I've been a MBH member for several years. First, this place is beautifully designed by owner Scott Francis, with two unique practice spaces: a warm vinyasa room (88 F, typically) and a neutral room for meditation, yin and restorative yoga, soundbaths, etc. Both showcase massive gongs! Teachers come and go, as is the nature of the business. Thankfully, I look forward to a few constants: Nicole's brilliant sound baths, Chloe's evocative, primal Saturday am power flows, Alicia's "happy Monday, now let's get this party started" 6:15am thoughtfully curated flows (BEST way to start the work week), newcomer Suki's entrancing Sunday meditations, Teigh's loving Reiki offering, and Sarah Lakey's (who is EVERYTHING good in anatomy and movement progression) slow flow. This is my love letter to a place where, as soon as I settle in/ onto my mat, I feel like I'm home. The community is icing: I hope you come experience for yourself. Came here for the warm vinyasa flow. It is set to 88deg F. Mat rental is $2. I liked the bight natural lighting in the studio. The instructor was very competent and led us through a beautiful flow. It was revitalizing, challenging, and relaxing all at the same time. At the end, we sealed the class with 3 gong strikes and omm's. There are plenty of showers. read more

I have frequented many yoga studios around Seattle over the past two years and have found Mind Body Hum to be an overall good experience for the cost of its membership. After going to this studio regularly for five months I think that this yoga studio is particularly good if you are interested in the more "meditative" aspects of yoga, or if you are an older person. With the exception of one or two instructors, the level of physical exertion offered here is noticeably lower than what is offered by some of the other yoga studios in Seattle (like Commune Yoga, which I believe offers more value overall for the same price). Most of the staff and the studio director Nicole are very nice and welcoming. Though a few instructors and some of the regulars in the community come across as undeniably smug and self-absorbed. One of the instructors, Sarah Lakey, I found to be unwelcoming and passive-aggressive. read more

I've been doing yoga for years and have never experienced a studio like mind body hum! I tried the studio on the new client offer, which is really generous - you get an unlimited month for $40!! This is super generous especially considering the location in downtown Seattle - no other studio has an intro offer even close to that. They offer a variety of classes in two spaces: one space is devoted to meditation, yin, and sound baths; the other to warm vinyasa classes. This was a really nice way to mentally separate my practices. The vinyasa teachers are awesome! I especially enjoyed ashish's and Chris's classes. Ashish did a really good job of making us feel like a community- by the end of class we were all laughing and sweating and having fun. Chris did a really great job of building a genuine practice grounded in breath- one of the first times I've been able to stay with my breath for an entire hour of vinyasa!! In the still room, I really loved nicole's yin and Sarah's sound bath. I had never tried either in this format and really enjoyed both. If I move to Seattle full time I will definitely become a regular here! Definitely give it a try :-) read more

