This review is long overdue. We hired Miguel and his company, Creative Turf, to do a backyard hardscape job almost two years ago and could not be happier with how everything went from start to finish. I have hired many contractors over the years, many of them top-notch in their trades. But I have honestly NEVER seen such a gritty, non-stop, hard-working group of guys in my life. Their work ethic was the best I have ever seen. Our yard was decent prior to hiring them (when it was cleaned up), but it had areas with a lot of dirt and gravel, and the grass required heavy maintenance for a smaller yard. We also had a lot of insects like flies and small bugs that lived in the grass, so spending time outside was usually brief. We wanted to get rid of our natural grass, the original concrete patio, an old hot tub pad, and the gravel-covered dirt areas to update everything. The list of things we wanted included: Complete Demo: They removed more than 12 inches of dirt so we could change the pitch of the yard for better drainage. Concrete Work: Digging and pouring concrete footings for a future patio cover. Electrical Prep: Installing conduit sleeves with mule tape for future electrical boxes around the yard and stub-outs for the BBQ area. Wiring: Running low-voltage and speaker wire to all the planter beds. Irrigation: Installing an entirely new irrigation system. Hardscape & Turf: Installing a paver system, building planter beds, and laying turf. We had a few different contractors bid on the job. One of them was a 4-hour marathon that felt like a high-pressure timeshare pitch; another had a reasonable price but an open-ended contract, which was obviously a way to add additional upcharges. Then came Miguel. He was laid back, made us feel at ease, and was incredibly knowledgeable. He helped us come up with sensible design ideas, and his estimate was highly detailed, showing the costs for all phases of the project. He also agreed that there wouldn't be any surprise charges unless we decided to change aspects of the project along the way. On the first day, a small army of guys showed up to start the demo, and we could tell right away they were hard workers. The demo took a couple of extra days because there were way more palm roots than expected, plus buried concrete pathways and old fence-post footings from years ago that we didn't even know existed. But every day, from 7 AM until 5 PM in the heat, these guys were busting concrete with sledgehammers, jackhammering, digging, and hauling out material--all without taking more than a lunch break and a couple of quick drink breaks. We didn't have good access, so they had to do all the demo with hand tools and remove everything manually with wheelbarrows. A lot of the turf installations we had seen prior to hiring Miguel were done in a way where you could see seams or dips. The turf Creative Turf installed looks amazing; you can't see any seams or drain covers, even though we know exactly where they are. After almost two years of wear and tear with a large dog and our family trampling it, it is still holding up great. Our grandson loves running around and lying on it. The pavers were cut with precision, and you can tell they spent a lot of time getting every joint and curve just right. The planter beds turned out beautifully and have given us several new seating areas. One thing I was a little nervous about was how well the drastic change in pitch to our yard would handle runoff and drainage after a big rain. It hasn't rained much since the job was completed, but it has rained hard a couple of times, and the drainage system they built worked perfectly. It gets rid of more water than before, with absolutely no ponding anywhere like we used to get. Now we spend more time in our backyard than we ever have. There are practically no insects, and when I'm outside relaxing, I'm not staring at yard work that needs to be done. Needless to say, we highly recommend Miguel and Creative Turf, and we will absolutely hire him again when we are ready to do our front yard. P.S. We used Synlawn's Pet and Play turf for our project. Even prior to hiring Miguel, April at Synlawn mentioned he was an amazing contractor to work with. She was exactly right! read more

We recently used Creative Turf to install artificial turf in our front yard. Miguel, the owner, has an outstanding team and personality. He was always on-site. Any questions, small design changes, or irrigation system adjustments were handled right away--no arguments, just a willingness to help. The most important part, the prep work, was done very professionally, and the team had the right people and tools for the job. 5-Star Experience! Miguel and team are a family owned business with a high quality service. Beginning with the quoting process, Miguel demonstrated patience with all my questions as we transformed a grass lawn to a desert landscape. His team removed all grass, put down a gopher and weed mesh, planted 25 prickly cactus and drought tolerant plants and installed drip irrigation. Topped with decomposed granite, our "Joshua Tree" vibe is complete. So so happy with this beautiful transformation. read more

