Ask the Community - Baila District

Does the studio have air conditioning?

We do not have air conditioning but we do have a tall ceiling and industrial fans to cool the space down in the summer.

The dance floors were clean and spacious. The restrooms were also clean. Some room was equipped with fun lights. The only downside I would say is they do not have AC. We had something come up in late August and needed to cancel our summer camp. I called and they said I was 6 days past the cut off. I was giving them 45 days notice of cancellation, this was not last minute. I tried to level with them since there were 45 days to fill my daughters spot. They still refused. Online there is a waitlist for all their summer camps, which made the whole situation confusing and frustrating. They could easily fill our spot with someone from the waitlist, but they still refused! Why have a waitlist if you don't actually fill empty spots? I find that too hard to believe that they didn't take our money and then charge someone else for our spot. Getting paid twice! No one would have been left high and dry if they had just refunded us in full. I would have enrolled her in their fall class, but they wouldn't even let me do that! They refunded us $92.50 instead of the full $225 and told us never to come back. After they refunded us they stopped payment on the check!!! So we got nothing! Do not bring your kids here.

As my wife liked to say during the intro with Linda, I had two left feet, and I can't tell you how much reassurance and confidence Linda provided us that regardless of our lack of dancing experience, everything would work itself out. And it did! We scheduled 5 lessons with Linda before our wedding and one of the weeks we got Covid and Linda was still able to make time for us so we could get every second with her. She was very attentive, gave us an incredible baseline and foundation and by the end of our lessons, we felt so good about being able to perform in front of 160 of our favorite people. My wife and I agree that the dance lessons with Linda (and sometimes her husband) were the absolute favorite parts of our wedding planning and most of that was the enjoyment from Linda teaching us and getting to know her and her husband with each lesson. Linda - thank you so much for everything and for your energy and passion towards getting people comfortable with dancing! Let us know when those next dance workshops are coming up!!

We took four classes with Linda, where she taught us some dance basics and moves tailored to our chosen song and skill level. We loved that we did not learn a choreographed routine, but were instead taught how to dance and respond to each other in a way that felt natural. Linda was also flexible when we had to reschedule one class due to an (unrelated) injury, which we really appreciated! Linda is so kind and is a great teacher- we were lucky to find her! We always had fun at our classes and had a great time dancing at our wedding. A few people even commented that we must have taken lessons, because it looked so smooth. As a bonus, now I can't wait for the next chance to dance with my partner at a future wedding or event! I definitely recommend Linda for couples looking for dance lessons!

The class participants were warm and welcoming, even in a large group of about 40 of us. The room started out cool/cold(65F), but you soon didn't notice, as your heart rate soars and your body dances to the aerobic routines. The room is somewhat small for that many, but I've understood that most classes are much smaller. A children's room is available inside and adjacent to the dance floor (complete with instructor stage), with plenty of color, toys and things for children. Three or four classes during the week also offer child care at $3/child. Two restrooms are set at the back corner, near which you can also borrow mats for floor exercises. Incidentally, weights are also provided should you choose to use them for your workout.

I grew up as a dancer and didn't realize how much I had missed dancing as an adult. Jazzercise is the perfect way to get a workout. Since my first class over two years ago, Seattle Jazzercise has become part of my daily routine. The people are friendly, the instructors are fun and the feeling of being in a community really helps to keep you motivated. I rarely skip a class, and miss it when I do.