I have been coming to this studio for more than a year now and it's honestly been nothing short of incredible. Nicole is my favorite instructor, whom I believe might be a co-owner as well, and she is always welcoming and accommodating. She even let me come in late once when I was having a terrible day! She also, in my opinion, is extremely respectful to the roots of yoga and always takes time to explain a little bit of yoga philosophy or history. I have been practicing yoga for more than a decade and Mind Body Hum is one of the best studios I've been to. This yoga studio is beautiful - the owner Scott is an architect and he put a lot of thought into designing the space. There are two rooms: the Humble Warrior and the Silent Hum. Humble Warrior is where all the warm vinyasa classes happen and there are mats and props (blocks and straps) for people to use, as well as spray bottles with water and cleaner and reusable cloths to wipe stuff down after class. The Silent Hum room is where all the meditation, breathing, and soundbath classes take place and is filled with props like bolsters and blankets. My favorite class is the warm vinyasa. All the instructors are amazing and lead intense/challenging but fun workouts. Nina's classes are my favorite - you will absolutely work up a sweat. She tells you all the different modifications you can do for the poses so that the class is great for you whether you are a beginner or an expert yogi. I've also gotten the chance to try some Silent Hum classes. I had never taken a class with soundbath (which is supposed to be healing) before and it was a wonderful new experience. I always feel so great after finishing a class here. The studio is extremely clean - they provide lockers (the kind where you set up your own lock combo, so no need to bring your own), there is a water bottle refilling machine (so bring reusable water bottle please!), and lots of hooks to hang up your coat. The restrooms are shared with the rest of the building (but I don't think there are any other businesses yet) and those are also really clean. If you're looking for a yoga studio in downtown, definitely check this place out. They have a full schedule of classes from early morning to evening, so there are great options for everyone. I came to 3 classes while in town (vinyasa, meditation and a sound bath) and had the greatest experience I've ever had in a yoga studio. Not only is everything on the facility beyond beautiful but the instructors are amazing. I wish I remembered names but what I will never forget is how I everyone made me feel like I belonged. I had my first session there about a month ago. The studio is absolutely gorgeous with warm white walls, high ceilings and beautiful instruments in the studios. I've had a couple instructors, and they were all so welcoming, kind, and really helpful in encouraging mindful posture. I loved the vinyasa sessions. Parking was a bit difficult so plan accordingly. I love this boutique yoga studio because it's clean, good vibes, free yoga mat rental, has lockers that do not require a lock, music that fits the instructors style, a restroom, changing rooms, and most importantly knowledgeable, approachable, kind and passionate instructors. My favorite is Scott! I love his warm vinyasa flow classes because I just feel so good after his class. My second favorite is Nina because her warm vinyasa classes aren't as hot (room temp wise) but his class builds up and gets very intense! It's $40 for a month for new clients. I got the package while traveling to Seattle for 10 days. I went to their yoga classes 7 times and I felt so good afterwards each time. I feel that my hamstrings are a lot looser and my back pain went away. I wish NYC had good prices and instructors like the ones in this studio. TLDR; 10/10. Their space is so relaxing - they put so much thought into creating a quiet, peaceful yoga room and all the instructors have been phenomenal. Some say I'm a lucky guy and I think they are right! Being new to the greater Seattle area still and trying to figure out a consistent lifestyle flow, finding a great yoga studio with a great instructor goes a long way for me! I took my 2nd Monday morning class here before writing this review and i feel I have found a way to have a consistent practice/start to my week by taking the Monday morning class. Come start your week off with the 6:15am Monday morning class or try this place for yourself. Street Parking is pretty easy in the morning because parking meters do not start until 8am and roads are empty. This place is clean and sanitized, come ready to get your "mind.body.hum" on! Gorgeous studio with exceptional instructors, a beautiful space, and a welcoming environment perfect for your needs- be it relaxing guided meditation or warm vinyasa yoga. The yoga and meditation rooms are both well equipped, clean, and provide good natural lighting for a peaceful vibe. Check their website for prices/packages and their schedule and sign up for classes before heading in, no need to call. They provide mats and props as needed. I didn't personally enjoy the sound-guided meditation/restorative yoga because I'm too fidgety, but I am glad I got to try it. Their restorative yoga and meditation sessions are perfect for relaxing before or after a stressful day. Their classic warm yoga is ideal for a nice deep stretch and sweaty workout, definitely bring a small towel and bottle to fill. Each instructor had a unique workout planned matching their chosen music and focused on teaching students how to breathe and safely align the body properly for poses. They also provided individual guidance to correct and improve postures. I especially loved having Nina, she was very friendly during and after classes answering questions and concerns, and gave each student her attention and advice. Her forms were also beautiful and inspiring. My body always felt lighter and more relaxed after each class, and I felt taller too! If you're looking for a beautiful space to do yoga/meditation with wonderful instructors, check their website and try a class or two. Wish I had a chance to take photos of the studio but the pictures on Yelp are actually a great representation of how it actually looks. The huge gongs and wooden decor are very soothing during practice. I couldn't love this studio more. The design is beautiful and thoughtful without being overworked. Beautiful high ceilings in the main room. Every teacher is great, and even better, they're all quite different from one another. Other studios downtown definitely have more homogeneous teaching styles. At MBH, you can figure out which teachers are the best fit for you or mix up your practice by going to myriad classes. They always have thoughtful and unique music, and there's a lot of focus on sound experimentation, which is really interesting and cathartic once you get used to it. The monthly price for unlimited is a steal given all the yoga classes and the meditation options as well. And there's no ongoing commitment required despite the reasonable prices. Plus they have the good lockers where you don't have to bring a lock. And it's free to borrow a mat. I heart MBH. This place is such an amazing sanctuary where you'd least expect it. I've been to several sound bath sessions, a few yoga classes, and one workshop. The staff are always so welcoming and kind, and the sessions have been wonderful. The space itself is also so beautiful and calming (and clean!).