We are beyond thrilled with the work Miguel and Gus with Creative Turf Install did on our yard! From start to finish, their communication was excellent -- they kept us updated every step of the way, answered questions right away, and really listened to exactly what we wanted. I am a very particular person when it comes to my home and they welcomed my input and changes throughout the process. They completely transformed our outdoor living space with pavers, artificial turf, a gorgeous solid wood fence with 4 custom gates and lattice work, a retaining wall, planter bed, irrigation for new plants and 7+ new mature trees and lots of outdoor lighting/electrical work. On top of that, they built us a custom wood-fired pizza oven and gas fireplace combo that has already become the centerpiece of our yard. The quality of their hardscaping and landscaping work is top-notch. All pricing was fair. The crew was professional, on time, and always cleaned up at the end of the day. You can tell they truly care about their craft, and every detail shows it. Our yard now feels functional, beautiful, and completely custom, and it's all thanks to their expertise in turf and paver installation and custom outdoor features in collaboration with my visual descriptions and sketches. If you're looking for a landscaping and hardscape company that delivers amazing custom work, excellent communication, and takes pride in what they do -- I couldn't recommend CTI more highly! We are so happy we met Miguel and Gus and would love to hire them for future projects and recommend them for all our family and friends' yard improvements. Thank you so much!!! read more

Miguel and his team at Creative Turf are top notch. A well trained and integrated team. We are extremely well pleased with our finished project. Our project was scheduled for 3 days and I actually added the curbside river rock to scope of work on day 2 and they still finished on time. These guys work hard the entire day, it is obvious that management cares a great deal about the workforce and takes care of them. We are very happy with the value of what we received compared to what we paid. Miguel, Gus, and the whole team are incredible. They took our yard which looked the part of the mid century home we purchased recently and made it into the dream backyard for our family with two young daughters, including turf, privacy hedges, and a new patio! This included raising the whole yard almost two feet in certain spots and multiple changes on my part for new flower beds. They were so communicative, responsive and overall such good people. We will be using them for our front yard redo as well when we are ready! I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone. Thank you so much guys! read more

This company is amazing! They are true professionals and their work is perfection! The entire crew is efficient, courteous, hard-working and most importantly they take pride in their work. The owner and foreman are always on site and they lead by example. The work is flawless and they take so much care in making sure the working areas are cleaned daily and when the job is done.......the entire property is spot-less! The detail and the quality of work is unbelievable. . We initially hired them to install turf in our rental and just had to call them back to do our own home! They did our entire lawn area front and back. We love Creative Turf and would recommend them to anybody looking to install gorgeous, high quality turf and considering any other landscaping work! I can't say enough good things about Miguel and Creative Turf Installs! He is very prompt with responsiveness, gives fair pricing, and offers great advice and options when giving you a quote. His team was always on time, the hardest workers I've ever seen, and cleaned up every evening. They were always considerate about leaving our yard secure for the dogs as well. We got screwed over by a contractor before we had Creative Turf come out. They were able to fix the issues and ultimately gave us a much nicer end result than we would have gotten with the other company. We will be calling them again in the future for our next yard needs FOR SURE! read more

These guys did a Great job at my new home!!! They put in beautiful turf and kept everything neat and clean the whole time. Very personable crew. Always here early, leaving late, tireless workers. They also did a 2' x 36' retaining wall for us and added the stone we had already put on part of our house. Additionally, they added that same stone to another piece of our exterior and even gave me the connection to the right business to get the stone as quickly as possible for the job to be done. Gus and Miguel and every member of the crew were polite, friendly, hard working, pleasant.. I actually miss having them around :-) I highly recommend these guys for the things I mentioned here that I had done and if I should need or want something else done, I would call them first to see if they could do it.. they were just terrific! read more

