There's no room to dance at any of the events. Secondly there's gyrating on the dance floor. It's club dancing, NOT ecstatic dance. The only reason why the rating is high is because they give people a free class for doing a review. There have been multiple issues with consent and they have to have people with wristbands to settle issues when they arise. Unsafe much?? read more

I had heard of this class but never visited. a friend finally brought me. I had a lot of fun. the space is really great. I like the location. staff is really professional and courteous. I am generally very stressed out and this is a good place for me to try to relax a little bit. I enjoy classes like this more than the gym. working up a sweat in a free form dance class with good vibes and friendly people. read more

WOW I last reviewed thsi in 2012. Om is going strong- much has developed and changed over 12 yrs. The floor was replaced. The bathrooms, banquet facilities and decor are all updated. The people are the same-- wonderful, creative, healthy vibrant people. The offerings range from Tango, to Dance night, kids programs, special events and some yoga. Yesterday I attended my... 20th(?) event at OmnCulture. It is a great open, multi-use space in Fremont. It is always welcoming whether there for a guided meditation, acro-yoga, or an event. There is always a lot going on. I host many events around the area, and OmCulture is very inviting. If it is your first time there, give yourself a little extra time for parking. It is there to be found but you might need to walk a few blocks. Next time I'll take photos. read more

The dances on Thursday and Tuesday nights are hit or miss. The music can be too slow for dancing much of the time. There are usually some good songs. In the past, there were nights when they played a mix of pop, hiphop, funk, and house. Recently it's been more boring music and not a good workout. read more

The ecstatic dance space on Thursday was held super well. The dj offered an opening ceremony with a consent talk and a closing heart share. The music was well curated and varied for high energy and low slow movement that inspired internal and communal exploration. The space is well set up with various comforts, such as soft seating, big spacious dance floor, and 2 yoga silk slings. The community was super cool and the space felt consensual and sweet. OmCulture is an inspiration of community, movement, dance, yoga and everything in between. It's almost like a temple to community and love - and has an incredible view of the city from the windows in this Wallingford location. You walk in and there is an overwhelmingly beautiful energy that fills your body. I came here for my first ecstatic dance and very much enjoyed it! There is this awesome wall of various practitioners' cards in the lobby area that is just overwhelming to realize how many people offer some form of healing in the area. So many workshops and events announced there as well! We came together in circle at the beginning, then flowed into the dance portion. They emphasized consent when dancing with others, which I respect. I think that more could be done to have everyone drop into their bodies and to connect us all together at the beginning and break through the barriers that new people might have (like me), but I am so grateful to have been there to witness the beauty of the dance. A few people danced with me, and one person did some contact improv with me that I very much liked. It was lovely. Much of the time was spent dancing alone, however. I was a little nervous about invading others' space and wasn't feeling very extroverted. Overall, the space is awesome and provides a lovely atmosphere for personal growth using a variety of modalities. I am so grateful to be welcomed into this community. read more

We visited at 10:30 on a weekday without knowing what to expect. The singing circle was great and the parachute activity was awesome! My one year old is still a little young to climb the structures or bounce on the trampoline, but it will be perfect when she is a bit older! I would say it's best for ages 2.5-5. Came here for the tots play time! And wow this place is amazing! Super open with a nice carpeted area with trampolines, big bean bags, swings, a beam and a bar! My little one had a blast! For it only being $8 totally worth it! Also have circle time were they sing songs and bring out drums and other noise makers! We can't wait to come back!!!! read more

Om Culture is more than just a yoga or dance studio, it's a community - and that's difficult to find in a fast paced mainstream world. Seattle has many examples of great community and I believe Om Culture is one of those you should explore. For us, the discovery of Om Culture came through a Meetup group hosting their bi-annual clothing swap. It was so amazingly cool, I decided to go back and find out what else they offer. To my three year old's delight, we discovered the "Om Kids" program which offers play gym sessions for toddlers, preschoolers and more structured stuff for the older school age kids. Their Tue / Thur afternoon play-gym is fantastic! Their studio area is so big and light and airy and kids just gravitate to it like magnets. They have great kid appropriate music playing, and coffee for the Moms and Dads too. The best part of all is of course the play gym equipment. Foam mat shapes, and ramps for climbing, tunnels, two sets of rings and two sling swings from the rafters. A balance beam, several trampolines and even a big pit of super-sacs to jump on! The drop in price is very reasonable, and you can get a ticket of 10 visits at discount too. If you have a very active little one, and need somewhere to go indoors that's tons of fun and good exercise, Om Kids at Om Culture is a great choice! Your little ones will love it. My three year old highly recommends it to yours! read more

I've attended two birthdays here, both for three-year-olds, a year apart. Both events were unequivocal successes. I've heard an adage about it being appropriate for young kids' birthdays to invite the number of children equal to the child's age plus one. So theoretically these parties, which had up to 20 kids, should have been disasters. The reason they worked is because Om is large enough and has enough stuff for the kids to interact with, that the kids can all have a good time without fighting over stuff or crashing into each other. And the place is conducive to parents playing with their own kids. It's not like some playground where the adults are too big to get inside; here everyone can interact together. Om has huge beanbags, various trampolines, tons of hand drums and noisemakers, a stage, swings, gymnastics tumbling gear, and tons more for the kids to get active with. For my niece's birthday, Grace was the resident attendant and she was spectacular. She painted faces, led the kids in activities which were short and just structured enough, and somehow found time to crank out a couple dozen top-notch lattes too! Grace led the kids through some drumming, some singing, playing with a big parachute, and a few other games. The facility has a stage with a soundsystem, so we were able to plug in an mp3 player and have our favorite tunes stoking the party. We brought in all the balloons, cupcakes, snacks, and goodie bags. As the party was winding down, I found my niece on a huge beanbag at the side of the room. I laid down next to her and she said "I've been yawning a lot, so I decided to lay down over here." Indeed, the kids wore themselves out, in a good way. I really can't imagine a better place for a kid's birthday, aged toddler through probably about 6 or 7. read more

Cool space to do some Acroyoga. My first time trying it, will definitely do it again the next time I'm in town. The student ratio was a bit large though for this kind of class that needs extra supervision. There are a number of parking spaces right outside the building by the road. But backing out of the spot can be scary, as you will be backing directly out into incoming traffic and there's a hump separating the parking lot and the road. read more

I showed up for Om Fusion, reputedly one of Seattle's best weekly dance events, and I was not disappointed! The large space and wooden floors were great for dancing, and the cushions/pillows around the edges gave a great space for downtime between dances. Accessible water fountains and countertop space were great for rehydration, and the dancers there were awesome! read more
