half answered. "Well" said Phil, we do putting greens too. Awwww Hell No I thought as my man started gleaming. We went back out to yard as I shook my head watching Phil suggest possible layouts for a putting green. Oh yeah, there was no getting out of a putting green now. Damn. We signed a deal right after, gave a very small down payment and set a start date. I should mention there were finance options but we were paying all cash so we were able to get an additional discount. Now, turf isn't cheap. We knew this going in. But the estimate was fair and competitive and we really liked idea of one company doing all the work without subcontracting. It didn't help that the square footage of putting green was less expensive then turf. I mentioned earlier we needed all new fencing. Alpine Fence said it would make more sense to remove trees and install fencing before turf installation. Crap. So I called Phil and asked if there was any possible way to schedule yard demo a few weeks before turf install so Alpine could give us the best fence install. Phill said he would have to check schedule. He called me back next day and said they would be out in three days to demo yard and remove trees to allow for us to keep out fencing install date. Freakin Awesome!! I want to mention that the demo crew and installers all arrived in company shirts and marked vehicles. As a woman, I appreciated that. Coming out of an indoor remodel we had numerous work crews in and out of our home subcontracted by our contractor. I loved, loved, loved the Demo crew. They worked their butts off, did a fantastic job, and even reassured me that the putting green would be over seen by one of the best in the business. A golf Pro who took pride in his work and loved a challenging yard like ours. They were right. The Demo crew suggested we ask for a "challenging putting green" so as not to get bored too quickly. The golf Pro was awesome. Came up with a design that suited the yard size and we ultimately love. The turf installers and paver installers were equally awesome. They stayed within the timeline and kept us informed day by day making adjustments to plans when we asked. We are thoroughly happy with Omega Turf and all the employees we had contact with. And... We talked to them all. The only reason I waited to review them was we added a Labradoodle puppy to the family and I wanted to see how the turf held up to his bathroom use of the yard. Not too bad. I absolutely love my backyard. I got bids from several other artificial turf companies, but none of them could come up with a vision for my backyard that interested me. Chris came in and blew me away with his ideas. Plus, the quality of his turf was way better than what the other companies offered. (Be careful of companies that come over to give you a bid without bringing over samples of what their turf looks like. You'd be amazed at how bad some of it looks.) Not only did OmegaTurf install the turf, they planted trees, rebuilt a retaining wall, removed two giant palm trees, planted my hill, and painted my existing basketball court. Chris Payne was great to to accept the challenge of our irrigation problem. He was prompt and so knowledgeable about the antique irrigation system. He reviewed the plants in our landscaping and explained how we are sitting on a flood plan. Except for a few plants, hand watering every other week during the hotter season would be sufficient. Chris's crew just finished my backyard this week 11/04/14 They were very professional, worked very diligently and cleaned up a ton better then I expected. Very pleased with the look and the job. My job was a small one of two areas totaling only 500 sf. We had heavy rain two days before and the turf was installed next to a travertine tiled patio.