Thank you to Miguel, Gus, and crew!! They did a phenomenal job on relaying my turf after my pool construction. Creative Turf was able to reuse the turf we had initially installed 2 yrs prior after being told by another company it. We were initially working with that it was in bad shape and required all new material. Gus and his crew not only manage to reuse most of our turf, they were able seamlessly blend new turf for a new area we wanted done. This company knows turf and I highly recommend them. They were professional, kind, and extremely efficient and did exceptional work. They gave me and my family our backyard back and we're appreciative of their hard work. read more

Had the pleasure of hiring this company and must share my honest review. We purchased a home and completely gutted it inside and out. Dozens if not over a hundred various contracted employees worked on our house handling every project you could imagine. Out of all of the companies and all of the contractors-this entire team was the best! Professional group of guys led by Gus and Miguel who made additional recommendations during the process that were critical as time has gone by and they continue to follow up after the project has been completed. The customer service and communication continue to be excellent. They found issues left by other contractors working in the yard that would have been costly if not found and honestly saved me time, money and most importantly headaches. They worked hard every day and had fun doing it. The passion for wanting to deliver as a small business clearly shines. Their energy was contagious and all of my neighbors recognized it- each day I would have someone tell me what an amazing job they were doing and how awesome the team was handling our large turf project. The price was fair in comparison and with friends/ neighbors I compared with being competitive cost wise on product and an absolute steal on delivering a quality install. The product they recommended is far superior to those I have seen and all of our guests comment on how great it is. Our family loves how we can enjoy our great looking yard at all times- no more mud, dead spots...it has given us more areas to enjoy together without the additional mess of dirt or dead spots in the yard. Creative Turf Installs put the final touch on our dream home and we cannot recommend them enough. Thank you Miguel, Gus and the team for your incredible work! read more

Miguel Estrada owner of creative turf installs has designed and installed turf in our yard in several areas over the past 5 years, his designs met and exceeded our requirements, he and his team are professional, always arrived on time, cleaned up at the end of every day. Creative Turf Installers did a great job! I found them through my turf supplier, Turfworx's. Creative Turf Installers was recommended to me and Turfworx's put me in contact with Gus & his crew. My job was fairly small and was completed in one day. But they cut no corners getting it done. In fact they had a few suggestions for me and took the time to explain and do the suggestions. During the install I found out that many of the so called big name turf company's, actually sub out and have Creative Turf Installers do their installs. Using Turfworx's wholesalers and Creative Turf Installers is like cheating and cutting out the middle man! Plus I found out Creative Turf Installers are actual contractors who specialize in Landscape construction. Turf is a small part of what they do. I have plans to use them on my next big landscape project. Thanks Gus & Miguel!! Update!! Like I mentioned in my first review, I would use the guys at Creative Turf Installers when I had another job. Well this time is was my house front yard turf. Again they nailed it and did an amazing job. This will not be the last time we work together, as my next project is the backyard and Miguel & Gus will be apart if that too! read more

Miguel and his crew did an amazing job with our backyard. They gave us the best quote in town, listened to all our concerns, and answered all our questions throughout the entire process. I cannot say enough good things about Miguel, Gus and their crew. I can confidently say that they are the best out there. They are not only amazing at what they do but they are professional and truly care about you as a customer and giving you what you pay for. We had our backyard done (turf, pavers and DG) by another larger and more well known company and they did an absolutely horrible job. We paid 10s of thousands of dollars for less than sub par work. We had puddling throughout the pavers and flooding up against our house. Miguel, Gus and their crew came out, pulled up all of our pavers and properly re-grated the entire area, cleaned each and every paver and made it so their were clean lines (before the pavers were laid down in such a way where the lines were crooked). They used quality sand to fill the cracks and resealed all pavers. Even though they did not need to do this, they reshaped our turf area as well because the other company didn't leave it with a clean line. The entire backyard looks exactly how I imagined it to look the first time and we could not be happier. We are going to be re doing our front yard and we will definitely be using Miguel, Gus and their crew. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone I know and suggest you use them too! read more
