I have a 20-year-old Seamaster that needs to be serviced every so often, and before this store opened, I had to deal with one of the mall jewelry stores. They were fine, but of course, Omega was one of many lines the store carried, and so there was a lack of specialized knowledge as well as a constant flow of mall traffic when I went in. This changed with the standalone Omega stores, though - and the Bellevue location delivers the kind of customer service that one would expect when dealing with any luxury good. When I dropped off my watch, Cesar spent time looking it over, explaining the work that would be done and discussing things that might come up (link replacement on the bracelet, etc), possible costs, length of time. But he was also immediately knowledgeable about the watch itself, for example mentioning that the white face was a rarity. There were no surprises with the work that was done, and it was done impeccably. Cesar called me twice to let me know the watch was in - in case I had missed the first message. When I picked up the watch, I experienced similar attention, including a lengthy discussion of both my own watch and a look at some less-sporty options if I should decide to indulge myself again in the future. No pressure at all! Just my questions answered. The watches themselves are expensive, but if my experience is any indicator, they are well worth the price, and then some - my Omega has been worn daily for 20 years, and with the occasional maintenance, looks and runs just like it did on Day One.

The Bespoke Clothier completely changed how I think about fit. If you have a hard-to-fit body type,…read moreyou know how disappointing even "altered" clothes can be. I brought Gabriel a designer suit that still didn't feel right after store alterations. He was pretty honest--said the best it could become was a 7/10--and then went to work. He adjusted the shoulders, chest, sleeves, lapels, which required him to move every single button. It was literally a completely different suit. And for the first time, it actually fit the way it should. Since then, I've gone back for five custom suits, multiple shirts, and my favorite, an overcoat (which I'd avoided for years because of off-the-rack fit issues). Every item has come out perfectly tailored. If fit has always been a compromise for you, it's worth seeing what Gabriel can do. Adding some photos, but I'm not a fashion/textiles photographer. It's harder than it looks.

I've been looking for a place to get a proper suit made for a while. I consider myself a difficult…read morefit -- my chest measurement is at least 10 inches more than my waist. My posture is very upright and that just makes the chest issue even more difficult. There aren't many places in the US outside of New York that do real bespoke -- patterns cut from scratch. I'm glad I found Gabriel. He has a great understanding of classic men's style and proportions. The suit he made for me is very comfortable and continues to get better as the canvas takes the shape of my body. I keep looking for areas to make micro improvements for my next project with him. But to be honest, the fit is so good I'm not sure there's much to change other than experimenting with other styles, like a double breasted. I plan on commissioning something from him every year as long as I stay in Washington. The super tight, short jacket with the bum exposed, with skinny lapels was trending for a while on off the rack clothing. Even some made to measure places make suits like this. If you are looking for a suit to wear for the next 10 years, I encourage you to give Gabriel a try and have him make something timeless for you.

The Bespoke Clothier - In the shop: 3-piece light weight linen and wool suit, with 1/4 lining. Great for #summertime.

The Bespoke Clothier - New in the shop: We love the understated class the grosgrain lapels add to this formal wear. That's the beauty of #bespoke.

This place is for those who have extra cash around, so that they could purchase a model of a fetus in various stages of development, at prices comparable to a real fetus. The shop is crammed full of antique-y type stuff, like curio cabinets, funky old chairs, old old opera glasses, animal heads, large boots of bygone years - The sales person is very hands off, and this is a store for browsing, not for people to follow you around, asking if you want to buy some strange-looking objects that resemble ancient butt plugs. Not that I can't appreciate this stuff in all its overpriced glory. I do like the funky collection of items here, but I also can't help but feel that Old Grandma Mabel from over a century ago is looking down on us and laughing that the old magnifying glass used for her rectal exam in 1889 now being sold here for 1000 times its original cost.

I really love finding old medical and scientific nick nacks and furniture and this place has it all. From full sized anatomical models, charts, medical cabinets, signage, etc. I almost forgot to go back out into the streets to enjoy the Sub Pop Records Silver Jubilee festivities. This is a pop-up shop and it is located just to the south of Jules Maes in the building that used to house the Vespa repair shop. It will be open for 60 days here only since it is a Pop-Up shop off of her main showroom on 17th Ave. SW. It may stay open longer than the initial 60 days if it does well. Definitely worth a pop in to the pop-up shop that opened on the Sup Pop Silver Jubilee day.
